I do Respect your opinion, but as a reviewer, you should be open to new products, regardless of brand aka Sony. You've made it pretty clear that samsung qd oled 90b/90d is the end all. Not everyone has the means of it nor wants to move to Oled. Just keep that mind. All the Best

Sony's Bravia 9 is a QD MiniLED TV.

Well, from what Sony is saying this year, they have a new form of course of processing for the mini LED back lighting system. Supposedly there’s going to be a relay of many processors inside all of the mini LEDs and giving it more of a I guess you can say super contrast, very controlled black level picture, but we’ll see. I don’t know whatever they’re trying to pull this year. They better play their hand well or else most people who aren’t drinking the Pepsi/getting promoted paid by them are not gonna take them seriously anymore, at least not for televisions. They are also claiming that this particular TV can produce the same kind of color brightness as there $20,000 little monitor that they use for calibrating movies, of course that monitors like almost 10 years old so yeah, we’ll see I guess.

I personally love Sony tvs, their picture quality and color are top notch nd I have no complaints. I’m looking to grab the Bravia 9 and Quad theater when they release.

I was looking for an OLED upgrade. I have an old Vizio (6 years) and I was hearing so many good things about sony and I was willing to drop that much for a good quality OLED with superb progressing. But seeing how they went back to LED... made me feel discouraged and turn my head in another direction tbh. And depending how reviews go I may change my mind. But I'm leaning towards THE LG G4 now

I just upgraded from an lg c1 to an a95L, I’m happy with brightness, color, and clarity of the tv. Based off of your reviews and experience do you think the g4, a95L or another tv is the better upgrade? (Not a fan of Samsung tvs, just not my preference)

I'm sorry if how I categorize and choose brands based on the kind of user bothers you. I associate brands who also manufacture products for grooming, health care, home care, HVAC, kitchen, and laundry such as Hisense, LG, Philips, Samsung, and TCL with average consumers who aren't too technically savvy. I associate brands whose focus is professional A/V and home theater such as Denon, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Sony, and Yamaha with professionals and A/V / home theater enthusiasts. As a professional musician and A/V / home theater enthusiast, all my gear falls under the latter. I understand Sony is carrying some models from their 2023 lineup over to this year. I think they're carrying the A95L QD-OLED over because it uses a new Mediatek chip, a new GUI, and newer features than the rest of the 2023 lineup, and came out so late that they decided to have it lead the way for 2024. Being that they improved non-mini-LED LCD as much as they could after replacing the X90K with the X90L, they will also be carrying the X90L over to this year's lineup. Considering its price is similar to Hisense and TCL, I think it makes sense for Sony to carry that one over. I think the smaller Bravia 8 WRGB OLED is Sony's solution for making them match the performance of their 83-inch A80L in smaller sizes. It appears to me that the ones to get replaced are the X93L with the Bravia 7, and the X95L with the Bravia 9. The way the new backlight technology has been described is instead of either turning on or off, each LED / dimming zone's level will adjust according to how bright each area of a signal is, possibly helping to reduce blooming and even preserve shadow detail, as opposed to each LED / dimming zone strictly turning on and off. I notice you skipped over the X90L last year. So many users of various skills claim the X90L has advantages over the X90J and X90K, including higher brightness and less blooming. While it only reaches 1,200 nits when showing bright highlights within a 10% window, its sustained full-screen brightness is 718 nits in SDR and 714 nits in HDR10, fairly close to the levels of Hisense and TCL at full-screen. I have the Costco version of the 85-inch X90CL. Just so you know I really have one, here's a short of my home theater configuration, kzfaq.infoXSmkOpTBmD4 . I think its HDR10 performance is fantastic. When setting Live Color to Medium, I think its Rec.709 SDR performance comes close. I'm not too good at judging motion, upsampling, and upscaling. In the audio department, with its upper-side mounted tweeters, I am highly impressed with how much the audio is lined up with the location of the screen. When setting the TV Position to Table Top / Stand, the Surround Mode set to On, and the Surround Effect set to Max, the surround signals of 5.1 and 7.1 sources feel and sound like they're coming from the same location as though physical speakers have been placed in those respective locations. While its bass might not be groundshaking, windowraddling, etc., I think it has plenty of presence thanks to its down-firing bass ports. Considering how similarly priced the X90L is to Hisense and TCL, as long as Sony is carrying it over for this year's lineup, I think that would make it a fair comparison and that you should give it a try.

2023 Hisense UX has -COLOR VOLUME/Density -9.2/10 🎉MATCH S95C A95L. D ONLY LED match QD-OLED in color volume😮 This year expect even more n with ADS-PRO , TRUE glossy , 180 viewing angle. Closest QD-OLED visual! I dont know how is like SONY LED going to compete. They will for sure fixate on “oh the new technology””upscaling” , no way they can reach new UX color volume, on top, they are still Pestle. 😮 . Its the COLOR Volume make things more 3D, more depth! More textured more contrasted on top of black/white.

Measure the Spectral Power Distribution of the X95K, X95L, X93L, and Z9K and tell me with a straight face they are using PFS Phosphor. Sony went back to QD Enhancement layer in 2022 for their high end. Bravia 7 and 9 are using QD Film too.

I STILL HAVE THE HTZ9F TOO, BUT I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT SONY ONLY HAVE ONE HDMI PORT FOR THEIR SOUND BARS NOW. THEY'RE GETTING SO LAZY & CHEAP NOW.

I know they are different divisions but Sony are being exposed in the game console space as well with the PS5 pro. They are basically selling their customers what they promised at the launch of the 5 for a massive cost.

Sony is done. I regret my Sony XH9505.. I got some issues on the Panel with weird spots and Rush on some Sources.. Not many Sony Fans amdit that. That crazu Rush on some Movies or Other Stuff. My Old LG LX9500 Flagshop LED from 2012. Is much better with less Rush and Weird Spots. I will buy a Hisense, TCL or LG. Value For Money Folks. Sony doesnt have Value for Money.
