Interesting product review -- I subscribed, too (must be your accent!). I have a question that nobody has addressed online: I'm involved in video production work, and frequently wear headphones for program audio monitoring and/or intercom purposes. I also use noise-reduction headphones for shooting sports. Would either of these scenarios cause hearing aid feedback issues (due to their cupping effect over aids)?

Donald, thank you for your comment. That’s also a great question. In many cases, wearing headphones over these Hearing aids will cause feedback (that’s true for most hearing aids). If you can find headphones with big earpieces it might probably work. I remember there have been some questions on this topic on the hearing aids reddit, maybe you can look them up there. Best, Dave

After watching your review, I plan to give these hearing aids a try. I'm wondering if 3rd party wax filters like those sold on Amazon can be used with this product?

Thank you for your comment. I believe they're definitely worth a try. The wax filters that fit for other Signia receivers should also fit in these devices. These should do the job: amzn.to/3rMqMmf Hope that helps! Best, Dave

I’ve got these and a couple of comments. The left ear, in the charging case needs to be jingled around to get it to charge. Secondly, I cannot get the volume control to increase or decrease sound

Jim, thank you for your comment. Do the hearing aids connect to your smartphone? If they do, adjusting the volume should be pretty straight forward. However, if that's an issue please check if your phone is compatible with the E10. If it is and the problem still persists please contact the Sony support, they might exchange the devices for you. @@jimh1946 I see… if you’re still in the trial period you could return them for a refund and get a new pair. Maybe that’s easier than fighting with the Sony support..,

Thanks for the detailed review. I have a few questions, hoping you can help: 1) you mentioned that the E10 comes with closed domes, and the C10 comes with open domes. Are open domes available for the E10? 2) are the E10 vented? 3) Regarding the wax filters, do I understand that they are not user replaceable? In my behind the ears ReSound aids (with open domes) that recently failed after 6 years of service, I had replaced the filters dozens of times. It’s a simple process. As an interim measure I have been using AirPods Pro as my temporary hearing aids. They do OK but suffer from a pitifully short battery life, about 5 hours. My other complaint about them is the occlusion effect - they have closed domes and no venting. Really do not want that “muffled voice” feeling I get from the AirPods, hence the reason for my first couple questions. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi Dave (great name by the way 😉) and thank you for your comment. To your questions: 1) Yes, open domes are available as the vented sleeves for the C10 fit for the E10 as well. Here is the link to them: amzn.to/43Itk1P 2) Yes, the sleeves that come with the E10 are vented. They have a little hole for venting. 3) There are no filters available from Sony, but regular wax filters for Signia devices will also fit here. Changing the wax filter is not hard, you can definitely give it a try. These filters should fit: amzn.to/3rMqMmf I believe that AirPods Pro will help you as temporary hearing devices, but they are definitely no substitute for "real" hearing aids. Hope that helps! That’s a great question. There seems to be huge demand for this device, but there are also some other manufacturers that are selling huge numbers.

Did you get an idea if Sony will eventually support Android streaming? Surprised as SONY makes Android phones. Thanks for the reviw.

Hi Jim, thank you for your question. There is no official information on that but I believe that they will support newer Android phones with the Bluetooth ASHA protocol as it already works with Signia hearing aids. Probably not with the SONY devices that are now on the market, but maybe with the next generation. Just my opinion. Best, Dave

Do they work without having the remote control app running on your phone or with your phone turned off? If my phone dies, do they stop working? If they do work without the phone being on, do they retail their last setting for volume, directionality, and so on? Thanks!

Hi and thank you for the great question. Right now all In-Ears with Bluetooth come in an earbud design (what you probably already know). I know that many companies are working to get Bluetooth and rechargeability into a small shell. I believe that we will see the first of those devices by the end of this year. Best, Dave

Question: I use an android phone, but I DO have an IPad PRO, software 15.6.1. I assume the App is what communicates with the CRE E10. Will this work for me (not having an I-Phone)? Thanks for your help!

The CRE-E10 model will support both audio streaming and phone calls for devices running iOS 13 and above. Only iOS devices support streaming; however, the CRE-E10 can be set-up on iOS (13 and above) or Android (OS 10 and above) using the Sony Hearing Control App. FINAL: Great question! Yes, this will work on your ipad pro with that iOS system. The CRE-E10 model will support both audio streaming and phone calls for devices running iOS 13 and above. Hi, I’m not 100% sure what you want to ask but if you want to know if the Sony CRE E10 are a good choice for hearing losses over 110dB: no, they are not. These OTC hearing aid are only made for mild to moderate hearing loss.

My wife is not very good with Bluetooth programs. Her hearing loss is signicant. Is there a good hearing aid without the sophistication that you could recommend.

Hello and sorry for the late reply. Most of the new hearing aids come with Bluetooth. However, there are some devices that work without a smartphone ie. Audionexx ID-1, Audien Atom 2. she could also go for the Sennheiser All-Day Clear with the ein-Clinic Care package (where a professional will set the hearing aids up for her). The Sennheiser option will definitely be the best drin an audiological perspective. Hope that helps! Best, Dave

Bluetooth range is too short. I lose connections with my iphone in my back pocket. Ended up returning them and just using my Airpod pros.

@@hearingaids-Dave if I put the phone in my rear right pocket the left hearing aid cut out. Left rear pocket - no right signal. Tried my wife’s phone and had the same results. Sony said, yes that’s expected. My AirPods work. I loaded my hearing test results and I hear better. They are not hearing aids but they get the job done for me. And I look like one f the cool kids.

Thank you for the great question. The Sony CRE E-10 is IP 68 rated. With an IP68 rating, they are water resistant in fresh water to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes, and are protected from dust. So while this does not mean that they’re „waterproof“ they’re definitely good for everyday usage even for persons that sweat heavily 👍 Hope that helps. Best, Dave

Returned the first set, ordered a new set. They came in with someone’s paired name on the hearing aids. This whole program is a joke. Could not get the second pair to go through the sound profile test, they went back also, after two hours.

@@hearingaids-Dave that’s a good question. I’ve never experienced or heard about a problem at Costco. I have bought the expensive audiologist recommended hearing aids in the past. For me it’s overkill. I might try the lesser expensive Sony‘s that do not have Bluetooth. I’m not sure I need to stream the Bluetooth. Anyway, thank God I only have a mild hearing loss.

Karoline, thank you for your comment. If you would have watched the whole video you would have heard, that direct streaming to these hearing aids only works with Apple devices (11:35). However, the smartphone app to control the hearing aids works for Apple and Android devices and is the same for both. You’re welcome. 😉 Best, Dave
