Hello Dave: Thank you for your knowledge, clear and detailed review. It is informative and useful. Have you reviewed the Jabra enhance 200? I'm vacillating between the Signia Active Pro and the Jabra. Thank you for your time in replying.

Hi Dianne, thank you for your kind message. Indeed I have a review of the Jabra Enhance 200, it is here: Jabra Enhance Select 200 (Former Lively 2 Pro) Rechargeable OTC Hearing Aids - Detailed Review kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fJueirmV2rPRmqc.html By the way, these two hearing aids are very different, exotically when it comes to the design (earbud vs. RIC design). I hope my videos will help you make your decision! Best, Dave

Hello, thanks for the video! Will these devices be suitable for hearing loss of 2-3 degrees?

Hello and thank you for your comment. These devices are best for mild to moderate hearing loss. When talking about moderate hearing loss: usually, moderate hearing loss is referred to hl from 41 to 60 decibels. Hope that helps! Best, Dave

I changed my health insurance plan, so I was able to get a set of the Signia Active X Pro aids. Yeah, these things do make voices easier to understand, but overall the sound quality sucks. Mine were way too tinny after the audiologist first set them up, and there is really only a volume and tone control in the very lame app. They are okay now that the audiologist adjusted them. I was setup with around 5 programs, but to be honest I could not tell the difference between them. The app also does not remember settings. It always reverts to the default. So, if you are using the Universal program and change the volume and the tone, then turn off the aids or switch programs, the app will not remember the adjustments that you made. Although these have a list price around $3700, they also don't sound nearly as good for music as a $37 pair of earphones. And, where cheap earphones usually give you a graphic equalizer, these expensive hearing aids won't let a user adjust anything. All adjustments need to be made by an audiologist, which sucks. Then there is the facts that unlike a cheap set of earphones these expensive devices only work with iPhones for streaming. Oy...

I have both and was hoping I could use the signia connexx app to adjust the Sony. Nope won't connect. The sony only has the universal setting. I was hoping for a music mode. Nope

Yes, the Sony devices are definitely more basic than the Signia devices. We’ll see what the next generation of Sony OTCs will be capable of.

The Signia devices have much more features. However, the Sony OTCs are really good for the price.

Hi Rosario, thank you for the great question. The Sony CRE E10 are OTC hearing aids, OTC stand for Over The Counter. These are a new class of hearing aids that are allowed to be sold without prescription or professional fitting. They come with a smartphone app and the wearer can adjust the settings all by himself. Contrary the Signia Active Pro are prescription hearing aids. You can only get them at a hearing professional and they require professional fitting. Hope that helps. Best, Dave
