If this small camera can fit a mic jack, why on earth can't they put a mic jack on cameras like RX100 or GX7??

I guess Sony somehow needs to put some limitations on the RX100. Like the 5mins recording limit and no mic jack. Otherwise it might hurt their a6400 line. And because this RX0 has a fixed lens. So they can sort of put the mic jack back plus no recording limit 😉

Cause they're Sony. Every two years they need something to upgrade. In 2021 the RX-100 VII will finally have an audio jack.

Just wanna say the main footage in this video has some excellent colour grading! Beautifully warm, yet still natural - good job! Not sure how I feel about the RX0 for myself though. Looks pretty robust, and would do well to fit in some obscure places on a set with bigger Sony cameras to match.

I wish so much it were ever so slightly larger (if necessary) to have an F1.8 lens, like the old RX100...then it would be the absolute perfect camera for almost everyone I know with kids or pets. It's indestructible, and small enough to have with you at all times.

Love this little cam, reminds me my old Sony QX10. When I was in NYC, Rome, and Paris, lots people asked about the QX10 because it just so small~! I'm gonna wait a bit for next year when the price comes down a bit. Thanks for the cool review.

Would've liked to see a comparison of the ability of the image stabilization vs the RXO or vs say a Gopro 6 or 7...something. Why did some of the shots seem soft also? Smeared lens surface or?

There is another big thing, how would it actually compare to a gopro 7. The GoPro is an action cam with huge FOV. I tried the Osmo Pocket for the same stuff I use GoPro's and well it looks crap because the FOV is way to small but the Images are sharper and better then the GoPro 7 stuff.

i want to use it together with gimbal and do a fly around a moving object (sports shooting and dancing) will It be able to keep focus on the object when I will smoothly walk around it with this camera in hand?

It had few out of focus shots , was it because of the ND filters ? That was quite a vlogging rig :) Nice video :)

6:25 Either that filter needs some cleaning or you need a new one, cause the footage looks blurry and very hazy.

Rodrigo Rodriguez camera has no AF-C so unfortunately it’ll always look out of focus unless your always at the same distance from when you press record.

Did you mention the speed and focal length of the lens? And in FF terms it's what, 35mm?

Wondering if it would be able to record 4hrs and not overheat...I do multi-cam/edit events that can run 4-5 hrs.

I don't really care about the small camera, but the footage taken with the 24-70/4 makes me want to buy it right now. It almost has the plasticity as the old 35-70 C/Y lens. Amazing!

Probably because of the ND filter. Look at the shots towards end without it

It's not just you. It IS out of focus because it only has AF-S, no AF-C, unfortunately, as mentioned by some other reviewer.

It gets confused because of ND filter. Who needs the ND for this camera anyway. Or may be GoPro + Kai wanted to make us sceptical about this Sony. Because as we see the video is sponsored by squarespace, an unrelated company. ;)

Actually you need to re hit the shutter button to re focus when switching distances significantly.

does anyone know if the shutter speed/angle can be kept constant while filming/recording.........as assuming it still has an f4.0 lens, so vari ND a must to control exposure.........

I'm having a hard time finding whether this has external power wake up? Planning on using it in livestreaming UW-rugby and because of that it will be closed in a waterproof case after which i cant access the buttons.

Tiny so as to avoid weird looks, mic jack, decent sensor size, 4k30 AND 1080p w/ high FPS options for slo-mo, focal length that is equivalent to 24mm, tripod screwy thing for a small gimbal to help stabilize the scene, not THAT expensive, flippy screen (even if vertical), and so on... paging Camera Conspiracies! Could this be the one???

Hi! I have one technical question about this camera. Sony claims it has effective 15,3Mpx out of around 21Mpx. It would be the biggest waste I have ever heard of! Is it 1" sensor at all? What is the benefit of having such a big sensor, when you throw 30% of pixels away? And what is about the true angle of view and crop? Do I miss something?

If you're wondering what possible use these tiny cameras can be for "real" video and not just breaking clavicles on bicycles, I've found the GoPro Hero 7 Black to be an absolute beast for shooting music, dance, and drama rehearsals and K-8 classroom instruction and playground games.

It looks really cool. If I knew this was coming I might not have just bought a GoPro Hero 7 Black, although I must say I'm insanely impressed by it. The sample footage you shot with the RX0 seems all blurry and out of focus though, so that's a bit discouraging.
