This is what it says in the manual about focussing in video: 'For movies, you can first set the focus before recording, and then later readjust the focus during recording by pressing the SHUTTER/MOVIE button halfway down. (Set [AF-S during mov rec] to [On] in advance.)' It's a firmware update.

Lot's to like. Biggest fails in my opinion are not being able to change focus during recording (what were they thinking??) and image stabilization is pretty terrible.

When viewed on an iPhone the image from this camera doesn’t hold up - it gets all pixelated. Perhaps it’s KZfaq’s processing?

How will this work if you have a Mac ? I had a Sony handicam and it took me forever to get a video to send to the Mac and the only way I could publish it on my You Tube channel was to use an app that put their brand name on the video.

Actually as you were vlogging the RXO-ii still held focus. It wasn't as that much an issue as you indicated. Also you didn't mention that HDMI sends out video clean. Really cool for someone still needing to send this signal to a switcher or recorder as these would be great multiple camera applications. There is even a mobile app to control these as well. I think this is not a GoPro competitor. This is for the creator looking for a camera with a more powerful mission GoPros can't go and deliver footage more in keeping with their workflow. Stunt cameras in harms way that you wouldn't want a bigger less durable rig to go for instance. This camera could also be used in a Podcast A B C camera application with say the ATEM Mini Pro by BlackMagic. These eat up less space than even the smallest mirrorless cameras do. So in summary, it isn't just the most smallest vlogging camera around. It is not really meant for the casual shooter in mind. Have you seen the price for it new?? A GoPro 7 or 8 makes more sense then. But this is aimed for a semi pro or production that wants a camera with the image quality and performance more in keeping with their workflow that a GoPro or DJI is not going to fulfill. I am fully bought into the Sony space. They are doing amazing things. There are others too. But for a production that might be bought into the Sony space as well, say FS5,7 or even the big Venice rigs and so on, will see the RXO-ii as a valuable tool for those just right shots or applications. I want one in a bad way. These things are amazing. The 1 BSI CMOS inch sensor smokes 1 2/3 sensors all day long. The ultimate would be to include computational imaging as they do with smartphones in the RXO-ii and make bigger cameras you might use say for the street shot obsolete. This Sony is way more than most people will ever realize. GoPro may have started the micro camera we all know. It took the giant Sony, to perfect it for serious creation.

Good video. Not sure why anyone would consider buying this, good camera but the price doesn't come close to me wanting it. For 2 to $300.0 less DJI and GoPro are right there. All cameras have the pluses and minuses, this doesn't have enough plusses to justify the cost.

Well I thought it might be the perfect vlogging camera, but the stabilization definitely isn't as good as the Gopro, and sounds like the lack of auto-focus could be a real problem. Might just stick with the ol' GP. Where was this video made? Looks like an interesting city.

Awesome review. Love the picture quality with that big sensor and the s-log and the menu options. I really want to want this camera, but I'll see what next gen brings. I don't understand the race to be tiny. Cell phones went through this awhile back. Hoping it's just a phase. I'm not a spy, don't need to sacrifice features to have a dice size camera. Does the stabilization work better at lower resolutions? Because It sucks. If someone is vlogging and walking, there's no doubt I'd rather see content from a hero 7 with hypersmooth. I swear they would slaughter the market if they made this cam the size of a pack of cigs and stuffed in real stabilization and autofocus and raised the price. even if it had the shitty autofocus of my cx900 and something similar to hypersmooth, I'd drop $1,300 in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, and you could fit a useful screen. It would be ideal for vloggers, storm chasers, sports, you name it.

I read the RX0 has preset focus setting near and far and you are better off going with them than setting autofocus. But to tell you the truth when you came closer to the camera it was just fine. I dont want to see your skin pores.

Cool camera but it's expensive and image stabilization isn't nearly as good as the DJI Osmo Action Cam which is A LOT less expensive. Also, $k is not really necessary for Vlogging and KZfaq usage.

its not that rugged.. that flimsy door that covers the usb/sd card port swings off and breaks off and u lose it.. when u using the tripod
