I was divorced at 19 also. Married my junior year because he enlisted in Air Force and we wanted to be together. Turned out he was never really around, too busy partying with his AF boys. That is a good point. I met my ex husband when I was 19 years old, got married when I was 26 and he dumped me in 2018, just for my 49 birthday. Whe have two kids who are now 23 and 14 years old and we all three got hurt so much, I am still not over it. He is now 58 years old and has a baby with a woman he met at work, 14 years younger than HIM.
@alicecain48513 жыл бұрын
Not waiting until after you had children was a blessing. My kids were 8, 9, and 11 - all girls - when my husband of 14 1/2 years decided that the women he was picking up on-line were better than me and our family. My kids are now 29, 31, and 32 and these years have been tough as a single parent. (My girls are fabulous!) Sadly for my girls, when I got divorced, his family divorced the kids too. That was shocking! I had not seen that happening. He chose to pretty much chop the girls out of his life. Enough of my story! Even though you don't have any big negatives to regret about your relationship, that in itself leaves you with such a strange feeling. And he's out of the service now so that comradery he was missing with his military pals is no longer even an issue. It seems as though he was just too immature to be married to anyone. I do believe you have an amazing future ahead. You are obviously very busy living your life. You have a good head on your shoulders and a great work ethic. Congratulations on finalizing your divorce - especially as he made you run a marathon to do it. Do go for those funds he still owes you. Yup. I'm a bit vindictive. He wasted your time and you paid a lot in attorneys fees. Best of luck!

I admire you for getting through something so tough as Divorce. My husband and I dated for 5 years , he proposed and we married a year later. We tried to get pregnant and after a year went to a fertility doctor. During the workup, they found some polyps in my uterus and the biopsy showed Cancer. A year after being diagnosed, he left me. We had a big argument in which yes I told him to leave but didn't mean for good. Well, it was the perfect excuse for him to leave, claming all these things which pretty much made me at fault but weren't completely accurate. A year later he filed for Divorce. This August will mark 2 years since he filed. I have no idea what the hold up is, he won't really say. He does claim to still love me, etc. but as I told him, actions speak louder than words. As for me, by the Grace of God, I am in a much better state mentally, emotionally and even physically. Prayers for everyone going through Divorce. 💙

My advice: Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that it’s all fine and to “just forget about him.” I went thru my early 20s thinking I needed to keep it moving but now I know that break ups and divorces are like a death (of a relationship) and you take all the time you need to grieve them! Even if 2-3 years from now you randomly still think about him, don’t feel about that.

This is so common with military men. My brother's childhood friend joined the air force at 19, met a beautiful and sweet girl and they dated for a few years and got engaged. I was super happy for them, especially because I really liked her. He got her a very expensive ring and seemed absolutely in love and then he ended up having to to another state for several months to train for a new position and during that time he met a girl he was training with and decided to leave his fiancee for her. I was very shocked because I met the girl soon after and she was really unattractive and had a very unfriendly personality. I have only ever seen her and him one other time since so it's been over a decade since and they are still together but the last time my brother heard from him a few years ago, he said she was having affairs to get promotions.

Wow to hear how calm and sweet you were to him when he first FaceTimed u, I would’ve went crazy, blown up his phone and made him say it with his chest and then block him on everything and had a whole glow up. He didn’t deserve you. I admire your emotional strength, well I guess you just harbored and handled it well. You deserve a great man. ♥️

I was married at 18 to a military man for ten years… It stinks to get a divorce now, but better than hanging on for 10 years of unhappiness. I am currently married for 5 years to a wonderful man… He is in the military, however, such a better fit, and I am so much happier. You are a beautiful person, and something better will come along ♥️

Girl! I’m so proud of you! First time on your page but wow, you’re so strong and so wise! I’m happy that you wanted to try and fight for what was yours, your future husband will be thankful that you have that characteristic! You’re so mature and I was cheering you on throughout this entire video! I admired how you kept it to yourself and told your client (grandmama figure) first; I truly feel like that was wise because she could give you advice and guidance that friends your age probably haven’t experienced. Also, I truly loved how you wanted to work on things and keep it between y’all, I think a lot of us need to learn how to keep certain issues within the relationship especially if you’re not in harms way. My father told me that it’s best to keep your relationship business to yourself & not run to your loved ones every time something bad happens because we (in the relationship) tend to forgive one another while our family may have 100 reasons to hate your partner LOL. 🤣. Anyways, thank you for sharing your story, gorgeous!💘💘

I know some days will be hard. But take this time to embrace your singleness and truly love your solitude. I’m in the military and spent 4 years overseas and saw some crazy stuff that makes me fear marriage tbh. But through it I’ve found that if I’m confident in who I am and love myself then I will always be okay. The right one will come when you aren’t even looking.

First of all, I am very sorry. I can only imagine how hard this video must have been to make. You told this story in such a composed manner, but I know this was not how you saw life playing out. I recently had to break off my engagement with almost the exact same circumstances. Random emotional distancing after the commitment, having no desire to be physically close, and then not even bothering to officially cut off the relationship. I hope you know you are not alone in your experiences, and I am thankful you have your friends to support you through all of this❤️

This was really a blessing in disguise. Marriage wasn’t the best option for you two and even though the way he went about it was poor, it’s best that it happened so early on. Like you said, what if he had went years without saying anything and then sprung it on you? That would’ve been an even bigger blow. I wish you the best!

What's with military guys and the strip club. They are ten hours away from home. Just this weekend two guys and my bf went. The two guys were married and have kids and they made my bf the DD sense he really isn't into the whole strip club thing anyways. To me it's like your wife is at home taking care of kids and working and then men just go out and f*** around. To top it off they were at the strip club for 5 hours. I dont get why this triggers me so bad since it's not my issue but it just bothers me so much!
@SarahdayZ3 жыл бұрын
I’m the same way. That stuff bothers me like crazy
@bethoney963 жыл бұрын
It’s triggering for a lot women because it further reinforces the sad fact that a lot of women feel like all they do is cook, clean, and raise children while the man pays the bills and lives a regular, fun life. Like he has a life outside of the family and the women typically does not, especially in military.

@bethoney963 жыл бұрын
@@willnill7946 okay that’s your experience. I don’t know your friends. What I do know is I see allll my friends with kids taking care of them all the while the dad can leave whenever he wants to go do whatever. Mom can’t leave and get drunk because they have the baby. Mom has to put the baby to bed so she can’t hangout with friends when we’re over. I think you’re playing the “not all men” card without saying it and there’s no need for that.

Too young to be married for sure. I got married when I was 19, he 20. We were married for 10 years! Recovery time 4 years. My advice to all - wait till you much older. No need to rush!!! 6 months recovery- great result! All the best.
@Svet-Lana20223 жыл бұрын
I disagree with the whole blaming the age thing. Yes it didn’t work out in this situation but doesn’t mean that’s just the age issue. I got married at 19 and have been married for 12 and have three kids together. Marriage is freaking hard work but worth it if both people are willing to work at it.

I’m already 7 mins into the video and I’m getting worked up from this story. I can’t stand it when someone else is that selfish that they can’t think of the other person. I wasn’t married but my ex is in the army, we were long distance because I’m in graduate school, and while he was at a training, he broke up with me over FaceTime.

That is your silver lining ❤️ you can go and live your life without thinking about the years you’ve wasted about your marriage. He owed you closure. When he didn’t give you that, he chose to hurt you. I hope you find the person you are meant to grow old with. Being in the military I'm so sorry but truth is everyone who is married takes off their wedding ring when they go on deployments. I've seen it first hand. Its disgusting but its "the norm" so no one cares anymore because it happens every single time. Its nothing new. Also everyone who first gets in the military gets married to get out of the dorms/barracks or to get the extra money every month. Its the unfortunate fact. I'm so sorry you had to go through this.

This story is almost exactly like mine. My ex was located overseas where families could be with them, so I got told face to face what you were told over FaceTime. It was very hard at the time, but looking back I'm so thankful I went overseas with him and got to see first hand what happens. As you said towards the end, your ex could have kept it inside and never told you which is what SO many of the guys do to their wives. It's so wrong!! You will find someone who loves you and treats you like you should- you're still young!
