Trip to Cross Cave - underground cascaded lakes where conditions must be just right for you to go there. That cave is in its original shape, just like it was 20,000 years ago during the ice age. There are still bones of cave bears in the rocks. Sound recording here was challenging, but when you are in that isolated place with no light and sound from outside, it is just magic.

The ancient cave in Slovenia called Cross Cave is one of the most well-preserved caves, still in its original shape from thousands of years ago. The cave has underground lakes, and we recorded on the two biggest ones. It is a very quiet place in complete darkness. After around 4 hours of walking and paddling, the lake came into sight, and there was a small place where I could put the recorder. The original recordings are from 20 minutes to more than an hour long.
Water droplets falling from ancient old stalagmites created an echo.
One rig had stereo omni mics Lom Usi with Jaecklin disc and Zoom F3, and the other rig was with stereo Sennheiser MKH40 in Ortf and Zoom F6.
