Roberto García Ceballos es organizador del Fideicomiso Comuniatrio de Tierra Libre y miembro activo del Colectivo Poder Comunitario. En su conversación con Eva, habla de la historia y la visión detrás de FCTL, destacando el progreso que la organización ha logrado en la creación de un fideicomiso de tierras comunitarias. Roberto expresa su pasión por organizarse con sus vecinxs y la importancia de construir poder y redes de apoyo mutuo con inquilinxs y trabajadorxs de bajos recursos para luchar por el control comunitario de la tierra y la vivienda.
Sonidos de California: Boyle Heights (2020-2021) es un proyecto guiado por la Alianza para las Artes Tradicionales en California (ACTA) en colaboración con el Colectivo Poder Comunitario y residentes locales para grabar, componer, presentar y archivar el paisaje sonoro local, enfocándose en temas de anti-desplazamiento y pertenencia. La iniciativa estatal Sonidos de California trabaja en asociación con la principal red de radio pública latina, Radio Bilingüe y el Centro de Tradición Popular y Patrimonio Cultural del Smithsonian.

Roberto García Ceballos is an organizer for the Fideicomiso Comuniatrio de Tierra Libre and an active member of the Community Power Collective. In his conversation with Eva, he shares about the history and vision behind FCTL, highlighting the progress that the organization has made in creating a community land trust. Roberto expresses his passion for organizing with his neighbors and the importance of building power and networks of mutual support with low-income tenants and workers in order to fight for community control of land and housing.
Sounds of California: Boyle Heights (2020-2021) is a project led by the Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) in collaboration with the Community Power Collective and local residents to record, compose, present, and archive the local soundscape, focusing on themes of anti-displacement and belonging. The statewide Sounds of California initiative works in partnership with the leading Latino public radio network, Radio Bilingüe, and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
