Hey friends! So the sun is officially up now, so I figured it was time to show you some of the time lapses that I’ve taken over the course of the season! It starts off with the sunset and then moves into the beautiful night skies that we have here at the Pole! I hope you enjoy it ☺️

I am currently living and working at the South Pole Station through the United States Antarctic Program. I am not down here as a filmmaker or photographer, but instead work in the Logistics and Supply department. All of these videos are being made during my free time and not during working hours. We are very busy down here keeping the station running at maximum efficiency, but I have managed to find some free time to make these short movies!

Its just crazy how this video doesnt have millions of views. Some useless videos on KZfaq get watched by millions, but this is huge, true beauty. Makes me wonder about humanity

the quasi still flat slab we are on is suspended within an hollow planet with pretty interior light and a stationary mini sun keeping us warm. the seasons might have to do with flat slab oscillating twice a year, although it might be easier to verify if the sun is moving its position as it might be a lot less complicated; or maybe we are not within a hollow planet, it's "just" an extensive lighter weight structure, like a canvas for the slab we are in. we are certainly not looking at the cosmos when we are looking at the sky at night, from comets to close ups of stars all is consistent with an extensive sphere around us. and considering from the beach of liverpool, the isle of man can be seen from 115Km away, fully, not just the 420m top; using a earth's curve calculator the isle man is over 1Km below the horizon, and yet, there it is, fully in view, day after day, year after year; and, from the beach of new quay ceredigion, bardsey island can be seen from 64Km away, fully, not just the 150m top; using a earth's curve calculator the isle man is over 275m below the horizon, and yet, there it is, fully in view, day after day, year after year, we can easily assume the potentially still flat slab we are on is flat for many thousand of miles at list; a minor curvature cannot be excluded, but that we are on a sphere with an 8000miles diametre that's just offensive; what do you think?

Beautiful shots! What camera are you using for these pics? What are the settings? And how do you keep it powered for these long durations of time to keep the battery from freezing?
@GoneVenturing
@GoneVenturing 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! I am using a Canon 6D with a Tamron 15-30mm 2.8 Lens! And the settings are different for each time lapse, but generally I had the aperture wide open at 2.8 and then a 10-20 second exposure! And then iso was whatever made sense based on the conditions! Often around 4000. As far as keeping it alive, I built an insulated camera box to put it in with a water bottle of hot water. For the real long ones I actually got an extension cord and hooked up the camera to an outlet instead of using a battery!

@1:41 the two small fuzzy patches at the left and center are actually called the "Magellanic Clouds" and are two small satellite galaxies of our very own Milky Way galaxy, which is easily visible in the same shot as the wide streak of fuzzy, starry light running along the right side of the screen.

@luigicirelli2583
@luigicirelli2583 Жыл бұрын
the moon is so miniscule despite being so close to the horizon, it's larger on the horizon on the northern hemisphere. I postulate that there is considerably less atmosphere left there between the projection of the moon and the camera as it is positioned just before the "southern" perimeter wall keeping the gases contained within the slab, reducing the magnification effect of the moon as a result

There is no need. The shape of the sky doesn't prove the shape of the ground we're standing on. It would be much easier to just allow everyone to circle Antarctica by foot. If it's a small island and not the border of our world, it would be easy to prove that way. Or simply crossing by heading straight south and forcing a straight direction using a laser. The fact that people aren't allowed to travel freely beyond 60 degrees south is beyond suspicious.
@HugoFilho.
@HugoFilho. Жыл бұрын
@@hanntonn2 "the shape of the sky doest prove the shape of the ground" Nope, its one the best ways to show that earth is a spheroid. Just the simple fact that there are 2 celestial poles destroys flattardia. "People arent allowed to travel freely beyond 60 deg south" That doesnt happen
