Now today, in this video, I’m going to show you around South Scottsdale, and show you the lifestyle that you can expect living here. Plus the location, history, some typical homes you might live in if you moved here, and a bit of info on the housing market as well. South Scottsdale Arizona has an amazingly convenient location. It’s bordered by the 101 and 202 highways so you can get to anywhere around the metro Phoenix AZ area fairly easily. You have Tempe to the south, Phoenix to the west, and to the north you have central and North Scottsdale.
Now, just to give you some perspective, the city of Scottsdale is 31 miles long and about 11 and a half miles wide at its very widest point. This is why when you hear people talk about Scottsdale, you will often hear people refer to North Scottsdale vs. South Scottsdale.. for today's video we are going to focus on South Scottsdale.
South Scottsdale has an amazingly convenient location. It’s bordered by the 101 and 202 highways so you can get to anywhere around the metro Phoenix area fairly easily. You have Tempe to the south, Phoenix to the west, and to the north you have central and North Scottsdale.
In terms of housing, South Scottsdale is a lot more affordable than North Scottsdale. And so in a lot of ways it feels like an entirely different community. And while North Scottsdale is characterized more by Golf courses and mansions, south scottsdale has more of a quintessential mid-century vibe. Scottsdale Arizona is a lot like Palm Springs in that way, we really embrace and celebrate the mid-century modern look.
You can’t talk about South Scottsdale AZ and Old Town without also mentioning it’s incredible nightlife scene. This bar district comes alive at night and it’s consistently voted one of the best bar and nightclub districts in the entire country. These are all original concepts, and many have become so successful that they’ve opened more locations all over the country.
Most of the homes were built around the 50s and 60s and have that ranch style home that most everybody thinks of when they think of classic Scottsdale AZ. They’re predominantly single-level homes, and because of the age you’re going to find a ton of homes that have been rebuilt and renovated. This whole area has been going through a transition in the past few years, and so real estate investors love South Scottsdale because they can find older homes, renovate them, and sell at a premium because of how in-demand South Scottsdale AZ is becoming.
