KB has said 'Dangerous Joy' was his absolute favorite chapter to write, so much so, he wishes he could write an entire book on that very subject. Here we discuss the conundrum of the red tape placed all over God's world, by so many in the Church, and holiness over happiness. But for some reason, there is not much of work on how to use happiness FOR your holiness, in enjoying God's world. Pull up and rock with us!

Regarding the ending of this episode, when you point out that Soloman says "Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom", I find it helpful to remember that "fear of God" in the original language here may mean something closer to "Great reverence of God", which really helped turn this verse from something that had more of a negative connotation for me, into something with a more positive message. I'm realizing that many emotive words may have a slightly different meaning in those ancient time. For example when Jesus tells us to hate our parents, He didn't mean for us to actually hate them, just in that ancient language these people used extreme language to describe the difference in relationships, so in reality it just means for us to not to love our parents more than God, and to love God to such a high degree. Great episode!

So in a sense we're being irresponsible and unbalanced when we keep unmarrying happiness from holiness, that makes Christianity so heavy. Happiness "in" Holiness is not a sin.
