Cheers! Main issue was the rear tires had given up a bit here - mid 2:34 would have been there otherwise. Optimal of all sectors over 2 days was a 33.9 😪

I don't think so, this season there is a new kerb on the left side at Eau Rouge which I don't like the look of, so I stay a bit further right which is actually not helpful but not a big deal. my 4th gear is a bit too short on the approach but going to 5th and back is a lot of work in a manual there 🙈

Hard to say, I think so but they act very different. 052 is grippy immediately but trofeo needs warmup and traction is worse. the front axle feels better with pirelli than cup2 but the rear is worse. But it's hard to say because the track was too cold - 5 degrees air temp

Different tires, I haven't done enough laps on the 2R to wear them down completely but for just track daying without lap records in mind I prefer the trofeos. The cup 2r is super pointy and direct, the pirelli feels friendlier and its very stable doing many laps in a row. However the trofeo got a lot slower for me after about 1.5 days of use while there was a lot of thread left. Trofeo seemed to wear down the outside shoulder a lot quicker and once it did that performance started to drop off significantly

Some braking for sure, entry is close to 240 and apex speed is possible around 190-195 so too much speed to scrub off without the brakes... cheers!

@@JCviggen1 thank you, expected that answer but got confused by the braking + turning being so smooth haha. in different videos, have seen you entering the corner in 5 and downshifting to 4 on the left curb or entering in 4 at max rpm. the later seems more efficient and more comfortable with manual gearbox I assume?

@@paulpierres6499 Correct yeah, if shifting to 5th you go a bit quicker in but then brake a bit harder and the downshift is "not easy" but possible so it kind of depends on how I feel at that moment I guess lol

All ruined by traffic. It was super super busy. Hence a great optimal time of sectors (33.9) but no way to do a whole lap and not need to slow down. Only when a lot of UK guys quit early to go home could I do proper laps :(

@@JCviggen1 Ok. Fair enough. However in my experience when its super busy, my tires don't really wear down as much as I really don't get the chance for sustained multiple full sends....Just saying

@Stradman Spa is a long track :) Couple of 2nd gear corners where you lean hard on the traction. As you can see I was on lap 53 and 55 of the trip here and I didn't have Racechrono on for the first couple. At 7 kilometers a lap that's a not inconsiderable amount and the rears had gone off their best significantly. I have some hope that they will come back in warmer conditions, the track was too cold for the best grip here anyway.

@@JCviggen1 well listen, a 2:35 in your car is exceedingly respectable and really doesn't need any excuses to suggest it can go faster. If you happen to go faster at some point, then just post the video. That's all that's necessary.. All imv of course.. 😊

@Stradman Certainly hope to do that, but it will take a while before I can have another go as there's only Nurburgring planned for the rest of the year at this stage. Maybe can squeeze in another Spa in the autumn but the weather is always fickle so the stars have to align.

It's just different, it can't handle fast direction changes nearly as good but the corner exits are on a different level so it makes time in different places

Nice lap, about 1 second faster than your previous video. Have you done any setup changes, or just getting used to the gt3?

@Mark Heyes Its in the description :) MR alignment and a bit of weight red plus different tires. My optimal time dropped as far as 33.9 but too much traffic - a 34.5 should have been doable had I not spent the tires by the time the track got empty.
