@Sparky Channel. Thanks for your great demonstration of the fish tape and proper technique for pulling wires in a conduit. I have a question. How and when should wire pulling lubricant be used? Can one tell when it's needed before pulling or only after a problem happens? Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
@SparkyChannel4 жыл бұрын
Wire pulling lube is an excellent idea and I could've used it with 3 12 ga wires in 1/2" conduit. 4 12ga wires in 1/2" conduit you definitely would need it. Basically, if you think you'd better use it then use it. Yes, sometimes with pulling wire you will wish you used it when you didn't. LOL! Thanks1
@dudeman6504 жыл бұрын
It also depends on the kind of insulation on the wire, anything like THHN or THWN will not need lubricant because it has a nylon sheathing over the insulation. But if there is no nylon it's preferable to use lube if the conduit fill is above 30%

I have ? (1) is all wires fished through conduit that easy or do problems arise? (2) can more than one set of wires be put through the same conduit? Wow, that tool works great! Thank you for this demo, very interesting & a well done vid.!!!!!
@SparkyChannel4 жыл бұрын
Yes, problems can arise such as a wire or wires come loose. there are codes saying how many wires can be put in a conduit and that can't be exceeded. Thanks!

Hey mate nice video, can you take the fish tape completely out of the red housing or is it fixed to the housing?

You can take it out all the way to change fish tapes.

eagle eyed want to know if you moved your bending board to a different site, and are those Milwaukee side-cutters and metal worker/rebar tying pliers? ;-)
@SparkyChannel4 жыл бұрын
Same bender board. I'm thinking of expanding it. LOL! Those are Milwaukee iron worker pliers 48-22-6102. They have a little spring in them, very easy to handle, excellent for rebar tying.

I have to laugh because you use the exact same ironworkers pliers that I use for lineman pliers. I like that they open with a spring. My worst fishtape is the Ideal tape that has a knob for quick reel-in just like a fishing reel. Jams up every time reeling and unreeling. I have to unscrew the case to clear the jam. Total aggravation. I just might have to give that Milwaukee tape a try.
