What Jeff isn’t telling you about this video is that right before we filmed this, he already did like a million other sparring rounds with Sensei Seth, Icy Mike, and Rokas. The man is a phenomenal athlete with incredible control while sparring. That last takedown was perfect!

The amount of people disrespecting Ramsey in the comments mind blows me. -The dude is in his 40s -He's injured -He's tired as fuck -Still recovering from Covid Who cares if he's out of shape, who cares if he's a mediocre fighter (he's not). He is a proper fight coach, who has already earned the right for respect. He spent his young days fighting in a country where he wasn't welcomed, built a proper fight gym business, bagged himself an awesome wife and kids, and has a thriving youtube channel. The man has accomplished more than most will even if you gave them multiple lives. RESPECT the old timer. Some of the comments remind me of toxic fans who roast actors for not being in peek shape twenty four seven, i swear to god. God forbid a retired fighter actually just enjoys life and enjoys a few extra cheese burgers.

@@metalface_villain "always get the goofy ones throwing spinning backfists and wild hooks at full force while the coach says spar at 10-15%" Agree, in real martial arts like Karate, ITF Taekwondo, Kung Fu etc., this is how we spar. A lot of the MMA guys will say "oh this isn't real fighting". Well, it's not real in the sense that you're going to get hurt, but it is still full speed. Just not full force. 🙂 This is how we did at the studio where I went when I was in HS, and every time I have encountered a self defense situation, where the other guy definitely was NOT pulling punches (nor was I), ITF Taekwondo has been very effective for me. This kind of stuff teaches you technique. I want to ask those goofy guys, what did you gain by going 100 percent that you wouldn't have learned by going 15??? And the chances of getting hurt are far greater when you go 100. smh at them.

@@B..B. I think that the Olympic modality misses out on the main features that are useful for MMA. However, Olympic Sanda can make the modality grow a lot. I think it is possible to work in three senses: Olympic, Professional (MMA) and Military (it was the first form - Junshi Sanda, it is used by the Chinese army and mixes a lot with Traditional Kung Fu).
@B..B.
@B..B. 11 ай бұрын
@@diegosaqui1278 the Olympic modality will create success, fact. But the cost? The Olympics have an history of changing and creating rules for the sports don't look like the same. Some styles hold a good spot on not being thrashed like judo, that lost things similar to wrestling. Some didn't, like taekwondo that become kicktag, and karate when you win by being KOed. Sanda is truly amazing and the rules are already a bit strange for the use of the boxe gloves that are to some extent a limitation. God knows what bizarre changes they will force to make sanda become an olympic sport. And by being famous the grew in the practitioners of the style will be in the Olympic modality. Again, looks at taekwondo, an art that once have a strong foundation and a real danger, but at every new generation of fighters they become less of what they are supposed to be, figthers. I hope for the success and fame of sanda, is a good sport with great ways of applications. But I will hope it make a way to the top by not being Olympic

The two things I noticed was: __1__ Ramsey's really strong stance. __2__ That shepherd's hook with his foot --- I have not noticed that before, but it looks effective I didn't know that you had to stay on your feet in a takedown to score in Sanda. The points of Sanda are: 1 point all the punches, low kicks and takedown if you follow the opponent 2 points all the kicks above the hip , all throws without kneeling to the floor and pushing the opponent out of the platform. Watch Cung Le's old highlights. Sanda/Sanshou has some crazy type of throws. The one I love is when he catches the kick and spins for a single leg whip down.

@@MMAShredded You really have to give competitive Sanda a try. It's way easier on the body too. One round is 2 minutes and a lot of matches end in just 2 rounds if one fighter wins both the 1st and 2nd round. If not there is a 3rd round. So a total of 6 minutes max per match. These are the rules even for world championships. You really have to give it a go

Brother Ramsey you eat a lot of hits in this match. Good going on rolling on a lot of the fists. Also amazing take-down defense! I love seeing a horse stance put to use! Jeff is a beast too. Real stamina and tactical king.

Wow, Ramsey is actually a lot better than I thought! I love the guy, but I usually thought of him a bit more as a coach than a fighter, because when you see him spar it seems very slow and awkward. But here he is managing to keep up with Jeff! This is awesome!

Skull injury and a blind spot will do that to you 💀🥲, still evidently an amazing coach, and here he's shown what he can do sleep deprived so he's legit in my book!

I always thought that was down to most of the footage on his channel being him working with his own students. It is really interesting to see him go up a gear with guys like Jeff though.

He did not keep up with Jeff. Jeff could have ended it any time he wanted to, he was tagging him at will and pulled back on all his punches

You look so fun to spar with keeping it light but reasonable it’s a great way to learn it’s hard to find people who are willing to trade shots like this without building some ego I like letting my partner work I don’t mind getting hit as long as we arnt trying to beat each other to death I’ve been in gym wars enough 😂

The rules I fought under. Your knees could touch the ground as long as you complete the technique and your opponent touches first. I have had matches In Barbados and Pan Ams In Argentina. I didn't do worlds 2019 so the rules could be a little different home land China. Enjoyed the Video as usual. Much love Jeff/ Ramsey

Throws and takedowns give the most score in Sanda but Sanda fighters must execute them in haste because of the ruleset. Sanda is great for anyone who loves the art of transitioning from "striking to QUICK TAKEDOWN" ...yes, not sloppy but... QUICK TAKEDOWN ( can be pretty explosive to do so ) or pushing you hard to land on the nearest surface. Great thank to both Jeff and Ramsey for making this !!!

Very cool, your natural style is very similar to Sanda @MMAShredded, including surprise attacks that come from traditional Kung Fu mainly. Another cool point is that Sanda is the sporty and modern version of Kung Fu, thank you very much for helping to spread this martial art. Zabit Magomedsharipov was the best representative of the martial art in the UFC along with Muslim Salikhov and Zhang Weili
