Finally, a video in Vietnamese! 😮 I've had 2 conversational lessons so far, so I'm still a beginner. In this video, I do my homework, which is to write a basic paragraph about my daily life. I made a lot of mistakes (which I only noticed after my tutor fixed it), so if you spot something halfway, please just watch until the end first!

I'm so glad that you're still into my native language and I fully appreciate your efforts! Vietnamese is just beautiful but weird at the same time. As a Vietnamese who speaks English and studies Korean, I suddenly want to be friends with you in real life to help you with your Vietnamese haha.

I am now learning Vietnamese too. It is my first language I have tried to learn as an adult. I am finding the process fascinating, seeing something that looks like gibberish and then revisiting it a week or two later and seeing the same text completely differently and not being able anymore to see it as gibberish. It is like magic.

I do not translate into English because I guess you will try someway to understand it. You just consider it a small challange. Tôi đã theo dõi bạn kể từ video: " Cô gái Nam Phi nói 10 thứ tiếng" và tôi biết bạn đặc biệt thích cách phát âm của tiếng Việt và tiếng Hungary. Tiếng Việt thực sự rất khó với những người ít làm quen với những ngôn ngữ có âm điệu. Tiếng Việt đặc biệt còn khó hơn vì bạn phải học ngôn ngữ "2 trong 1" cùng 1 lúc: tiếng Việt miền Bắc và tiếng Việt miền Nam. Có vẻ như giáo viên của bạn đến từ miền Nam hoặc tiếng Việt của cô ấy đã bị lai căng. Tôi khuyên bạn nếu muốn học tốt tiếng Việt bạn nên học giọng chuẩn Hà Nội vì người nói giọng chuẩn Hà Nội họ sẽ không phát âm sai bất cứ điều gì trong tiếng Việt. Giọng chuẩn Hà Nội cũng thực sự rất hay, dễ nghe và lôi cuốn, nhiều người Việt Nam đã công nhận điều đó. Họ sẽ nói "ăn sáng" thay vì "ăng sáng", "thể dục" thay vì "thể dzục", "giờ" thay vì "dzờ". Tôi không nói những điều trên là sai nhưng nó sẽ giúp bạn không bị băn khoăn khi đặt dấu trong tiếng Việt cũng như phát âm sao cho đúng. Sau khi học tốt " tiếng Việt Hà Nội" bạn có thể tiếp thu được tiếng Việt miền Nam vì nó không khác biệt quá lớn. Tôi chúc bạn học tốt tiếng Việt nhé, tôi mãi là 1 fan cứng của bạn. Yêu bạn rất nhiều <3.

Tôi đã học tiếng việt được một nam vì vợ của tôi đến từ thành phố Sài gòn. Hơn nữa, cuối nam ngoại đã lần đâu thặm Việt nam. Tôi cũng đang học tiếng nhật ở đại học. Nói thật là...Tiếng việt khó lắm! Theo tôi nó khó hơn tiếng nhật. Nhất là khi phát âm, phát âm tiếng việt khác dễ sợ. Tôi còn nghe thì hiểu nhưng nói thì không giỏi. Tôi giới thiệu một Channel gọi "tung thanh ly vietnam". Channel của anh ấy giỏi lắm. Tôi nghĩ tiếng việt của chị Lindie rất giỏi sâu khi chỉ 3 lớp thôi.

Chị Linh làm tốt lắm ákk!!! Generally I can understand what you were saying but I think you should improve your tones more. I also suppose you should notice the way you stress a word in a sentence. I think the way you stress is more like Korean and English than Vietnamese. But I think you can fix that. Keep your good job!! Love from VN :3

as a Vietnamese person, you are honestly doing really well just staring out! Tbh you’ll probably get better than me in no time because my Viet sucks and it’s kinda sad that I started speaking less Viet as a grew older. I feel like the hardest part in learning Viet is even how to say certain accents or getting the hang of writing some words out that don’t normally look like English words or look how they sound. When I saw the title of this video it really caught my attention because I haven’t seen anyone try to learn Viet (there are prob many ppl out there I haven’t seen learning Viet) and I wish you good luck on your journey!

This is my first time watching a foreigner learning my mother tongue, it's so fascinating. You're doing well, Lindie! Anw, vietnamese grammar, sentence structure and expression are generally similar to chinese, so after awhile, I think you will pick up vietnamese very fast. Just some points for u to note, u seems to get mixed up the pronunciation for "vowel + n" vs "vowel + nh" eg ăn & anh. Hope u have fun learning vietnamese!!!
