Those bit rate settings, 30-40, are very high which makes for large file sizes and slower exporting. 8-12 work great for just about everything. KZfaq recommends 8-bit rate at 1080p.

Bro how much Ram do I need to render 1 hours video with a lot of effects? Should I maybe render it in parts( like 6x10 minutes and create these 6 videos separately, later on putting them on 1 timeline and render as ready files?) or it will take down my quality if I make a video out of already made video?

so when using the preview method, settings in the export window should remain the same? Am I understanding this correctly? But when you want your final copy to use for youtube you bypass the preview method and set the custom settings for the highest quality?

Hi. When exporting using smart rendering, the export settings must match the video preview settings. I use "Match Sequence Settings" for the preset. Make sure the Using Previews button is enabled. Your export will be a ProRes file, not an H.264 file. You can upload that directly. Caution: it takes a longer time to upload than an H.264 file. You can also create an H.264 from the ProRes master if you are pressed for time. I hope the advice helps. Return with any questions. Thx, ^KM

Thank you so much! Took a bit of fiddling but this comment saved me! There is an option in the Export panel that literally says "Match sequence preview settings" or something like that --- I also love how it uses Prores 422 HQ as the file base, which means quality is UP and render times are DOWN! Had an estimated wait time of 4-5 hours and it took it all the way down to just 12 minutes! (I'm rendering 8 hour long videos hahaha)

But when you are planning to use previews, you have to wait every single time when you need to render preview

*have to wait longer for preview, so maybe the export will be faster, but the editing is gonna be slower

@@Motivacehadr-db2kj Yep, it seems like it is a trade off. Doesn't really help in the long term. If I have a long video to render, I opt to just do it overnight. It's really sad because my Premiere Pro 2019 rendered faster. Now I'm on 2023 and it's awful.
