Nice overview on these. We have heard of the issues with cracking but we were unsure of exactly where that was happening. Does look like the sping pocket was the issue. The extra bushing sleeves are for s10s which have a larger bolt.

Make sure you grease this often, my buddy has a set on a 67 Camaro same type bushings. They wear out quick.

Thanks for the input! I wonder if they can be replaced with polyurethane bushings?

I’m going to install tubular control arms on my ‘55 Chevy Nomad. My Dad kept a sign on his desk that said, “the bitterness of poor quality remains longer than the sweetness of low price”. Yes, the price was good but you spent a fair amount of your time chasing stuff back and forth. Too much work to install these only to have to tear the whole thing apart to replace with what maybe should have been purchased at the start.

Good video. Are they lighter than the stock stamped upper and lower arms?

Yes, this set of control arms are several pounds lighter than the stock ones.

Just moved the shop to a new location over the past few months. So haven't been able to install these yet. But its the first thing on my list to do as far as videos. So hopefully in the next 30 days.

Not sure. I would contact Speedway Motors directly and see if they can help.

Does anyone have a comparison of these uppers vs the stock uppers in terms of length, on my s10 I’m running UMI lowers with stock uppers unfortunately and I’m having to run a massive stack of washers to get just barely 0 degrees of camber so I’m wanting to know how much shorter if at all these uppers are. If they are shorter I’d much rather get these then spend $700 on the UMI uppers

I've measured mine from the back of the cross-shaft (the side the nut fastens) to the outer edge of where the upper ball joint mounts and its almost exactly 10 inches. I'd be happy to send you a pic if you have an email I can send it to. Hope this helps.

@g3garage4 ай бұрын
@@savagepickle0443 I would say just measure your own stock uppers. G Body uppers may be slightly different.

Unfortunately the upper and lower kit is not available. Only the uppers can be purchased at this time. They are working with the manufacturer to correct a design flaw with the lower spring pocket. Here is the link for the uppers that are still available. Hope this helps. www.speedwaymotors.com/1982-04-S10-G-Body-Tubular-Upper-Control-Arms-Kit-Powdercoated,452451.html
