Spider-Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He has been featured in comic books, television shows, films, video games, novels, and plays.
Spider-Man's secret identity is Peter Benjamin Parker, a teenage high school student and an orphan raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York City after his parents Richard and Mary Parker died in a plane crash. Lee and Ditko had the character deal with the struggles of adolescence and financial issues and gave him many supporting characters, such as Flash Thompson, J. Jonah Jameson, and Harry Osborn; romantic interests Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and the Black Cat; and enemies such as the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom. In his origin story, Spider-Man gets his superhuman spider-powers and abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider; these include superhuman strength, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability, coordination, and balance, clinging to surfaces and ceilings like a spider, and detecting danger with his precognition ability called "spider-sense". He also builds wrist-mounted "web-shooter" devices that shoot artificial spider-webs of his own design, which are used both for fighting and for web-swinging across the city. Peter Parker originally used his powers for his own personal gain, but after his Uncle Ben was killed by a thief that Peter did not stop, he began to use his powers to fight crime by becoming the superhero known as Spider-Man.
Marvel has featured Spider-Man in several comic book series, the first and longest-lasting of which is The Amazing Spider-Man. Over the years, the Peter Parker character developed from a shy, nerdy New York City high school student to a troubled but outgoing college student, to a married high school teacher to, in the late 2000s, a single freelance photographer. In the 2000s, he joins the Avengers. Doctor Octopus also took on the identity for a story arc spanning 2012-2014, following a body swap plot in which Peter appears to die.[9] Marvel has also published comic books featuring alternate versions of Spider-Man, including Spider-Man 2099, which features the adventures of Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of the future; Ultimate Spider-Man, which features the adventures of a teenage Peter Parker in the alternate universe; and Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, which depicts a teenager named Miles Morales who takes up the mantle of Spider-Man after Ultimate Peter Parker's apparent death. Miles later became a superhero in his own right and was brought into mainstream continuity, where he sometimes works alongside Peter.
Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes.[10] He has appeared in countless forms of media, including several animated TV series: the first original animated series Spider-Man with Paul Soles voicing Spider-Man, a live-action television series, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and multiple series of films. Spider-Man was first portrayed in live-action by Danny Seagren in Spidey Super Stories, a recurring skit on The Electric Company from 1974 to 1977.[11] In live-action films, Spider-Man has been portrayed by actors Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, by Andrew Garfield in two films directed by Marc Webb,[12] and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Tom Holland. Reeve Carney originally starred as Spider-Man in the 2010 Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.[13] Spider-Man was also been voiced by Jake Johnson and Chris Pine in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man has been well-received as a superhero and comic book character. He is often ranked as one of the most popular and iconic comic book superheroes of all time and in all of fiction.

An interesting fact (idk if I can say fun fact for this) of Toei Spider-Man's first episode is that Shinji Todo (Takuya's actor)'s father sadly passed away when the episode was being filmed. That's why Takuya's emotion when he witnessed his father's death was so raw bc Shinji Todo let out all of his sorrow at that exact moment. My heart... 😭

This show was so rad dude. Given the time period and what they had to work with, Toei whooped ass making this. I also appreciate that Professor Monster ended up being an easy win; it makes sense that someone who would hide behind their more powerful minions (Amazoness) and manipulate others to do their dirty work would ultimately prove weak.

I'm just happy Tokusatsu Spider-Man will be in Beyond The Spiderverse and team up with Peni; the series is too beautiful in terms of ham! Anyways, it would be cool if a future MvC game would acknowledge Tokusatsu Spider-Man. On the other hand, we have a Japanese live action actor playing Spider-Man aside from the voice actors playing the character I recognize(whether it's the VA of Spider-Man from the 90s cartoon, Josh Keaton in Spectacular Spider-Man, Yuri Lowenthal in the Insomniac games, Quinton Flynn in the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Robbie Daymond in the 2017 reboot cartoon, and Drake Bell in Ultimate Spider-Man ugh 😣).

Basically Spider-Verse ground zero. The Spidey franchise owes a lot to this show. At first the idea of wacky toku version of Spider-Man sounds fun in an ironic way, but as I genuinely got into toku, working my way into this show was actually exciting in a totally genuine way. It's good toku! Anyone who disses this show for not being comic accurate is just a clown, imo.

If Toei Spider-Man is set to appear on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, I wish he'd be speaking both english and Japanese. For the global release, I'd like him to speak english with a bit of a Japanese so that he could connect with the casts better and get his moral messages across better through his dialogues, as well. I know it'd probably be funny if he also has yellow subtitle letters whenever he speaks Japanese, but there's also another reason for this; the Japanese release of Spider-Verse movies are PACKED with well-known voice actors, especially from the anime industry. That's why I believe that is where Shinji Todo could come in to voice Toei Spider-Man in regular Japanese dub.

With how everything goes, I have a lot, and I emphasize, A LOT of hopes for Toei Spider-Man's appearance in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Tokusatsu hero is a franchise made with a moral message in mind, so I believe Takuya's character in BTSV should represent the counsel, the advice, and perhaps the answer that the casts needed to solve their problems from Miles, Gwen, Miles' team, and even Miguel and his team. Not only that, Takuya's character should also WORK, that he's a highly respected member of the Spider Society known for his strength not only as a Spider-Man, but also with his profound wisdom. I can see the other Spider-People looking up to him, and even Miguel considering Takuya as one of his closest colleagues despite the differences of their own mindsets. That being said, I think Takuya could also serve as the foil to Miguel O'hara as a senior Spider-Man, where he's more welcome with Miles wanting to "do his own thing", believing in his potential and wanting to see it all for himself. However at the same time, I'd love to see Takuya as the one who UNDERSTANDS both sides of the Spider Society, challenging Miles to test his mettle and see if Miles has the guts, the resolve to do what he set out to do: stop the Spot, save his father, and perhaps change the fate of Spider-Verse as a whole for better or worse. For example, I can imagine Takuya saying: "Miles, you're about to do something that no Spider-People has ever done before, not even me. You're going to fight against fate itself. The question is, are you prepared to fail?" And as for Miguel, I can imagine him having an emotional fight with Miguel and say something like: "I know why you're doing all of this Miguel. But, there's no point in stopping Miles, now. He's going to do what a Spider-Man would do. It'll be HIS responsibility. And if he fails, we can only hope for the best." I can also see him have a strong bond with Peni Parker, and I hope he gets to hug and comfort her, especially with how she looked in ATSV. With his motivation, Takuya could turn Peni from an Evangelion protag to a Gurren Lagann protag. I'm CERTAIN of it. 🤩😆😂 I hope both Toei Spider-Man and Leopardon would receive an updated design, following modern Tokusatsu hero aesthetics while keeping their core design elements intact at the same time. With LOTS of people anticipating Toei Spider-Man's inclusion in Beyond the Spider-Verse, I believe that would garner more interest from the general populace to go and check out more Tokusatsu hero shows, not just the titular hero himself, but the others as well. People and Marvel could learn a thing or two from more Tokusatsu shows and use the lessons learned from them to IMPROVE THEMSELVES from their art, storytelling, and especially THEIR OWN LIVES. That is the core of a Tokusatsu hero show, something that they DESPERATELY need now. Lastly, with Toei Spider-Man's inclusion in Beyond the Spider-Verse, I hope people would learn that Japanese Tokusatsu hero shows shouldn't always be regarded as an object of ridicule with its out of context clips, but as an inspirational work of art worth an entire study.

As a long time Tokusatsu fan, I've finally gained a newfound appreciation towards Takuya Yamashiro AKA Toei Spider-Man. You see, Toei Spider-Man is exactly how Marvel should've expand the Spider-Verse franchise. They went all in with the story, the gadgets, vehicles, and even with a giant robot while keeping the suit design and the core theme of the story similar to that of the comics. After all, if Spider-Man is designed to be an every-man hero, that anyone could wear the mask, then WHY does it always have to be Peter Parker? Why do they have to rehash Peter Parker's story all over again when they could've expand the roster just like how Tokusatsu hero series did EVERY SINGLE YEAR? This is why I believe that the western media (especially superhero franchises) should learn more from Tokusatsu hero franchises. They kept on bringing new casts, new stories and even new toys to sell, all the while keeping their series' core themes consistent at the same time. That's the level of craft that I believe the western superhero media had been lacking for too long. If anything else, this just proves that the western media (particularly the US live action Spidey series) still underestimated kids, thinking that they're too young, too stupid and too weak to tackle on heavy themes in a superhero TV series. Toei Spider-Man (and Toku hero shows in extension) didn't shy away from those heavy themes. While the gore level was that of a daily Tokusatsu show, they still crafted their story with heart, with a moral message in mind that despite being aimed towards kids, could still be digested by adults, as well. That's what we call as an Evergreen media. However, the sad part is that Toei Spider-Man has been treated as a butt-end of a joke by jaded comic book fans as they kept on making fun of him no thanks to them only watching out of context clips and not to mention the shenanigans they did to him on his comic appearances after decades of obscurity. I mean, what do you expect from a racist country, am I right? 😅😂 That's why I can only hope that Sony Animation would do his character justice should he appear on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, complete with a good character writing and an updated design for both his suit and Leopardon following modern Tokusatsu hero suits like those of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

@alfianfawzi2064
@alfianfawzi2064 11 ай бұрын
@@Gnidel I'm 1000% on board with this, as well. Not to mention that the current Toku hero landscape is also filled to the brim with gadgets and mechas. They could use both to help enhance the story with its lore and mechanism, enrich the Spider Hero's personality with their gimmicks and variations, as well as boosting the toy sales. Among the examples that I believe could serve as the blueprint are Marvel Disk Wars (the DISKs as collectible trinkets and possibly transformation item), Marvel Mech Strike and previously Megamorphs (they went ham in with their mechas there, as the name suggests). All that's left is to find the right people/crew with the knowledge of Tokusatsu hero elements and the heart and power to make it happen.

Supaidaman actually inspired Sentai in a lot of ways. It introduced the mecha/zord concept which Sentai actually used later on in Battle Fever J and every Sentai season since up to Ohsama Sentai Kingohger has used it. Supaidaman also gave way to Stan Lee trying to bring Kamen Rider to the west which happened for a little bit before being heavily overshadowed when Toei and Saban came to a deal that would let Toei continue making Sentai seasons, but in the west, Saban would take footage from Sentai seasons and adapt it into Power Rangers. Doesn't actually seem like PR will be adapting newer Sentai seasons for much longer since the deal they had is coming to a close.

Actually, no, Himitsu Sentai Goranger came out in 1975, about 3 years before Supaidaman, what Supaidaman actually inspires is the mecha/megazord format for the show. Starting with Battle Fever J, each Sentai team has their own mechs to battle the giant monsters
@Mitchy.
@Mitchy. 11 ай бұрын
@disgustedfinn3069 yeah I meant the mecha format but I guess I worded it weird. Kinda funny how in the early years of Sentai (late 70s mid 80s) there was lots of changes as to what was officially considered the first Sentai. Kept switching between Goranger and BFJ before Goranger was officially settled on.
