@@vinnievu1 had he been in homecoming, they'd have done it well. As it is, I'm glad they didn't because, in a way, you can imagine that homecoming is actually a sequel to the original Spider-Man film (or at least some alternate version of it). Also the obvious reason - everyone, literally EVERYONE who has ever been even vaguely interested in spider-man knows how he got his powers and about uncle Ben.

Funny thing is, I was spoiled on this before I saw the movie, someone said Michelle's full name was Michelle Toomes and I spent all movie wondering when the twist was gonna happen. It didn't hit me until the absolute last moment when Peter was walking towards Liz' house that I was fake spoiled and I knew what was gonna happen when the door opens. I love it!

TheBoss222R No, no, I meant I got fake spoiled, there were spoilers going around before release that Michelle's full name was Michelle Toomes. So over the course of the movie, I was looking for that twist when I watched the movie. It wasn't until Peter was heading up to Liz's house that it all clicked for me that the spoiler was fake and that Liz was the actual daughter.

@danielwood6833
@danielwood6833 6 жыл бұрын
Honestly that theme was one of the reasons I walked out disappointed the first time I saw this movie. The trailers made me think the Spidey sections would be small scale but still really epic but they were too far and too short and too few. And the 60's theme felt mismatched from the movie this was, if this was a more epic Spidey movie or if it had better action then it would've felt more suited. thus I had false given expectations and was severely disappointed

A lot of people seem to have missed the info on Glover when Spiderman´s AI scanned him. It said the characters name and beside it "aka Prowler". As Marvel fans know, he is a villain turned good guy by Spiderman. And in a sense we saw Spiderman kind of turn him from kind of a bad guy to a good guy in this movie. So Glover isnt just Morales uncle (if he even is, I dont know where that info came from, just hear everybody say he is), he is in fact the future Prowler from the comics. We will see him again ;-) You dont hire Glover for a little role as he had in this movie.

@jddn4253
@jddn4253 6 жыл бұрын
mohammed al-mosawi Pete loved the avenger version super spidey suit, but he declined it because he felt he would give up the very soul/essence of "spiderman" - Peter Parker. He discovered during his panick mode being pinned down under tremendous weights the real super strength of Spiderman was the super human courage of Peter Parker - himself. But after the Vulture threatens to harm Peter's loveones to blackmail and keep Peter in check, Pete realized his secret identity must stay secret. And because he knew he's still learning more and more about his special abilities, so until he knows more of what he can and really can't do he might be putting the Avengers team at risks, as well. He made a very wise choice in turning down Tony Stark, given all he experienced shown in this movie. But, not to worry, that Avengers super Spiderman suit revealed to Peter to get Peter to join them will be worn by Tom Holland when he help the Avengers battle Thanos in the Infinity Wars.
@krispyasfk2567
@krispyasfk2567 6 жыл бұрын
Jd Dn He didn't reject the suit though, the one that was waiting for him on his bed at the end was the one he'd been wearing the whole movie, which had all the Iron Man tech in it, the black and red one at the end was just an upgraded version. He rejected being an Avenger because he wanted to help the little guy, it literally had nothing to do with the suit.

Luke Cage I absolutely loved the scenes with Peter and Toomes before Homecoming because the nonverbal acting is just so great. You look at Peter's face and can see he's scared out of his mind and is trying to figure out what to do. Meanwhile Toomes is just gesturing with a knife which is a thing most dads would probably do in that situation but knowing he's a villain just gives it a more serious edge. And when they're in the car you can look at Toome's face and see his thought process as he puts everything together in his head and realizes that Peter is definitely Spider-Man.

You could also interpret the green as him being envious towards Peter like the phrase "Green with envy". But it could be a call back of sorts to how his face is green when he's in the vulture suit and now that he's figured out who Peter is hes back in vulture mode ready to kill.
@reallynow5357
@reallynow5357 6 жыл бұрын
I see it more like he's too much in the zone that he's momentarily disconnected from reality. Then part of what makes the whole thing more tense is that Liz starts to look confused, looks at peter, looks at his dad, as if she was figuring things out herself that something odd is going on. But then she proceeds to say "Dad, the light", which brings everyone back to reality. Soo goood...

There's this moment in the comics, some fans call it one of the best Spiderman moments in history, where he's trapped under a fallen roof support thingy and isn't able to lift it off him. He gives up, accepts his fate, then realises there are bigger things at work than him and musters his strength like "fuck this shit, I'm Spiderman" and lifts it off himself. Was that scene in the movie a reference to that? Of all the reviews I've watched I haven't seen it mentioned.

Aerovetic i think your refering to the comic where spidermsn hunts down doc oc because he harmed aunt may and had an antidote to save her from this illness. Enraged he finds his secret layer underwater and began recklessly fight doc oc. Eventually spiderman unknownly broke one of the support beams and the structure fell on spiderman. Doc oc had fled the scene leaving behind the antidotes and Peter was ironically stuck there with the cure in had but because of his rash decision he and aunt may would die. He was at his lowest point. Mind you to it waa underwater so the water was coming in fast, he wouldve drowned if he didnt get out. He found his limit and couldn't left the stuff off of himself and until then he had never had to deal with something this heavy, but this is why i love spiderman cus of what he does next. Verbatim of what you see in homecoming he does a push up and begins to move the structure off of himself. He gets to a substantial position where he was able to throw it off of himself. Its a really amazing comic you should definitely read it.

In the credit scene, when Tombs talks to scorpion, he hid Peters name because Peter saved him from burning to death in their fight scene. Think about it, he let Peter pass during his date with Liz because he saved her life. It would only make sense if that were the reason.
@Flaris
@Flaris 6 жыл бұрын
That's how I interpreted it. Peter saved his life. He's in jail now, but at least he's not dead. His family means everything to him and he can at least have visits with them. Something he couldn't do from the afterlife.

I think the reason is a bit more complex than "he saved my life, I owe him one". Remember what Vulture said to him in the limo? He'd go after the people in Peter's life, meaning family and friends. Fast forward to the prison scene when Scorpion asks about Spiderman's identity, it was right there and then Vulture knew exactly what would happen if he told Spiderman's identity. Scorpion would most likely go after his family and friends, Liz being one them. He wasn't doing it to protect Spiderman, he did it to protect his family. That's my theory anyway.

Wonder Woman fleshed out what characters? It fleshed out Hades's mustache? Or the stereotype war group featuring cliche irish, "native" american, middle-east man and action hero? C'mon... that movie had a good start, the charm of Captain Kirk and the visual charisma of WW1. Other than that, Gadot is a godawful actress, villains are terrible, cheap CGi, etc.. The movie completely falls apart after the no man's land scene.

This movie had SO much heart! And it was funny, and beautiful, and holy cow it was just so great to see Spider-Man be a kid! I felt like that was what he struggled with - is he a kid or is he hero, because everyone and everything is telling him he can't be both. Utilizing Tony Stark and showing what this is to him, also a delight, and also so heartwarming to see him back with Pepper! This movie is SO WELCOME after the miserable chapter of Civil War. Vulture pretty clearly stated family matters most to him, and Peter saving him means that he gets to still see his family (even if it's just prison visits) and to know they're safe, to not abandon them in death and leave them alone to suffer for his crimes, and since he's an absolutely fantastic well rounded and intelligent character and not a cliche villain, he knows that and is happy to pay Peter back for it. Which is why he's one of the best Marvel super villains we've seen in forever.

This movie was great. I really loved how it was a funny high school comedy for the most part, but when it did get serious, it was damn good. The building falling and car scenes for example. So good. I also really liked how even though Tony wasn't in it much, he had some really good character development. He mentions multiple time how he feels like his dad when he lectures to Peter and you see on his face how he hates that. Its so well done. The only problems I really have with the movie are the MJ reveal. I agree that didn't feel right and Michelle doesn't feel like she could be MJ AT ALL, but we'll see how it goes. I also wish there would have been more of a fight between Vulture and Peter. He mostly just kinda gets his ass kicked the whole time which was a bit of a bummer. I could have done with a little more fight scenes in general

Stark is the father figure to a 15 year old kid with no parents who also, very likely, saw his beloved uncle die in front of him. Of course he is going to have a major influence on Peter. Stark was also probably actually in the movie maybe six or seven minutes out of two plus hours; he was in no way whatsoever over relied on for anything. You're just being contrary for the sake of it.

I get the Vulture's stance in the last scene. Peter saved his life. He had reasons not to save his life (knowing who he is), but he did it anyways. And thanks to that he can still interact with his family. Sure it is from jail, but it's better than being dead. Now maybe gloves are off if/when he gets out of jail. But, he's not going to stab Peter in the back.

Stormio they don't even have to make him the villain for the next Spider-Man movie, if they introduced him, Oscorp, and Harry in the next movie they could slowly build it up through phase 4 in the movies and Netflix shows that his company is taking over NYC, maybe having after credits scenes of his slow turn into the Goblin and then they could lead it into him bringing together the Dark Avengers or the Sinister Six, they could just simply use him for a 3rd or even 4th Spider-Man film, or even use him like a Doctor Doom replacement since they don't have the rights to that character

The rubble scene...oh my god the rubble scene. Like you said, it truly emphasis what Peter is. A kid. I don't know about anyone else but to me when he called out for help it absolutely broke my heart. Ii couldn't help but to want to jump through the screen and help him myself! Tom's acting in this scene is phenomenal. Hands down one of the best scenes in the movie.

The scene with Peter under the rubble was superb. As a teenager, it was very relatable to see someone my age try to grow up too quickly and try to be independent and take on responsibilities, only to receive and rude awakening. It truly made Spidey feel like someone I could go to school with- just another kid who thinks they're wiser than they really are. His character growth in that scene alone was worth the price of admission.

Ian Ugale I really doubt it. I didn't notice it myself, but the article said there was a picture of a tiger behind Zendaya as she gave the "call me MJ" line. Clearly, an allusion to the classic that is the "tiger" nickname. She's not Mary Jane, but she is MJ-it's that simple, she is MJ. I really doubt they're going to bait and switch by bringing in Mary Jane, not when they already have this new character with the same initials, it would be a complete waste of time and, in my honest opinion, an insult to Zendaya.

Donald Glover is the Prowler! Kenneth Choi is in the movie as the principle. He played Jim Morita, of the Howling Commando from Captain America. In this film he is the grandson and Principal at the school. You can see a photo of Kenneth as his grandfathers in the office. I would have never noticed that if I didn't watch Cap on the 4th of July.

Wreak havock Also in Spiderman 1 when Peter confronts the green goblin, they start talking which the goblin used as a distraction so he could impale Spiderman from behind with his glider which Spiderman dodges by doing a backflip. The same thing happens when Peter confronts the vulture about his plan and the vulture monologues so he can also try to impale Peter with his wings which this version also dodged by doing a backflip

Great review! My only problem with the movie is that Peter's concern is mainly to be useful and prove himself to Tony Stark. Sure he does what he does for the greater good, but his ulterior-motive is constantly to impress the Avenger's top guy, which switches his "selfless" personality a bit. Twice during the movie he get's saved/lectured by Stark, and acts like a total newbie with the suits AI (which seemed to do 50% of the work) - it just felt weird. I would have preferred for Peter to be successful in the ferry scene, the stakes were high enough and the consequences bad enough for Stark to get the suit back as a lesson and cancel the "internship". It wasn't necessary in the context of the film for Stark to save the day and belittle Spiderman like he did.. they could have at least teamed up to succeed. In short, at moments, Peter Parker felt like a secondary hero in his own story, in the shadow of Stark and his tech.
