The fictional character Spider-Man, a comic book superhero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and featured in Marvel Comics publications, has currently appeared in ten live-action films since his inception, not including fan made shorts and guest appearances in other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Spider-Man is the alter-ego of Peter Parker, a talented young freelance photographer and aspiring scientist imbued with superhuman abilities after being bitten by a radioactive/genetically-altered spider.
The first live-action film based on Spider-Man was the unauthorized short Spider-Man by Donald F. Glut in 1969. This was followed by Spider-Man, an American made-for-television film that premiered on the CBS network in 1977. It starred Nicholas Hammond and was intended as a backdoor pilot for what became a weekly episodic TV series.
The rights to further films featuring the character were purchased in 1985, and moved through various production companies and studios before being secured by Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia Pictures) for $10 million (plus 5% of any movies' gross revenue and half the revenue from consumer products),[1] who hired Sam Raimi to direct Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Spider-Man 3 (2007) starring Tobey Maguire. The first two films were met with positive reviews from critics, while the third film received a more mixed response.
In 2010, Sony announced that the franchise would be rebooted. Marc Webb was hired to direct, with Andrew Garfield starring, and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) was released to positive reviews. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) saw mixed reviews.
In February 2015, Disney, Marvel Studios and Sony announced a deal to share the Spider-Man film rights, leading to a new iteration of Spider-Man being introduced and integrated into the MCU. The deal allows Sony to distribute and have final creative control over MCU films where Spider-Man is the main character, while Disney distributes the ones where he is not. Tom Holland portrays this younger version of Spider-Man, appearing in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), as well as the sequel to Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). All of Spider-Man's MCU appearances have received positive reviews thus far.
Plans for an animated Spider-Man film were officially announced by Sony in April 2015. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) combines Sony Pictures Imageworks' computer animation pipeline with traditional hand-drawn comic book techniques, inspired by the work of Miles Morales's co-creator Sara Pichelli. Completing the animation required up to 140 animators, the largest crew ever used by Sony Pictures Animation for a film. Into the Spider-Verse received universal acclaim, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and becoming the highest-rated film in the Spider-Man franchise, surpassing Spider-Man 2.
Raimi's trilogy grossed $2.5 billion worldwide on a $597 million budget, while Webb's films grossed over $1.4 billion on a $480 million budget. Spider-Man's MCU films (Homecoming and Far From Home) have grossed over $1.9 billion on a $335 million budget and Into the Spider-Verse grossed $375 million on a $90 million budget. The Spider-Man films have grossed over $6.3 billion collectively at the global box office. This includes Far From Home, which became the first film to gross over $1 billion worldwide as well as Sony Pictures' highest-grossing film ever.

While I’ve always loved the MCU Iron Spider, seeing all the other possibilities made me appreciate it more since it has a great balance that none of the other designs had, even the comic accurate suit, which while looks great, doesn’t work well with the story of the MCU Spider-Man since I see each suit as representing where he is as a character.

Apparently he is definitely gone now. It sucks but both sides know the best solution is Spider Man in MCU. I hope they work something out I really do, Sony can take Spider-Man back when he either gets married to MJ or dies. Because then he’s story is finished.

This is probably the first of these Spidey videos where I really liked all of the costumes. Not all of them would translate well to the big screen, maybe, but I think they'd all be awesome suits in the comics. I like the one we got, though.

4:20 reminds me of a design I made for a version of the symbiote suit when I was younger--the idea was that instead of a white spider, the black suit would leave a spider-shaped hole in the chest, revealing the red portion of the traditional suit. I still like that design.

Man I wish they just went and gave us the Iron spider suit, the one we got feels like an over designed normal suit. Of course the actual importance of the suit was lost since the normal spider-suit is packed with stark tech anyway.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗠𝗖𝗨 [Into Venomverse] 1) Peter Parker now works as a News Reporter for Daily Bugle under the alias of Ben Reily. 2) Peter Parker now lives with Randy Robertson in San Francisco. Peter Parker is asked by J Jonah Jameson to interview the New Leader of the Life Foundation, Otto Octavius. Eddie Brock is also asked by Robbie Robertson (Head Of The Front Line) to interview Otto Octavius. That's where these two meet each other. You'd expect the two to be bitter enemies considering they both work for J. Jonah & Robbie. But that isn't the case. They quickly form a brother-like bond and exchange business cards. Peter Parker being the smartass he is, starts asking Otto questions about what he brings to the table. Otto is caught by surprise and asks Peter why he is working as a News Reporter. He tells him, that his doors are always open and that he would love to work with Ben [Peter Parker]. Were made aware that Venom has been acting weird for few days. Were made aware that Venom got split into two when he went to interview Kasady. The Symbiote split into two. The Red Symbiote which got split was the more grim and evil part of Venom who grew sick of Venom's antics. The Black Symbiote which remained was the goofy Venom that we all know and love. Learning this, Eddie heads to the Jail Chamber only to learn that Kasady had escaped with the Symbiote. The movie now cuts to Peter Parker. We see his new life with his roommates. We see a montage of Peter Parker enjoying his retired superhero life. After the montage ends, we see Peter head to Daily Bugle. As he was going, his Spider sense goes off as he sees robbers running down the street. He feels the urge to stop the robbers, but ultimately decides not to engage. [End Of First Act] Please let me know what you think. :) And let me know how you'll fit Spidey into the Venom verse.

But we and they knew they weren't going to bother to commit to the iron-spider suit why not go all in and go for the red and gold while they're at it? The first design at 1:09 would have worked as an in between where it's not an identical suit but very much based off of the original. Why are they perpetually half assing spider-man

Although the white lenses are more comic booky, I prefer the mirrored ones. Mainly because I love Alex Ross' work on Spider-Man. But also because it's more realistic if they are mirrored than opposed to just left white. I think the white is just laziness on the artist's part (obviously everyone after Todd MacFarlane though because how do you make mirrored lenses work on Steve Ditko Spidey?) If they are polarised white lenses then how does Peter see with them at night?

@@izpaks5172 i just looks like the normal suit, but weirdly bumpy. the wrist things are too bulky and the color scheme feels too washed out and jumbled. in fact, there should have been more gold. less blue, more red, maybe some black to accent the spider logo.
