Great video, and a yoke seems nice. However I have carried canoes up to 33 kg / 72 lbs for 50 years now by using a rescue west or sitting pad between my head and the canoe. This does not add any weight at all, and in my mind it's the best way to do it. Your head is made for carrying staff, it has no extra cost, does not add any weight,, just try it :-)

PS! abow 72 lbs, you need to be two persens, but then you put the seats in the canoe on the top of your heads,,

Great video as usual! Still hoping to be able to go to norway from sweden to buy a 12 footer this spring, it is quite messy to get passage for such a "unessential" things with the pandemic and all. I'm hoping to use it quite a lot for solo paddling so i i'm contemplating installing a kneeling thwart, so it would be pretty much the same process as the yoke! And why not install a yoke at the same time now that i'm thinking about it? 😄

Thx for the how to video . Hey I'm looking for a local dealer to purchase a 12 foot long wide stern to add a trolling motor . I'm from southern Ct . Thank you .

Local dealers in the United States are sometimes tricky to find. They are looking to find more throughout the US. The best bet is Kenco out of New York, or white potato lake outfitters in Wisconsin. The both ship anywhere

greetings from new jersey! nice vid as usual! BTW, can i have the name of that adhesive you used for the patch hole repair? If not that particular one, can you recommend one or two? I rivetted an aluminum patch on a hairline crack on the bottom bend right where it meets the side curve (tough spot!) i was looking to slather something over the patch and on the inside too ..thanks!

We use adthane marine sealant but in a pinch no more nails caulking from a hardware store will do the trick as well. Just clean and lightly sand the surface before applying.

On a wide transom what do you recommend on installing a transducer ?

I use a suction cup on my helix 7 and old portable hummingbird. I like removing mine when I drag the canoe around

could you remover that front bar after the yoke install?

If it has webbed seats you'll be fine. If it doesn't you may lose a little rigidity in the gunnel towards the front.
