It's amazed me of how suddenly the story changed a theme but smoothly. The transition from disguise as a sentry-comedy to action sci-fi is perfect.

EMESIS BLUE is teased at 24:41really shows how far they planned ahead, and how long it took to make.

That medic at the end has seen a lot of shit in his life

I'm just gonna dump my thoughts on how this film connects to Emesis Blue here. We can see the duality of Red and Blue in both Emesis Blue and Spy's Disguise; its a lot more obvious in emesis blue where the medic seems to have some sort of alter ego that takes pleasure in violence and killing, signified by a red light, and his normal kind and caring personality, signified by a blue light. In many scenes depicting Medic's internal struggles in Emesis blue one half of his face is bathed in red light while the other half in blue light. This represents the medic's internal struggle between two personalities. In this film, we can see the spy's internal struggle represented by Red and Blue yet again. Spy is on the blue team, yet the part of him that is machine, and that compels him to use his power, is all made out of Red metal. The Red Engineer which seems to almost become a malevolent spirit/trauma is Red, and comes back to haunt him. During the scene where Spy refuses to shake the robotic spy's hand, the spy originally appears to be blue, but is quickly bathed in red light as it tries to coerce Spy into taking his hand. The robotic part of Spy, the part of him that is a ruthless killing machine, bathed in red light, seems to be almost an alter ego to the usual blue Spy that is a bumbling, silly idiot, represented by his usual blue. In Spy's Disguise, we see the Medic assumedly from Emesis blue in an earlier stage of his life (shown by his weathered face and habit of crossing his stars, which he does in Emesis Blue too, seems to have become a regular habit) wearing the cross necklace that he got IN Emesis blue. This implies that the respawn machine warps time and reality itself, which would explain the many paranormal time-loop esque occurrences in Emesis Blue. Perhaps the Respawn Machine degenerates the mercenaries' brains so much that it completely destroys their understanding of time itself. I think this film clears up a lot of the mysteries of Emesis blue, especially the time loop stuff.

The phone call to the Conagher brothers in Emesis Blue connects to the incident that took place here. Dustbowl's mercs was gone because Dell destroyed their respawn machine to do this last battle to the death. Nice touch. I am almost certain Red Engi is Dell because of the other contexts like the slaughterhouse being a RED facility and the brothers being just as twisted as he is. Also pretty sure the BLU medic at the end here is the same as Emesis Blue's due to the fact they both seem to collect tapes and in Emesis Blue the Medic randomly regained his cross necklace while trapped in the slaughterhouse during the Church segment. It is really fun seeing how these connect together along with the general quality of what you guys made. Cheers!

This is like a Tipsy Duck Animation, specifically, how to climb a tree, at first, everything starts off all fun with a hint of seriousness and off putting-ness, then everything gets real, the reality of the situation they’re in, it carves a hole into your head and buries itself in there. And then the end comes, and the dust settles, and it sticks with you.

So...Dell broke the respawn machine which fucked up most of the reds we see in Emesis Blue. The trial tests in that movie done by Archibald were to see if it could be repaired which for the most part it was, but they never came back right. Some were horribly disfigured, others had mental issues...and some were just...wrong. The thing in the briefcase that the other two Cohnager brothers wanted was a respawn beacon, most likely to properly fix the Respawn machine and fix the others, hence why when Spy asks the masked Pyro what he he wants, the pyro simply takes off his mask and shows him his deformed face. They want to fix the Respawn machine and I'm turn fix themselves after Dell's madness. Fritz in Emesis Blue is the same medic seen here, most likely deeply disturbed by the events of this film. He begins taking the emesis drug to help with his schizophrenia which most certainly developed after treating the spy shown in this film. As a result of the testing done by Archibald and the others the blue Scout was most likely brought back via the respawn machine and was one of the few lucky enough to survive it's effects with only brain atrophy, and as a result was most likely released to Fritz to oversee his care, which unfortunately doesn't work out very well due to him taking the emesis drug, but I don't think he's the one who killed Scout's mother or kidnapped him, as we can see the man who actually took him was the formerly red Pyro. That aside we can surmise that the majority of things that happened in Emesis Blue were real, but many of the scenes were simy Fritz slipping further and further into psychosis due to him taking the Emesis drug....my only question left is what the fuck is the drug for?

Seeing emesis blu, I now realize that when the red members members died. It wasn't they just die for now they are dead for ever, with some of them becoming demons like Pyro and Sniper with the other becoming zombies. The only survivor's being Medic, Demo, and possibly the engineer from here.

I imagine the Half Machine Blu Spy was the one Medic talked about to Scout while driving him to where Scout's Mom lives, given that they probably restarted their BLU respawn machine, tried to respawn him to see if they can make Spy a full human, only for the Machine to break down as it can't replicate a Half Man, Half Machine, so it just slopped out some sort of abomination of scrap and flesh.

Holy shit I'm in awe at how amazing this is. The storys captivating, action scenes were top notch, and the quality is great. I really respect that all dialogue was actually in game dialogue. Definitely deserves it's place as one of the best sfms out there.

I love how this is framed sorta like a Quentin Tarantino movie. Aspects like the sheer violence and the way the scenes are split apart by chapters really reminds me of Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds.

This works like a real movie, I can see influence from so many directors like Edgar Wright or Tarantino - without calling attention to itself. My already very high expectations - since fis was working on the animation, were not only fulfilled, but left me with so much inspiration to continue sfm, since you did such good a of a job that I can't see anyone doing ANYTHING better than this in the whole SFM community. Continue to bump the lamp FF!

One of the tapes on the table at 24:41 is called 'Emesis Blue'. Brilliant foreshadowing Fortress Films, you deserve all the Saxxy Awards in the world.

I expected this to be a generic and lighthearted "spy learns to git gud", but I was pleasantly surprised, thank you.

I like to think this is connected with Emesis Blue, In the church scene with Medic confesses in the confessing booth he is given the same Cross Necklace from this video as like a reminder of Spy respawning and getting mental disabilites like Scout (Schizophrenia) and Medic couldnt help Spy (And the red team probably got the same thing Spy got for respawning alot thats why they think hes turning into a sentry too)

This is a real underrated SFM, and it deserves more attention due to how well this SFM is made through minor details that affect certain sequences. For example the bullet getting stuck in the slide jamming the gun, is something that happens and people don’t realize. Or how about the gore effects, they are so realistic then they needed to be but still work for the film. This overall is a well crafted SFM, and deserves more

*_SPOILERS!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED EMESIS BLUE, DON'T CLICK 'SHOW ALL' UNTIL YOU DO SO! This focuses on speculation. Pure unbridled speculation, which may reveal key details of the film in question. So, be advised that there will be spoilers below._* Referring to Shadow Spartan's comment and many, many others, the question nobody seems to be asking is where Engineer and Spy went, if the Medic goes off into Emesis Blue? Is the blue spy in Emesis Blue, the one who gets torched by his own ineptitude, the same cyborg spy here? That doesn't make sense, considering they never used their abilities once, even whilst under capture. So, that leaves the option of Engineer and Spy striking off on their own after basically orchestrating the complete and utter annihilations of the Reds in Dustbowl. Permanently. *With just two people.* Much like the many snipers, I imagine there are more than one of each spy also. But that additionally brings up the question of why there are so many snipers when, in Emesis Blue, it says there's only 9 mercenaries remaining after a set of trials to find which mercenaries synergized with the machine well. Perhaps... were they part of the 91 "dead" trial participants, who ALSO happened to be clones, alongside the two spies? The time frame feels off, considering this is likely a long time prior (after?) Emesis Blue, but it might be possible. Like the Respawn Machine was in testing when it got destroyed. Anyways, this also assumes the person who said that 10th to last trial subject killed themselves perhaps didn't get that detail right, outright lied when he said so, or was simply lied to by the person who told _them_. More realistically, the people who saw the event were the ones deceived. It is kind of the Spy's whole schtick, assuming that the 91st dead trial subject was really Cyborg Spy. Perhaps they _did_ kill themselves? But, instead of actually respawning properly, he only ended up shedding his mortal skin in some way. Maybe even becoming something unholy using the new(?) respawn machine, the computer unable to handle his new-found composition and producing a monstrosity. This scenario, ironically, would leave out the Engineer who I had brought up first. They could've also been the last person. Or, the 90th. Who knows, honestly. There's less to go off of considering I don't ever remember seeing a blue engineer once during the entire thing, and there's not many other details about them, unlike spy and... well, medic. Man I haven't even gone into the medic yet. I originally didn't want to, writing this, but I feel like I kind of have to. I was hesitant since he has some of the strangest lore to sift through and deal with, in regards to the comics and such, and I haven't seen the full comics. He also is in the most chaotic parts of Emesis, which can muss up my memory. But... yeah, medic. How'd he end up where he is? The biggest piece of evidence is the cross necklace. He got his cross in "reality" (the church burning is most likely a metaphor for a sudden adoptment of Christianity, since he didn't actually leave with it on and Pyro had already died when he saw them there) only after dying for the second(?) time, and is seen wearing it from what I can recall. But, theoretically, there is scant reasons lore-wise for how Medic should have DIED died yet. The reasons are... muddled and confusing in a way that I couldn't pin down in 10 minutes of research. But, from what I can understand- and someone please correct me if I'm wrong- the Medic himself should have at least 8 lives after taking the other merc's souls. He MAY have actually implanted everyone's souls back in themselves, but that would be a stretch, as the possible conclusion is immortality, which... oh. Yeah, I'm going to ignore that as it just leads down a darker rabbit hole I can't see the end to. Anyways, this would mean Medic burnt through 6 of the other merc's souls before Emesis Blue even began. This would allow him to die once in Intel, a second time to the Russian Roulette, and a third at the wheel of the ambulance, dying-dying the third time due to the last two souls being used up already, and his own being the only one remaining. Another detail is that, in the time-loop, it kinda-sorta implies that he himself actually killed scout's mom, in the plague doctor outfit. But then, why would the Medic return the briefcase? I don't remember it ever explicitly revealing who it was, but, who knows really. One thing that stands out to me is how there are zombie versions of all the mercs who died in this SFM. Either way, this film makes for some unbelievably interesting speculation when you frame it with Emesis Blue in mind. What started as a sudden-power-increase spy vs. engineer rivalry with heavy comedy early on and a spooky twist turning into one of the most beloved psychological horror films produced in SFM... it's definitely interesting.
