By now you may have noticed how Finns actually speak differently in person than the standard Finnish that’s taught in textbooks 📚
A little confusing right?🥴 Let me show you the difference in this common question “where are you from?”
📕Standard Finnish: “Mistä sinä olet kotoisin?”
🗣Spoken Finnish: “Mistä sä oot kotosi(n)?”

Yes there are few different ways to say the same thing in Finnish. Luckily, you can say either and the other person will understand :)

@@HerFinland for sure , in Australia we have lots of differant ways to say the same thing ,a lot of foreigners don't understand even though we do speak english ,but our version of english

@Her Finland On. Älä levitä disinformaatiota Suomen kielestä. Se, mitä mainitsit, voi olla yleistä puhetapaa jossain Itä-Helsingin alueella, mutta sitä ei voi yleistää koko Suomeen
