Fantastic video and great recommendations, but I would like to give everyone a heads up regarding the sale locations. There is currently a common bug that causes the refresh timer on the terminals to not tick over. Currently, most if not all terminals at the locations in the video are reading as fully stocked, with no demand for any of the profitable illicit cargo. I sincerely hope that anyone trying this method does not run into this bug, but I am currently sitting on an over 10 million credit cargo of Weevil Eggs and Maze after visiting all terms across multiple servers. Best of luck, and don't forget to report it to the issue council on RSI if it happens to you too. (EDIT: Personally confirmed sale of said cargo is now consistently available as of 12/12/23!) o7

Yep unfortunately there was a bug over the weekend that prevented demand from being refreshed at the drug terminals. Fortunately it's fixed now, so any newer servers that are coming online are working properly and plenty of people have been able to sell again!

Yela asteroid ring has a bug where a swarm of CruSec NPCs spawn and attack your bounty, which is really funny when a dozen Mantis and Avengers attack a Hammerhead. Best to wait till one side wins, because flying into that furball has a high chance of getting a CS from shooting or crashing into security

Nice video! For some reason, i have no luck coming across high value drugs like maze and eggs. But i do find a lot of recycled materials composite, turns out they actually pay not that bad at 13k per scu. And they can be sold on major city without worried being griefed. Moreover, the ship i am using is connie andromeda rented from vantage rentals, cuz i am broke😂. I think this is a good ship to allow new players to explore this gameplay loop without breaking the bank.

Yeah absolutely! For high value illegal items like maze and eggs you really want to be checking the ships with large cargo bays like the caterpillars, hercules, and so on. And even then, you can definitely hit an unlucky streak. Once I was doing solo ERTs for about 2 hours with nothing to show for it, and then I got a haul worth 12M aUEC in the next 15 mins. It's inconsistent, but when it hits, it hits. I totally agree that the connie rental is a fantastic ship for letting players try out a variety of things in-game. You can rent a Roc as well and do some moon mining, or you can move cargo around, or you can do combat, or you can salvage ships for their cargo. Plus, I love connies even beyond just an intro ship... so I might be a bit biased lol

When i grind rep to get to vhrt: Inferno - its insane if you have decent aim, how many bounties you can do in a row before restocking ammo and how fast you can do em. Time to kill on the minigun is just insanely fast. When doing vhrt alone: I use my taurus - as many other have said in the comments, its just so good for solo bounty gameplay. When i do duo's, we both run inferno, and one of us goes back to get a cargo ship, when we find a cargo we wanna sell. They could rebalance it a little tho, im at the point where idk what ship to buy in game.

Haha yeah the AD-series gatlings are very strong in this patch ever since they buffed their aim and lowered their spray. I think any ship that can stick the size 5s on is a decent option now and it sort of depends what people like to fly. I myself love connies, so no arguments from me about the Taurus lol

I have been running this game loop for a few months. I love it. The Connie Taurus is the best fighting / cargo balance for solo play. For ERTs I run ballistics but if I just want to chain missions I can run laser cannons for VHRTs and I have gotten some of my best scores on VHRTs. I found a M2 with 160 SCU of Eggs and 20 SCU of maze. That was on a VHRT. Yes the cargo we are finding is probably going to get nerfed. I look forward to server meshing coming into the game. That will allow AI to be much harder. They will be able to adding in some light and medium fighter support for the 3 or 4 larger ships. This could make VHRTs and ERTs into missions that you can only do with multiple people. That would allow them to put these high value cargos back in.

Yeah I'd love that! I'd love for things to be difficult enough to warrant grouping up, and the payments being adjusted to make it worthwhile! Right now its fun that its possible to do solo but I agree, the solo loot should probably be toned down a bit until they can get the missions to be more challenging.

Excellent detailed and well presented vid for those determined to go this route at making lots of aUEC and earning their certs. Ships, C2/Corsair/Taurus are excellent, C2 in my opinion being the best all rounder. Alas, i don't grind, i just lend my mates all the ships, they drop me a few mil aUEC for the privilege. 10/10 for anyone needing a good guide. Kudos

Thank you so much! And yeah I feel you at the corsair, I don't love it either but I can't deny that it feels the best to me for solo. Just the sheer amount of guns lets it not only kill targets faster, but be able to do more missions before reloading. I really wanted the Taurus to come out further ahead though b/c I love connies lol. I wished they let the Taurus stack boxes 4 tall so we could fit more 32 SCU containers on grid

All they have to do for that to happen is remove those missile launchers over the cargo bay. Then it could hold 4 32s and 4 16s. I would personally like it as I hardly ever use the missiles anyway. @@WingZeroType

@@nathanforrester5140Yeah but They like to have things physicalized (which I like too) and also they want to keep ships with certain amounts of cargo for balance reasons, which I'm ok with. In the real world, certain things are just better than certain others. I like having balance tradeoffs in the game.

@WingZeroType The reason for removing the launchers and adding more cargo would bring more balance. A cargo version of a ship should be designed for efficient cargo. This means more cargo less boxes, so load and upload times are short. Right now, the Taurus is not cargo efficient. Two 32 scu, two 16 scu and twenty-four 2 scu boxes. Total box count is 28. This is horrible for a cargo variant. Take off the launches and add 48 more scu of space, and you get four 32 and 16 scu boxes. Total box count is 8. This makes the Taurus a true cargo variant. It also gives more reason for someone to get an Andromeda. ATM the Taurus is just too good and kinda makes Andromeda less relevant.

@@nathanforrester5140 Actually, I really agree with you on this. That's a great point. +1 to everything you said. It'd also be nice if they could do something to the elevator to make it easier to load... maybe get the elevators/landing gear to come down further to make loading easier.

FYI you can open the cargo door on a soft-deathed 890 by going to the control seat in either the bridge or CIC and opening all doors. It will take a while for the elevator to come down because its super slow but you dont lose the additional cargo from hard deathing the ship

Yep that's a good point that I should've mentioned, I just really hate trying to zero-g through the 890J lol. I keep bumping into walls all over the place. But yeah its worth it if there's a good haul in there.

@@WingZeroType what I hate about the 890J is that the cargo elevator doesn’t work in soft death, but the passenger lift does, so it’s easier, and way faster, to get into the bridge than to work your way down to the cargo deck and find the internal elevator controls are dysfunctional. It’s even easier in space, enter by the docking ports.

I'd like to add a recommendation to use Deadbolt ballistic cannons on the C2. You definitely have to stagger-fire them because of the high alpha, but the damage output is insane. You need to rearm after every ERT, but they are insanely fun to use

Yeah the deadbolts are an option too. I just recommended the AD5Bs because they can output a lot more total damage before needing a restock, meaning if you get lucky you can often do two ERTs before restocking. But yeah, deadbolts are definitely viable as well and I am all for people using what's most fun!

They could really exploit this gameplay with a couple of new missions types. Intercept and recover stolen cargo for lawful players, intercept and rob conveys for the pirates. Both would encourage (and necessitate at higher levels) co-op play with both combat and cargo vessels required to complete them.

C2 + Corsair is an amazing combo for duo pilots. Corsair kills, C2 loots. Extremely efficient. Make sure you trust the C2 pilot to split 50/50 afterwards.

one VHRT bounty target gave me around 100 scu in weevil eggs when I did a solo C2 run. That got me over 12 million aUEC in one sale. If you do it solo, try to avoid Brio and go for Devlin at Euterpe. Brio is much busier, so you will have 'no demand' more often and a higher risk of getting attacked by pirates

Yeah, I got jumped by a loot gang at Brios and lost an M2 with 10scu of eggs, lucky I parked my C2 with 178scu maze at CRU-L5. You can also equip your C2/M2 with S5 laser canons or S5 repeaters for their range - you can snipe a Hammerhead outside its range Switched to a C2, as I’ve encountered ERT with 2x C2 and 1x M2.

hahaha yeah when you find more loot than you can fit in a Taurus or Corsair you'll be sad to not have more cargo, but then if you run out of ammo in a ballistic C2 then you'll feel bad about not having a corsair lol. They all have their pros and cons

I come bearing bad news. As of 3.22.0a, this method has been really nerfed hard. You can no longer get enormous amounts of illegal cargo, and ships in bounties will carry much more varied (and much less valuable) cargo, with maybe a few SCU of illegal materials.

@@Para0234 I've been doing it over the past week or so, on and off. It's been pretty good, maybe made around 15mil or so. I only really bother boarding ships now if they have weavil eggs or very large amounts of quantanium, slam, widow or e'tam. The 890 jumps almost always have a good amount of weavil eggs for me, and they're easy to board out of atmosphere. Still, I know there are better ways to make money, but this gameplay loop is a ton of fun to me.

Seems a video on the best way to even GET VHRT / ERTs in the first place would be helpful. I'm not sure I completely understand the reputation system and the fastest most efficient way of gaining Bounty Hunter rep to get these missions. How many 4000auec missions do I need to do? Which missions do I avoid? ect ect.. .Great video for when I get there though! .

Do only the missions that state the bounty will be in a ship. I think I had like 5 vlrt to LRTs and 5 LRTs to MRTs so I think it’s like 5 of every level. Just check for the assessment bounty after you complete each one it’ll be available when you are ready for the next stage. Also do the bounty’s next to the planet you want the rep for. So if you want microtech be in MT system of planets and you will get mostly all MT bounty missions

I love my Taurus, problem with doing this In a c2 is great you get loads, but then you spend ages trying to offload it all, with a Taurus you can make millions, sell in one go and make faster trips

Yep same, I love the Taurus for this game loop but I couldn't deny the efficiency of the corsair with its extra s5 hardpoints giving you a ton more dps and ammo. But I really love having the connie cargo hold filled and being able to walk around on the catwalks above it. just feels soooo cool

@@WingZeroType you can also run over it all if it only goes to the top of the ladder, something nice about dancing on top of a load of maze 😅 I don't really mind it taking a bit longer, I look at it like it would normally take weeks of solid grinding to get that much so I'm not really too worried about efficiency, it can be quite chill :)

Really thanks for your video, but the bitter true is right now... it's really hard to sell some illegal items. Especially among eggs.There are a lot of players selling and with the servers overlapping each other, it's very difficult to find a niche to sell. A situation that is further complicated by the opportunistic PVP. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next patch or with an operational trading module, which will cause prices to plummet if the supply is high.

For scanning - does changing the angle of the scanner (from 360 degrees to less than that) help? I never bothered to check.

Great video! Just a quick question.. I'm having issues with keeping targets in soft death, I use trigger discipline towards the end, but more often than not they fully explode and drop the cargo. I'm running size 4 and 5 lazer cannons on my Connie, would it help by switching to ballistics? Also, are EMP weapons any good to help combat this? Say, if my friend was to come along with a Vanguard Sentinal for example.

Thank you! And are you having issues with not blowing the enemy up with your guns, or them blowing up when hitting the ground? One thing you can do is keep the size 4 and size 5 laser cannons on different weapon groups and once the enemy hull is red you can only use the s4's. Another thing you can do is enable staggered fire mode which will shoot each weapon one-after-the-other instead of all at the same time. Between these two things and some trigger discipline i think that should help. I use AD5Bs on my connie and i don't really have issues with overkilling targets since its a high fire rate and low alpha weapon, so that could work too. I wouldn't really bother with EMPs, if you wanted to use distortion i'd just use distortion weapons. That could work, I haven't personally tried it though.

Thanks for the reply! I most often fully blow them up before they hit the ground 😅 I think the splitting the size 4's and 5's might help, actually. My Arrow is like that by default, I didn't realise you could change it. I'd like to give stagger fire a go too, is it a specific hot key to switch fire mode?

I am pretty sure CIG turned off the turnover for certain drugs because the demand for Maze, Slam, Widow, and eggs is just gone. Its not even worth doing this as of 3 days ago.

I'm having a difficult time finding the ships after they die and fall or even in the asteroids. Seems like after I'm done killing them, I am lucky if I can find even one of them around me. I tried a suggestion of pinning the ships, 1,2 and 3 but once they die, even a soft death... seem the pin is gone. This video makes it look super easy, and maybe it's a skill issue, but I am finding it a little frustrating. Have missions, have cargo ships, kill cargo ships... lose ship's locations, most of the time.

sorry for the late response - what's the weapon loadout you use? if you use cannons of any type they have higher alpha which makes it a lot harder to not accidentally overkill them. The AD-series gatlings are pretty good for this, also you really need to slow down your dps once their hull goes red. And yeah, on places with gravity its a bit of a crapshoot.

@@WingZeroType I am using the Rhino laser repeaters. I tried ballistics but chewed through ammo pretty fast. I will give cannons a try! Would be nice if the PINS worked, but they seem to go away as soon as target goes down, or there's a PIN radius and you need to be pretty close to the PINNED ship. I dunno. Will keep trying! Thanks! :)

yeah that's due to a bug that just appeared a couple days ago that prevents the demand from updating at the sell terminals on server ticks - hopefully they fix it soon!

Why did you buy so many tractor beams? I get the job done with the multi tool. And how do you find all the wrecks after you kill them? I normally am only able to find the last one I killed.

I like having a lot of stuff ready for testing purposes when I'm trying silly things so that I can quickly get back out there. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as you, in the current patch I can't find ships unless I chase them down after killing them. I used to be able to ping the scan and then look for signatures but unless I'm really close to where the ships were blown up i really struggle to find them now, I think they might despawn outside of a certain distance.

Hey mate welcome back (interest wise, at least). Sorry for the super late response, life has been crazy for me so I fell behind on YT comments. But the game is still definitely going to have wipes before it goes fully released. We're in alpha right now, and we have random wipes even among alpha builds (not frequently, but they do happen - last one was about a year or so ago). When the game goes beta, there will definitely be a reset, and again when the game fully releases. So if you can't bear losing all your stuff, i'd say definitely give it more time. There's plenty of times you lose items and time in this game right now due to both intended and unintended things lol

Thank you, and welcome to the game! If you want a solid ship for bounty hunting, I'd try to save up for a hornet - they're really strong and can carry you all the way to the harder bounties. After that, I'd recommend an Ares Ion/Inferno, a Vanguard, or a Constellation depending on what types of gameplay you wanted to branch out to or focus on. The Hornet will require some saving though, since it costs around 1.4M. If you hop on the discord and mention that you're the new guy with the Syulen I'll hook you up with some cash to try it out the next time i get on :) The link's in the description

yeah it'll be exciting! The gameplay is a bit slower paced and a bit boring for me after a while but I do enjoy feeling like a space scrapper. I just wish the reclaimer was less janky, with taller openings for moving cargo around and cargo grids in the salvage hold and the cargo hold and not just in the salvage processing area

Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately there was a bug over the weekend that prevented demand from being refreshed at the drug terminals. Fortunately it's fixed now, so any newer servers that are coming online are working properly and plenty of people have been able to sell again!

Is it just me or is anyone else having extreme trouble actually re-finding the soft-deathed ships? Especially in zero-g like I hold V and nothing shows up. They're lost to space.

I feel like they despawn very quickly sometimes, I agree. I've definitely lost soft-deathed ships sometimes. I try to keep ships somewhat close to each other and keep tabs on my radar for that exact reason.

So If you're MRTs and lower you can go with laser repeaters (they all do the same dps) but if you're HRTs and higher I'd recommend laser cannons if you can land the shots. The C1 is a large ship with only one s2 shield though so defensively it does struggle a bit, and you'll probably need to disengage sometimes. It struggles a bit when it comes to VHRTs because of this, but its still doable.

I believe if you get downed from "environmental damage", you will eventually standup within 5 minutes or so. Getting shot, exploded, bleeding out I know you stay down until someone rescues or finishes you.

I was "knocked out" and not "killed" so you can often recover after a few seconds. I don't know what exactly triggers the knock out vs death, but I've noticed this a few times from non-combat damage.

Too bad you haven't covered the current issue that none of the sketchy locations to sell these drugs will take them. I have been trying for 3 days now and have had to dump 2 full loads from a taurus and a full load from a c1 since i could not sell the cargo anywhere. Specifically a full load of weevil eggs that none of the 4 scrap yards would take... so basically 10 mil in drugs just dumped.

it was nerfed, but not totally useless. It's no longer crazy free money like it used to be, and now it feels much closer to a balanced experience. So I'd say if you enjoy the gameplay, its totally lucrative and worth doing, but no longer worth it if you'd rather just skip the cargo shenanigans and just wanna blow more stuff up.

It seems to be a bug with the servers not refreshing demand. hopefully it'll be sorted soon, but yeah right now most places aren't getting their demand refreshed.

I have been raided by the space police twice at Brio on Daymar, with all my eggs and maze confiscated and everywhere is constantly at "no demand" lately

They seem to have turned up the space police a lot yesterday, i'm not sure if its intentional or a bug. The server demand not updating for drugs is aknown bug though, and hopefully it's fixed soon! Remember that if you're getting scanned by security you can quantum away without getting a CS. Even if you just fly away and don't stop, you only get a CS1 which you can pay off for 20k and you don't even lose your drugs.

Why would bounty targets have any cargo at all? Imho, cargo in NPC ships should be limited to salvage missions.

wait why wouldn't bounty targets have cargo? It's totally feasible to think of a bounty target just doing their random day-to-day stuff when you come upon them and blow their stuff up. If you're looking at it from a realistic perspective, it's not like the bounty targets are just sitting around in one spot in combat ready mode waiting for you (even if that's how the game is coded right now)

THIS DOESNT WORK: Drug sales are locked right now. Can't believe you would post this video while RSI has literally disabled this game mechanic. Don't waste your time on this people, at least log in and ask the server if drugs are still locked. Until then downvote this video for false advertsiement. You'll have a ship full of illegal cargo that you can't get rid of.
