Star Wars: Brotherhood by Mike Chen was great! I think it's one of my favorite stories about Obi-Wan and Anakin. Seeing them becoming friends and growing beyond the master and apprentice relationship was a blast. Here is my full review!

Love how well this expands on Attack Of The Clones and it's aftermath, showing the early days of The Clone Wars. Amazing work, already a few chapters into the audio recording.

Already a few chapters in. Amazing. I definitely agree that this feels like the third in the unofficial Trilogy of Dooku: Jedi Lost, Master and Apprentice and now Brotherhood

@@underseaturnip2665 They are super solid. I don't know where I would place Dooku Jedi Lost. Since even though technically it's set after Phantom Menace, the majority of the book is really before.

@Chosen One I don't know. I believe the book will serve as Anakin and Obi wans first interaction with Ventress but I don't know much else. So far it's interesting to see Kenobi be discreetly aware of Anakin and Padmes relationship. The situation on Cato Nemoidia is fishy. The way the book is written has a real Clone Wars(series) vibe like it could have easily been an arc on the show. I really like that.

The Disney Canon Books are starting to surpass Legends books in my opinion.

@@bradley8575 I think it's just different. I like that the Canon story group is seemingly more picky about what projects they release. But a part of me also wishes we got more projects

Very grateful for all this extra material that expounds on the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan. If taking just the movies into consideration, you wonder whether or not Ben in ANH was just humoring Luke. But then add TCW, Brotherhood and all these adjacent works, and the picture really becomes clearer. Only downside is that it still is in books and shows, when for many, the movies are the only ones that count and the existence of these expanded material doesnt retroactively make the movies better.

Mill was such a great character, and an amazing companion to Anakin in how she helped give him perspective in his new role.

I'm very happy to see that stories from the Prequel Era are getting so much love. It makes me very happy to know I don't have to feel like the outlier anymore! It reminds me of those good old days of me playing the games and watching the Clone Wars! I will make sure to pick up this book when I have the chance!

The only thing I found disappointing about this book was I wish that we could have gotten to see Anakin's jedi knight ceremony. Other than that I really loved this book.

I'm still early in, but I think it's in order to not completely remove the possibility of some legends material to potentially be recanonized. Specifically his duel with Ventress and Knighting Ceremony.

I just finished this book and I really enjoyed it. I loved the character Mill Alibeth. I found her to be a super interesting character and brought a lot of emotion to the story

I love the younglings telling tall tales of Professor Huyang being a timelord. Amazing easter egg for such a memorable character. David Tennant won an Emmy for that role!

I finished it over the weekend and loved it. The characterizations were spot on, I fell in love with Mill and Ruug, and I very much liked how their preconceived notions about Neimoidians were challenged. Also it was great to see Sister again!

I just finished reading this and was amazed at the quality of story told here. Really engaging with new perspectives from obiwan and Anakin of each other. Mills was a cool character and I hope we get to see more of her in the future. Very impressed. I hope mike Chen writes more starwars after this.

I’m definitely going to reread this again and mainly due to the fact that most of it went over my head. I felt there wasn’t a lot of “brotherhood” in the story. You get a little at the beginning then a little at the end when anakin heads to Cato N. With the youngling but not enough. the majority of the book is obi and ruug which is fine but the interactions between anakin and obi were nice but too little. Like I said maybe I wasn’t all too present in my first read through if I’m wrong please provide context.

I thought this was a good predecessor for Matt Stover's "Revenge of the Sith"; Chen explains he got clear inspiration from it, and you can feel it.

Do we see Anakin Knighted by the Jedi in this book, or is he already a Jedi Knight and no longer a padawan at the start of it? That isn't something I think we've seen in the official star wars canon, besides that episode of the original 2D Clone Wars show.

@@joncarroll2040 That's hard to say since the cover image is just from a photoshoot for attack of the clones. Plus it looks like Anakin doesn't even have his robot hand on the cover, so I'm not sure.

@Robert Wild Anakin is already a Knight at the start of the book. Personally, I would’ve loved to have seen the ceremony of him becoming a Knight…ah well. But I’m still enjoying the book so far, I’m five chapters in now.

I've never watched The Clone Wars show (only the movie back when it came out). Would I still benefit from listening to this going into Obi-Wan Kenobi? Or would I be too confused because it references Clone Wars stuff?

Nemoideans are born as grubs and only the larvae that horde food and kill their siblings survive so I thought it was biologically impossible for a Nemoidean to be a good person.
