Star Wars peaked in 2015

This is sort of a documentary about the build up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015 and my personal experiences with it.
Huge shoutout to @DuckOfTheStarz and @Revosportza for helping with critiquing this video. Your suggestions made this video what it is today.

i was 8 in 2015 haha but i still remeber going to the movie wuth my dad because we always went to every single one. he was the one who got me onto starwars

Oh cool! so you had a similar experience as me then. You lived through it all. Thats so great of your dad, mine was the same way with the Terminator movies.

I do not like the sequel trilogy, but I cannot deny the really positive feelings I have towards Episode 7. When I was in middle school, my science teacher rented out an entire theatre for the whole school to watch the premiere. It was fucking incredible, hanging out with all of your school buddies and watching the film! I personally really liked it at the time, but unfortunately it's the best of the three sequels - I was hoping it'd be the worst. Great video! I don't know why, it's completely obvious that it's true, but holy hell is it wierd to think that there were people who were 9 when this came out. xD

Your teacher rented out the whole theater? God damn that must have been expensive lmfao. I’m sure that’s such a special memory. I agree force awakens is my favorite of the sequels too. It wasn’t flawless by any means but I still hold it in high regard. Thanks for watching the video!

@@EvansMedia99 Yeah! I mixed up my wording a bit, I think. It was one entire IMAX room at the local theatre complex. All the people that wanted to go brought in some money to assist with costs, too, and my science teacher organized everything, got all the seats selected, etc. It was an incredible time!

@@necroseus Oh I gotcha. I was gonna say your teacher must have been loaded lmfao, that makes far more sense lol. Not only did you get to watch it with your whole class, but also in IMAX?! Dude that's crazy.

Also 2019 was also quite great. TROS was obviously criticized but the hype for it was still something, also BF2 was flooded with Clone Wars updates, and we got a trailer for TCW Season 7

@@trentoninnewjersey Thats true too. I rember watching the ROS trailer the second it came out on YT with some friends at our lunch table. Would have been 7th grade I belive. Plus there was Mandalorian which was fantastic. They hype that Clone Wars brought was crazy too, so many people were talking about it.

I think that 2015 was the best time to be a Star Wars fan. But it was not the best time for Star Wars movies, The first movie of the sequels was just a pale copy of the fourth one while the original stars movie, but still all the other things that came out afterwards, some of them were great. Some of them weren't so great, but overall, there was a lot of content. And if you were a star return, you were pleased. So, yeah, I tend to agree that 2015 was the best year to be a Star Wars fan. But does not mean that it peaked, the era of shows like the mandalorian is giving star wars a new breath! Interesting video!

Thank you so much! Honestly I wasn’t expecting so many different responses to this video and it’s so cool hearing others point of view. And your right 2015 was a turning point. 10 years with no new movies. Wether you like the Disney stuff or not it was a fun time to be a fan.

Really hope you didn’t see my comment because yeah I get what you mean now. I just read the title and was like 😡 HOW DARE THEY SAY IT OEAKED IN 2015 but yeah thinking about 2015 was a great time for Star Wars. While I’m not a fan of the sequels I think the force awakens still holds up the best. It’s a fun movie and it left things open enough that it was exciting to see what happens next. I know it’s a copy of a new hope in a lot of ways but that’s kinda the point. It was supposed to be a soft reboot after the really vile and horrible reaction the prequels got disney wanted to play it safe. A movie that would feel more like the originals.

Don’t worry I didn’t see it 😭 it’s all good though I love hearing what people have to say wether positive or negative. I get all the force awakens criticism. It was somewhat formulaic and I’m undoubtedly bias in favor of it because it was my first SW movie in theaters. Thanks for checking this out!

Hot take but i don’t think things are all bad now. Or as bad as so many of the dime a dozen Star Wars hate channels say. Is it perfect? No. But has Star Wars ever truly been perfect. Apart from the empire strikes back it’s always been a wonderful flawed mess. It’s bad and good. Anyone saying the lucas era was perfect has nostalgia goggles on. Everyone’s entitled to their opinions but I’ve loved a lot of what Disney has made. Objectively they’ve made some good-great stuff like Solo, rogue one, rebels, andor, the bad batch, the mandolorian. Star Wars isn’t horrific now and I’m very excited to see ashoka

maybe they not all bad but the way disney only care about money and not even trying to make a good story the lucas era was not perfect but they did care about they fan they give us grievous and mace windu with yoda just badass in the cartoon of 2003 and the clone wars help to make the order 66 make more sense good epic theme duel of fate the sequel what did they did with the franchise just 3 movie for a long time no cartoon for the kid and the one made it's just i don't even remember what about it almost or even the name and the toy no kid want toy of the sequel you see many toy stay in the store forever when the one with boba fett and the other go quickly and make luke a old man that try to kill a kid and stay on a dumb planet nobody care

Good retelling of the buildup. But where is the point where you explained where it peaked... Or did you just mean Hype-Peak? The force awakens was ok. A soft reboot to start the new saga. ok. Rey could have become a good character. Her power whould surely be explained by the next entry right? But it wasn't...

Thanks! I really just meant the peak (for me at least) of being a fan in general. Idk about you but I never got to experience the build up to the originals or prequels so this was my first time getting that experience and I have a lot of nostalgia for that time. That’s also why I like the force awakens more than most. I understand the criticism for sure, but I still enjoy it.

@@EvansMedia99 For me it was the first time too. I'm a bit older I guess. I knew some stuff about legends beforhand and here in germany we had an amazing audiobook version of the thrawn triology (with the original voice actors). So I was disapointed to see that go, but I was still hyped. But for me it fell down dramaticly after the second watch. Left a sub. Good Luck!
