Fun fact: The engines used in the cross section are modeled on the Pratt & Whitney J58 engine, as used on the SR-71 Blackbird and its preceding A-12/YF12 versions. The bypass tubes are distinctive.

I think it's more like Long Truck vs. Short Truck. Long Truck does those routes across the country, for days and weeks at a time. Short Truck moves freight within a city, on a daily shift.

Tug Pilots = Short hall Truckers (the trucks you see with out crew cabs) YT Pilots = Long Hall Truckers (These guys are out for 7 -14 days at a time)

Tug pilots are more akin to 'switchers' or 'dock jockies'. They move single or double trailers from load, unload and staging areas. The switcher they drive actually looks kinda like the b13 with the massive glass canopy.

My favorite new ship; fast, maneuverable, and cool looking. The only vice is smuggling would be pretty difficult since all cargo is outside the ship.

I'm pretty certain humans can at least crossbreed with near-human species like Chiss and Zeltron, I recall something about one of the Empire's Grand Admirals having some rumors surrounding his ancestry not being purely human

Not mentioned in this video was the Disney Infinity 3.0 adaptation of this ship. Rarely is this game mentioned or shown on any Star Wars KZfaq channel. You may want to look into it for settings, ships and clips. I did speed trap tests ingame of every vehicle using a standard length and logic creator timers to judge speed. This quadjumper is by a great deal faster than any other ship (star wars or otherwise).

I still find it incredibly hard to believe, with ships dozens and even hundreds of times the size of any of these, how it’s practical/efficient to move a cargo presumably similar in size to that of a semi truck in independent ships. Given the sheer scale of the galaxy, it’d be like using a matchbox car to supply a football stadium. Or maybe your personal car to supply the entire US... What could they possibly have transported, besides some incredibly specific left handed lightbulbs or some crazy ice cream from the other side of the galaxy, to make it worth while to use them?

Dude I said I know, I saw it and used wookie for a lot of other parts in this vid, there is no source for that info, no little number raised next to the Class 4.0. The encyclopedia and cross section never mentions it, and it doesn't fit with the other confirmed lore so I left that out.

Those "official speeds" from that Encyclopedia are so far out of whack it's not even funny. The space tugboat is faster than an Xwing, Fang Fighter, Ywing, and Millennium Falcon. Riiiiiight.

In atmosphere, at least. Speeds for sublight are rated in G, or an old RPG system where a Y-wing is rated 7, an X-Wing and TIE as 8, and the Falcon used to be 6.

@@chrissonofpear1384 even in atmosphere it still doesn't make sense. The Quadjumper is about as aerodynamic as a brick. Meanwhile the Fang Fighter has such a low profile it would hardly have any kind of drag. Yet the Encyclopedia has it barely traveling faster than a P51 Mustang

Because, as mentioned before, YT-1300 is an extremely common ship, which is what makes it so good for smuggling. You see a rusty old ship from a line of cheap freighters sitting in a junk yard, you’re not going to think it’s the legendary souped up ship that made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.

@@battlesheep2552 Just remember, The Falcon was NEVER operating at it's full potential due to how Han was constantly on the move with smuggling and keeping away from bounty hunters and other scoundrels after him. It's not a bad ship, but it just never got it's perfect, 100% working order occasions.

Again, the YT was NOT a tugboat. Literally the only piece of evidence for the whole "cargo container train" thing people seem to fixate on is a piece of concept art that NEVER made its way into any actual works, and the reasoning given for "how it can't not be a tugboat" is completely invalidated by the existence of other YT-series ships _without_ the mandibles, as well as center-cockpit and armored cockpit versions of the YT-1300 where the mandibles are obstructed. The YT was always supposed to be a long-distance courier ship carrying low-volume, high-value goods on low-traffic routes, and many were often used as personal transports and even converted into "sleeper" luxury yachts. The "overpowered" engines were specifically because one of the major complaints with earlier YT series ships was a lack of sublight performance. Another thing that needs to be addressed, and I CANNOT stress this enough, is that _the Millennium Falcon's interior layout was not stock._ In both Legends and Canon, the ship had been converted from a light cargo hauler to a luxury yacht at some point, and thus had its cargo space _reduced_ from the stock YT-1300F or even the FP variant (which is the closest layout to the Millennium Falcon). There's no sense in diverting a heavy, slow container freighter just to service a small colony at the very edge of the outer rim, and there's _always_ going to be demands for expedited small shipments to these out-of-the-way areas. The claim that "there's no demand for a small freighter" is bullshit, especially in a setting where you can cross the entire relevant part of the galaxy in a couple weeks.
