Apparently each subsequent time you go through unity and head to the new lodge, the more random the universes can be: like the room is only occupied by Vasco who says all the Constellation members are dead. Or the room with Sam Coes daughter and a bunch of pirates. Or the room with only the Hunter. Or the room with 6 versions of your player character all from different factions

Never seen a game implement a story like this, an infinitely looping story mode, that is very innovative from bethesda i must say. I also like the awesome alien ship and armor you get when you enter new game plus

I don’t understand why in game your character would want to keep cycling over and over. Like it sounds like many starbound are fighting for the chance to keep cycling but why? What is gained from cycling over and over?

Apparently the weapons and armor you come out the other end with get more powerful the more times you cycle through unity.

Every cycle you can meditate/activate temples, which then make you more powerful. Power is why they wish to keep cycling. I’m at NG+10. Not for the faint of heart but now I get to enjoy my game on very hard & explore everything. I’m going for 100% achievements

It's like a constant loop but with a conclusion that feels like there's a change but that's probably dlc. I want a dlc that brings us back to universe 1 for us as story.

My only gripe is that the reason for going into Unity isn’t quite good enough and I wish I kept my inventory and it would show my side quests as completed and let me reset them if I wanted

Well, the whole point of the NG+ traditionally is to relive all those adventures. In Starfield however, NG+ is unique in the sense that even this mechanic can be roleplayed in universe. If you want the starborn armor and ships and to keep your stuff then id use console commands or wait for a mod. Possibly even a future DLC from Bethesda might allow these things without reseting the entire universe

If it's any consolation, the ending hints at "Creators". Not exactly alien, but a foreign cosmic power is pretty enticing.

I have to admit this loop structure is quite unique. But the question is, if you can't keep all your inventories, weapons, outposts and credits in the next universe, there's no meaning to build outpost, loot and develop any weapons/spacesuit/ship in the new universe (cos you would lose all of them when enter The Unity again), and the game would lose I'd say more than 70% of its fun......

I swear this makes Fallout 4 seem good. What the use of all these random planets, redoing the story over and over if it basically means jack beside "My delete button deletes faster"? Like i dont care about "leaving" the worlds behind but it like a one of those parts in games where you get yelled at for doing a crime... but the only way forward IS to do the crime.

A lot of people will disagree with me but everything was amazing I beat the main story in 15 hours and I liked the ending it makes you carry on the unity and the infinite eventually you become what you don’t want to be the hunter

But they completely close them self off to more possibilities, because if this is your one purpose in the multi-verse, you kind of have nowhere else to go

Oddly enough Bethesda may have thought about writing themselves into a corner so they gave themselves an out by having different scenarios play out through your new game plus, so far though it seems as though the main difference is who you meet at the lodge whether it’s constellation or some other familiar faces.

agreed, this was not the story/ending I was hoping for at all so was really disappointed. Personally, I think the whole multiverse trope is becoming way overdone. I would much rather have had a first contact type story.

Hopefully in the dlc we meet the creators/aliens in the end where u go unity u can ask who made the temples and artifacts and yourself in the unity says someday u can meet them but not now.🤔👽

Good dlc for this would be returning to your first universe. My thought from the scenes where you keep skipping between dimensions is messing with space and time rips the multiverse open scattering into every reality

Vasco says in NG plus that your "the miner lost while getting the artifact" so either 1 of 2 things happened you ran off and we just never run into them, personally though I think it means that you died on the fight with pirates at the start of the game. Thus you basically step in and take your own place in the new universe

It can happen, that you meet yourself. There are 10 variations of what can happen in the new universe incl the one that is similiar to the one you started in.

Im hoping that the alien creators show up. And the starborn band together snd become kind of like the guardians in destiny. Having a interdimensional war with the creators and the great serpent ends up being likenthere mother ship

When you think about it, eventually all of humanity across ALL version will eventually become starborn, humanity will become gods and eventually destroy them selves through war, its a vicious cylce that will repeat it self through out time and space.

@@bricaro8808 no the clone of yourself in unity says if you go through they will stay back and spread knowledge of the artifacts and if you dont go through they dont go through either and its they act the same as they did before

The thing that annoys me, is I wanted to complete the game but then continue working on my original character and do the side missions but now I've reached unity everything is wiped. Can I go back to the original universe and continue as I finished?

It just a glorified NMS. NMS story is the same shit, infinite loop. SF is glorified because it has more contents and details at launch, yet at the same time, illusion of scale.

@@Li.Ming.Chinese.Girl. Long before the game came out some people speculation that Bethesda was going have a share universe with their games. The multiverse story gives them the chance without breaking any lore in the process. The share universe will bring in a lot of new fans and turn off the old ones. Regardless, I don't know how much more I can put up with Bethesda nonsense. Having a share universe seems lazy to me on their party.

In my playthrough Barret, died. Which is weird till I pieced two and two together. You choose the lodge and Sam dies, or you choose the eye and barret dies.

No it depends on who you have the most relation with, so if you are very close to Sarah then she dies

@@s3bastian289 Sarah was the companion since the start of the game, didn’t switch her and pretty sure I maxed the relationship. She didn’t end up dying.

@@Steven-fg8on i had sarah as my girlfriend and almost wife and she died if i didnt go to the eye so more than likely you made decisions that made sarah dislike you so your relationship was stronger with barrett

@@Steven-fg8on If I'm not mistaken it's actually like this: your top 2 companions are in danger. The closest will be in the Eye, and the second closest will die in the Lodge if you choose to go to the Eye. The first one dies in the Eye if you stay in the Lodge and fight the Hunter.

The main story is so dull in comparison to the side quests imo. Cycling the universes is completely pointless other than the initial novelty of what variation you get. They should've reach this point far sooner and had you chase the origin of the artefacts as a starborn rather than treating it as a new game+

Maybe the Shattered Space Expansion will give us a final, final ending option. Also over the next few years modder’s will make new stories, quests maybe new endings.

I think the overall idea of the story sounds cool, but after about 10 hours of just fast traveling everywhere with no real exploration, or feeling of true free, roam ability, it just got really boring. And I say that as someone who has put thousands of hours into Bethesda games and really wanted to like the game. no man’s sky is cartoony and a different vibe, but they did a better job at this same game, essentially and even that got boring after a while

Can't remember the exact dialogue, but basically the hunter thinks if you go through enough times, you'll end up meeting the creators of unity. The creators of the multiverse. And when you talk to yourself at unity they imply that one day you will meet the creators. So I got a feeling that'll be some big down the road dlc for the game. There's 2 big dlcs I think they're going to go with. One you'll figure out home world of house of varum and second will be the creators. They hinted at both things quite a bit in the game when your story progresses far enough.

I think the "Unity" gives us players an excuse to do all of the various faction missions and all of the various dialogue options without having to start a fresh new character every time. Bethesda just integrated this concept into the story, and frankly, I think they did a good job. I think I played Skyrim dozens of times with new characters just to do this.

Very underwhelming ending. Good game not great def will not be playing it again with all the hours I've put in. Makes 0 sense to put in another 60 70 hours when you can't Carty over anything.

I really wanted to like this game but I can't. I've played about 5 or 6 hours and that was enough. I didn't expect how uninspired the story will be, how dull the graphics will look, how poorly optimized it'll be (should've seen that coming). Of course it's not an awful game but I expected much more from Bethesda. My mistake.

I gave it 10 hours and I'm done..ps2 graphics, non stop loading screens, framerate on Xbox is terrible, pause menu every 5 seconds to travel or do something. I don't get the cult like obsession with this game.
