I've been boycotting The Game Awards since... Oh, wait. I never cared about them in the first place.

The game awards have always been a joke.

Even if starfield doesn't get a game of the year award I'm still going to enjoy it.

The Game Awards are just an excuse for Geoff to get in front of a crowd to show off his newest clown shoes.

So let me ask you this Alex, is there a xbox tax?,because i remembered clearly fortza horizon 5 didn't get a chance to be nominated because they said it was made a little too late,but i remembered the following year God of war was coming out at the same exact time,and jeff lengthened the time frame ,said he's now making adjustments to the show,all that to accomodate God of war,soo please explain to me Alex,why wasn't it lengthened fhe year before for xbox?

Don't understand why some people take the game awards seriously, half the votes aren't even from players so I've never cared or taken it seriously.

Honestly, I was most surprised by the absence of Hogwarts Legacy. We all know why… which proves how fixed this stuff is. Let’s be real though, success is determined by sales, and in that regard, this was a good year. I think your first video on the poor categorization of the games was spot on. Some just made zero sense. Did the “journalists” even play the games? They didn’t get the genres correct 😂

I've been boycotting them since 2021 when Geoff said that the highest rated game of 2021 wasn't nominated for GOTY because it was "just a racer".

A 20 year old game albeit remastered, gets a GOTY nomination. What does that say about the industry?

Never understood how Forza Horizon 5, the highest rated game in its year wasn't even nominated for the GOTY. Since that year, i knew something was wrong.

I loved Starfield, the only reason I stopped playing is because I haven't gotten a Series yet and I don't want to play on the cloud. Being nominated for best RPG was more than I expected in a year full of great releases. Now, Hogwarts Legacy? This one should have a chance to compete for GOTY

I enjoyed the hell out of starfield and it's probably my GOTY...but if other people don't feel the same, who cares? Great, others go play something else and I'll play what I play.

The Game Awards is rigged. Games that sold for shit were on last years. Broken garbage should never be a nominated.

well i do like starfield ive been playing it a lot but its a not goty, for me alan wake 2 is,i think microsoft will still show some of their games in their game awards,hell blade 2 gameplay maybe,perfect dark,ever wild

Alot of the Xbox guys I know are just kind of getting tired of games getting snubbed at the VGAs and the blatant disrespect. Since 2010 only 1 Xbox game has been nominated for the overall GotY award, with all these games getting snubbed: All Forza Horizon games All Froza games from 4 onward All Gears of War games from 3 onward Both Ori Games Cup Head Titan Fall 1 Halo 4 Ryse Son of Rome Sunset Overdrive Its hard to say that if any one of those games were released on Playstation that it would not have been nominated for the award.

I've been having a blast with halo infinite. Super Fiesta with modded weapons on bikini bottom is the most fun I had gaming in years.

Ever since Last of Us Part 2 won GOTY I literally dont care who gets nominated or who wins. I’m just watching for the occasional game trailer or shadow drop. This year I’ll be watching to see if BG3 gets shadow dropped onto xbox during the show

Honestly, I'm not too upset that Starfield wasn't nominated. I'm upset Hi-Fi Rush wasn't nominated.

I'm a big Xbox guy, and Starfield is one of my all time favorite games, but it not being nominated doesn't bother me. I'm rooting for Alan Wake 2. That's my dark horse.

It's obvious Playstation has game journos and The Game Awards by the balls. Spiderman 2 Abby Jane will sweep like TLOU 2 did last time, and when TLOU 2 "Remaster" releases it will sweep the awards, even Best Racing Game.

I only bought and still playing Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield this year, those are my games of the year.

Honestly Alex i have never cared about what any journalist thinks. Not just in gaming, in any aspect of the world. My GOTY came out on all platforms (Lies of P)so nothing any vote will do to change that.

The 2 games that got snubbed were Hogwarts Legacy and Octopath Traveler 2.

I loved RE4 back in the Gamecube. I probably played 20 times over. However, if they were going to throw a remake in there I would've gone with Dead Space.

I have a couple of Game of the Year games every year, to me they are. It's doesn't matter if your game that you like is not nominate for an award, all that matter you love the game you are playing

I think it's stupid there wasn't at least a nomination for game of the year for Starfield, but I don't need a reward to enjoy the game.

I actually really did enjoy starfield. I got about 80% of the achievements and played it for about 140+ hours. I thought it was a really great experience. I don't really care if people who were not the target audience for the game don't like it, or if people took the word of dishonest or subjective criticism to heart and decided to not even try the game themselves despite only costing $10 to try it. They can have at it. Enjoy your movie games that the washington post or NPR tend to like. I hope you feel validated. I will continue to enjoy Mario, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Obsidian titles, JRPGs, Bethesda Studio titles, etc. on my own terms. I don't need validation from incompetent critics to tell me which games I should love.

Intro was hilarious 😀😀😀 there were so many great games this year its a tough competition. Starfield is a great game I enjoyed it a lot, if it wasn't this much games this year, trust me it would have been nominated and even won goty probably

RE4 should not be on the list. The game was great when it was originally released. Remakes and remasters should be in a separate category. Most of the nominations are sequel - feel like dlc, in my opinion. New IPs like Starfield, Hogwarts, and Lies of P were snubbed for games that lack innovation and have already been done....

I find it suspicious that even though Spider-Man two had serious issues that launch it was put up for a gamer board. It’s OK I’ll clearly see pandering towards PlayStation in this game award. I do used to actually do game awards but I guess they’re just corporate purchased now. Because even cyberpunk was featured. I actually really enjoyed Starfield. Shipbuilding was the real selling point for Starfield and I enjoyed that.

I know the odds of it happening are zero, but I think it'd be hilarious if Starfield won RPG of the year and Baldur's Gate 3 won game of the year. CHAOS!

The Xbot Fanboys exist in their own world, Starfield was a disappointment to alot of people besides Xbox or Bethesda fans. Too many bugs, loading screens, lack of exploration, robotic looking charecters, ect. Hellblade 2 will probably get a nom next year tho

I don't even watch the game awards, I just watch all the reveal trailers afterwards. I also only find out what game won what from console fanboy videos because I couldn't care less about what wins what. I just like seeing the salt flow.😂 I cannot wait for your videos after the game awards because you know it's going to be an absolute salt fest!

Honestly, Baldur's Gate 3 is the only surprising and exceptional game this year for me personally. Yes there have been a lot of great games for all platforms, but everything is pretty much more of the same, which is great, I just wouldn't say anything is especially award worthy, except for BG3. Now I haven't played every game, so there might be some, for example Alan Wake, haven't played that yet. I also watch Game Awards for the trailers mostly, and don't really care for awards, they wont make me buy or not buy a game.

Yes, a lot of the award nominees are very questionable. Not just GOTY but many other categories. With that said, these awards have nothing to do with the gamers. It's just bragging rights and console war ammo. Starfield is my personal GOTY but it not being nominated GOTY doesn't affect me in any way. I'm still playing it and many other games. I just want to see the game trailer reveals. We all know BG3 will win GOTY.

There was actually proof on the Internet of the payoffs and everything so no that is true but it’s whatever it’s nothing to do with that. Honestly, just games not being nominated at all like Hogwarts Legacy, and other games which Hogwarts Legacy was awesome. It should’ve won some awards maybe not game of the year but should’ve got something all this stuff is one-sided and really messed up.

At 4:09 I just want to point out that the Microsoft theater is called that because MS just pays for the naming rights, and it is now known as the Peacock theater. It is like same thing with stadiums and arenas.

While Starfield is my favourite Game this year, I’d be lying if I think it deserves GOTY, It’s a Good Game 8/10 but it does have problems and was overhyped.

Of Starfield was a ps5 exclusive it would have get a recommendation EASILY. Fucking deathloop (Which i did like a lot) got one and it didn't deserve it. Anyways i never watch this award show as it is mostly a popularity contest by people smelling their own farts.

To be fair, since 2014, Xbox has never once had anything it's released nominated for a GOTY. It's mainly been Sony, Nintendo, or third party titles, and Xbox fans are sick and tired of it. And now this year, we have two games up for GOTY noms. One's broke has hell, the other is a remake of an older title. If the GOTY awards weren't a joke before, they sure as hell are now.

As an Xbox and PC gamer, I'm ashamed to be associated with these fanboy idiots and I don't need awards to validate the games I play. I have to admit though that some of the nominations in TGA categories are a little odd TBH.

The Microsoft theater isn't owned by Microsoft and it's actually now called The Peacock Theater. It's owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group.
