I come back to this trailer daily, usually after rereading more chapters in the book. I'm so pumped for this! Even if it changes things from the book, I'm confident it will still be a beautiful, cathartic viewing experience. Edit: It was. I’m so happy they did it right.

After COVID, writers are gonna have to try extra hard to justify why a pandemic turns the world into a Mad Max-style apocalypse.

This series is dramatising what a virus with high mortality and high transmissibility would look like to the world. Covid-19 ended up being one of those two, imagine a virus that transmitted through the air, but then killed half of everyone contacting it. There would be no opportunity to develop a vaccine, the world would grind to a halt within a month or two. I think Covid-19 just hit 5 million dead globally, with a virus like the one I just described, the number of dead would be 180 million globally and 27 million in US alone but keep in mind that when that many people die, things fall apart very quickly in society.

@@jpslayermayor9293 its not hard to imagine, the black death was airborne and killed with a 99%+ mortality rate. Killed 1/4 of the world's population at the time, and much of society was completely destroyed. The Soviets weaponized that same basic strain of Mongolian Marmot vectored Yersinia Pestis, turned it into a Frankensteinian variant way worse than the Black Death ever was. There's no knowledge as to what happened to that specific bioweapon after the fall of the Soviet Union. That thing would be a world ender for sure.

This has to be the most boring show I have ever watched. Literally nothing happens. Artsy-fartsy crap, which means the critics will fall all over themselves praising it.
