In this series of "How To" mini-guides I show how to undertake some of the core tasks in PC survival game Stationeers.
These videos were made in August 2022 and show the mechanics and processes that are in the game at this time.
Each video is intended to be short and cover one specific topic. You may need to watch more than one to complete a construction project.
In this part:
Secure Your Starting Supplies
The lander is fine for initially keeping your crates safe, but if you're on a planet with storms it will take damage from them, and once destroyed you will lose anything attached to it. Furthermore it is a bulk pain and a problem to build close to. So for these 2 reasons you'll want to stow your crates and dismantle it.

During the whole video I was internally screaming "drink something!" :)

That's fair! I try to turn off thirst and hunger on the "How To" videos because it avoids distractions but I forgot

@@murk9111 Been absolutely loving these short tutorials, so helpful! Never would have known you could just hold ice to pressurize your base for example.

Just subscribed, probably the best getting started tutorials I found. I used your guide to set up on mars. About the only variable Ive noticed is the wall AC is not effective here, for some reason the gas temp inside the pipe is sitting around 200C, haven't quite figured out why yet. Will have to add the radiators when I get some steel to see if it helps. Again, great series, really helped me with not amassing corpses.

I'd suggest radiaroea to speed up the heat transfer. That's said there are a few issue's following thr thermodynamics changes, some of which need patching so maybe give it a day or for that first. I'm glad you're finding it useful though

It will take a lot of iron to make all these mounts. I'd probably just put the crates in the hab to start with.

You can just dismantle the lander with the grinder and they will al just drop to the ground. Makes it less tedious also the tank is better off inside since you tend to loose gas disconnecting/reconnecting I beilieve

Indeed you can but I kinda wanted to demonstrate how to connect and disconnect things because I've seen a few people asking about that. But you're right, just angle grinding the lander to oblivion also works!

@@murk9111 Agree totally, there is a note though, dumping them with the wrench/spanner has become some what hazardous in the recent patches (suit becoming somewhat fragile). Great content btw, also one thing i found annoying recently was I took 2 of my crates and the tank inside my green house they still took damage and moved around since they were not mounted to the floor just a heads up for those thinking they are safe inside.

Would like to see a video on using a pressure regulator to recharge your suit canister. (It’s better than just throwing it in the larger can since you can also set a pressure for how much gas to put into it). Also a good filtration system for cleaning and capturing the carbon dioxide from your suit for your hungry plants. Back when I played before I just use a pure carbon dioxide environment for the plant hab and then scrub off any oxygen and capture it back into the big white tank. This would be good for new players so they can use the plants to generate their o2 which is part of what’s missing in these guides. I will say though you have a great series here and hopefully you still will make more advanced videos for us seasoned guys who are interested in the changes that have taken place over the last 6 to 9 months.

Yes I've got gas filtration and mixing on my list, including capture of oxygen from the greenhouse. The atmospherics and other recent changes make it a bit more challenging to do that since you need a breathable (and non-flammable!) atmosphere to eat/drink and CO2 toxicity is also coming soon. The days of just 100% CO2 atmosphere for the greenhouse and recapturing all the O2 are sadly gone - but that makes the atmospherics even more important. I've got a short(ish) list of other "basics" I want to cover in this short, modular way so that new players survive long enough to get into the game. After that I'm planning to do modular videos on the more complex stuff and I'll prioritise the newer systems as much as possible.

@@murk9111 your original long “quick” video was good just needed chapters so you can bite the various pieces of the entire video easier. It’s basically what you did in all these videos except these are all separate videos.
