Today it is time tackle the really important stuff. I eat at the table. I turn the power controller up the right way, And then I build a graph.

Loving the pipes groaning in your phase change cooling… I do think you need to try a moon play through next time. I started on moon as the ‘easiest’ world but those damn pipes keep freezing! It’s far more difficult since the phase change…

@@jakubpollak2067 that’s not the problem unfortunately. It’s the ‘cold’ tank on my furnace…. The co2 keeps freezing in the cooling loop and im trying to avoid the need for pipe heaters on a cooling loop!

After phase change update I was playing on Europa (dumped all storage gases before update), I had to lower the storage pressure for volatiles from geyser and adjust heating of fresh air intake from atmosphere a tweak pre-combustor on furnace too Now I am playing at Mimas and I had same problem with my waste tank, I just switched everything to insulated and added some logic to toggle cooling on/off. I think only thing that's hard now is storing large quantity of gases/liquids. I want to experiment with storing waste gasses from furnace as ice tho. But I have problem getting gases in first place
@YodaIzChaos4 ай бұрын
@@Bradrackas Might want to consider filtering your waste gases to extract the gases more susceptible to phase change. (Pollutant, CO2, NOS) I strongly recommend keeping pure Nitrogen for your cooling tank, as it does not liquefy until extreme cold temperatures. More than is necessary for a cooling tank.

Overcooling is a big problem on the moon. They should move Mars up to the top of the list for the easy starter.

What about using a pressure plate or character sensor to operate the outside one-way airlock? It will pump as long as you stay in that cube, so you can just wait till it will be at nil temperature then leave, no hassle with toggling active vent (but leave the controls unlocked in case of emergency)
@cowsareevil75144 ай бұрын
Nice. That should be easy enough.

Hey Mic any chance you can upload some of your most recent world saves to steam? Not sure if any of your older worlds still work since the update. Love the content, just started on the moon and having a hell of a time learning the gasses.

you should isolate your air lock from the main grid the way you have set it up atm when your bateries go out for what ever reason it will drain the Batterie in the APC
@TianarTruegard4 ай бұрын
I always wire my airlocks with dedicated backup batteries. Each airlock is a separate battery backed grid. I've been trapped in too many airlocks when power failed in my base. :D

Why is the external temperature showing over 2000C inside your base?

@@malkuth1974 but how is stuff not melting away? Also, I thought there was a vacuum in this room. Apparently there isn't?
@malkuth19744 ай бұрын
@@dzejridnot enough gas to actually do things, it would be like spilling a tiny bit of coffee on table, or having a little burst of steam coming out oven after opening it. Think of it as a rounding error. In reality he’s in a vacuum it would instantly turn to ice.
@jakubpollak20674 ай бұрын
@dzejrid this was problem in older build, when you had high temperature gas in whole base even at tiny pressure, stuff got destroyed, canisters exploded etc. because they checked only temperature of ambient atmosphere Now they should exchange heat, so that tiny amount of heat in gas shouldn't make problems anymore and cool down, but low pressure also make heat exchange very slow, so it will act almost as vacuum
@cowsareevil75144 ай бұрын
Not sure. I think very low pressure might heat up very quickly in the sun.

It might have been a good idea to keep 1 mushroom planted in the garden so that it can keep the other plants alive as a failsafe. Though that method may have been patched out.
@Bradrackas4 ай бұрын
I’ve found having the same number of mushrooms growing as your other crops nicely balances out the carbon dioxide usage. Virtually no need to top up at all. The pain is just picking them! And I’ve not got the Harvies working yet…
