Erin is such an under-appreciated final girl!!

I like how in this version, they give Leatherface a reason for wearing masks.

IMO, What Erin goes through in this movie makes Sally's ordeal look like a kid's birthday party. She goes to Hell and back in the purest sense.

This was one of the best horror remakes ever, in my opinion. Jessica Biel nailed it as a final girl. She genuinely looks afraid...and her acting is great because in real life she's a pretty jocky, tough kind of girl. Not for nothing but the trailer is also sort of a masterclass in...trailers.

When it came out nobody liked it, and now years later everyone loves it.

In the 1974 original, they tried to make Leatherface more of a sympathetic character. He was a brutal killer but he was always under the control of rest of his much more malicious family. In 2003, they actually gave Leatherface an edge. They just made him a pure ass brute. He was far more vicious and dangerous than his 1974 counterpart. He was just evil. Without a doubt, 2003's remake has the best Leatherface.

Fuck yeah man! One of the best remakes of the 2000’s, more gritty and grotesque than the original imo. Performances in this are far better than the original. Jessica Biel is superb. Better cinematography, tighter script. The origins is a classic for what it is, but this is a better film.

Ah, Eric Balfour (playing Kemper Sterling). Hot off his stellar work on Six Feet Under as Gabriel. really good stuff. and R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket) is perfect as the creepy, terrifying Sheriff. then, randomly produced by Michael Bay. because, sure. But the Netflix Texas Chainsaw is decidedly not good. it gets everything wrong - atmosphere, characterization, even the kills are sub par. shame, really. but a great reaction to this one!

I had to watch the movie myself before watching your react. 2000s horror is so nostalgic for me. I went ahead and watched the 2006 one in case you decided to watch that one, so I can actually watch on time this time, and that one became my absolute favorite. I loved all the characters, which is unusual in horror because I feel like they make you not like some so you won’t care too much if they die. Anyway, hope you get around to watching it. Meanwhile, I’m super pumped for the Saw franchise!

I love this one. Of course you have to watch the prequel (the beginning). Not as good that this one but for the lore of Leatherface and the family, is great. The 2022 is a « sequel » to the original but the 3D too is a sequel begins right the day after Sally’s Nightmare, and I think the 3D version of 2013 is a lot better than the 2022. But is just My opinion. Like usual Cole, great reaction btw. 😊❤

Love this movie. In my opinion this is the best one in the Franchise. You should check out The Skeleton Key and Tric 'r Treat, both are great movies to watch during the Halloween season.

Lot of people don't know, but the original was shot aiming for a PG rating and was envisioned by the director/writer as a dark comedy and unintentionally created one of the most unsettling horror movies ever made *because* it used atmosphere and the twisted nature of the family rather than relying on blood and gore effects which hardly stood up to the decade, let alone the turn of the century. It's more obvious with the second movie where he turned the camp up to 11 to convey more of his original intent. This movie and Beginnings are awesome, lot of people hate on how corny or how much is changed with these old horror icons in the 2000s remakes (Rob Zombie's Halloween, Thing, Leatherface, Nightmare, F13, Bloody Valentine etc) are, but I love them as their own takes on the classics and enjoy them every bit as much for different reasons.

Glad you enjoyed this one! This is one of my favorite remakes. Jessica Biel is great and Leatherface is a beast. The prequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is good too. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Netflix “requel”, it tries to copy what Halloween 2018 did, just doesn’t do as good of a job. Another god remake you should check out is The Hills Have Eyes.

I’ve said it before, but I love how expressive you get in your reactions! That’s pretty much how I’d be reacting to if I had a camera on me wile watching this. I really love what they did with this one and how it’s not a carbon copy of the original. That scene where Erin is running in to meat factory and Leatherface grabs her leg gets me every time! 😂 I know you’ve already done the prequel (which I found to be disappointing compared to this one), but I do hope you check out the 2022 legacy sequel as well. It’s a guilty pleasure for me!

I love this version and it's far superior to the 1973 original, but it's definitely unfair to compare the two, but you have to give '73 it's due, because it started it all to make modern horror what it is. The difference between the two is this... - Leather in this is just ignorant and not mentally disabled. -Instead of having two brothers(Nubbins and Chop Top*TCM2*), Leather now has two Uncles(Sheriff/ Hoyt and Monty*wheelchair dude*). -Jedidiah(who is also from the RING 1 & 2) is Leather's cousin. -Instead of the Hitchhiker/Nubbins, they went with a Survivor(Lauren German, the main girl from HOSTEL II). TCM '03 was an excellent remake and I feel it didn't shit on the original. I know you are gonna watch TCM '22 which is a God awful sequel to the original...and let's be honest...everyone just wants you to watch the bus scene(the best part of the movie). TCM2 is far superior to TCM'22 due to it's a solid written sequel and you see the fallout from part 1 and it introduced to the World one of the modern Scream Queens of Horror, Caroline Williams. The sequel to this is actually a prequel to this movie so yea there is a sequel an a prequel in the same movie. Now thats why the girl offed himself at the start because they were going the wrong way. Her mind was not able to communicate anything more then that. She thought they would take her away from there not back there. I prefer the original over this or any of the other remains or reboots. Because this one an they are your basic slasher movie that makes. Every one of the creepy crazy people look an sound creepy and crazy right from the start. So its not a surprise when you find out they are creepy an crazy. Basically its a standard slasher movie that makes all the creepy and crazy people. Look an sound creepy and crazy right from the start. So there is really no surprises in this movie or the ones that fallow. Wich is why I like the original movie batter because. You really had no idea what was going to happen until it actually happened. This kind of a movie works an it's a decent standard slasher movie. But when its a remake an the original movie is more suspenseful because you can't see things coming. Until it happens the original will always be better then a remake thats just your standard straight up slasher. That makes it obvious who the creepy an crazy people are right from the start. Because in the original movie you have no idea that the gas station owner. Was in on it or that something was off with him till it was to late he has her trapped. But in this one even the truck driver seen the gas station owner an was like something is not right here. Put it this way I seen countless horror movies like this one so this one is forgettable to me. But I only seen one movie like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. That movie was the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie an that movie only. Thats saying something considering I seen to many movies that have. Murderous, cannibalistic , familys in many kinds of places. I remember one that had a story plot about bringing back a dead family member using so supernatural ritual. This family member was legitimately dead by the way. But this movies formula is so simple it has been copied so many times its not even funny. Like for example the Bunnyman Massacre 2011 movie an its two sequels Bunnyman 2 an Bunnyman Vengeance. Its simple an formulaic that any one can easily copy it an they have. Side note if you like this movie you may like the Bunnyman movies.
