Habitats aren't as good as they used to be but they aren't exactly garbage either. It's just that their use isn't obvious at first glance. There are several ways to optimize them. In your situation, I think the best build would be a Fortress Habitats. Fortress buildings provide 3 soldier jobs and 3 housing. So if you spam Fortresses along with 4 or 5 trade districts and one or two habitation districts, you should be able to unlock most buildings slots in an habitat. Each soldier provides 4 naval capacity, so a single well optimized Fortress Habitat can give you maybe 100 to 150 naval capacity total.

I don't usually comment, but I just wanted to say that your Stellaris playthroughs are the best. Thank you for hours of high quality entertainment. PS. I've read on the forums that kinetic artillery is actually a better deal against The Unbidden because of their longer range and higher average damage.

I did a Gospel of the Masses mega-church with a conformist race called the Unificationtarianists. The bonus for spiritual pops was nice, but mostly it was just amusing having like zero faction deviancy going on.

The goal being to make a universe teeming with diverse lifeforms. Bio ascension, xenocompatibility, and making gaia worlds all over the place. Possibly starting with syncretic evolution or agrarian idyll civics.Thanks again for doing these full Stellaris runs. Habitats are good for creating an FTL roadblock. Put a habitat and a citadel in a chokepoint, take whatever you want for districts and build stronghold/fortresses on the building slots. Also fun for creating a single system that produces more energy/trade than a dyson sphere with a single 25 arcology planet and 5 to 7 trade district habitats, all loaded with commercial buildings. Pirates can't hit your trade route if there is no trade route. *points finger at forehead*

I really like the format where you only focuses on the interesting parts of the game for the video, keep up the good work! Also, try the one-world challenge, should be fun to do by enslaving pops to produces food and minerals (and stealing the pops like you did here ;) )

These full playthroughs of stellaris amaze me

There are enough 25's to turn into arcologies and decent sized feeder planets in the L-Cluster that I like to take the whole thing, get it set up with 10 pops per world and then turn my main-galaxy holdings into a vassal and just turtle up and wait for the crisis to trash the rest of the universe.

I watched this sick with a migraine and when the robot said it had substance abuse, I thought "hmm, wait it shocks itself with electricity! Lore found!". My brain was not functioning at full capacity

I never use a higher speed than normal, because the AI can multitask way more efficiently, executing tons more actions on that time scale than I'm able to keep up with, so usually a Stellaris map ends with me getting bored before even the endgame crisis starts, at least since 2.2 slowed the game to a crawl. I really appreciate that I can still experience the game through your playthrough videos, seeing you accomplish more in one and a half hours than I do playing the game in one and a half weeks.

As a machine hive it was fun to make pre 2.2 habitats and ringworlds that were designed as massive work camps in space. Now im just content to turn some into massive livestock ranches.

Have you done a game with Warrior culture yet? Im using it now and the unity and amenities you get from it is amazing. combine that with the fact each duelist gives 2 naval cap, you effectively get 4 naval cap per holo theatre. all for a pesky single alloy per duelist.

You should try the mod that makes all the crisis happen in the same game. You clearly need more of a challenge. lol
