Awesome video! I actually stumbled upon this one while watching your fender extension install video on the road king (I think it was a 2011) . I have since installed that on my 2011 road king and it looks great! I then followed your instructions in this video, ordered stretched 14 up bags and this mod worked perfectly! I love having the one touch bags (or whatever they're called)! Glad I didn't pay 80 bucks for new bracket hardware! Great videos, keep them coming!

Thanks for great instructional video. Got my Advanblack 2014 extended saddlebags in today and installed them in about 3 hours. I tried to swap my 2013 locks to the 2014 bags but didn't work as the locking mechanism is too different apparently. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

i have a 98 electra glide and all I had to do was put a 1" spacer on front mounts and adjust rear mounts and new bags fit perfectly

You have a video on 53-84'bags mount to a 93-2013 bag brackets. Almost need two boomerang style brackets for the older bags to mount on to. Mounting the bracket into the 93-2013 saddle bag mounts.

Will the saddlebag guard from the '13 & downward look OK or should I get the '14 & up saddlebag guards so they will line up properly and look parallel to the front of the '14 & up cuz the '14 & up saddlebags have a slightly different profile shape than the '13 & down bags?

If you have the Monster Ovals, stretched bags will not fit unless you really shim out the bags.

Just added 2014 & up saddle bags off my 2011 Street Glide this method worked however now my Seat Belt brackets no longer fit so no more seat Belt.

Hi Steve, thanks for the great video. I inherited my Dad's 03' road king and want to go with the new model lids/bags. Question - i also purchased rear lowering brackets that kick out the rear shocks. Do you know if there are any interference issues with the Advanblack bags when using these lowering kits? (PS - at some point i'll do airbags and know that's a better option). I have a question . I put stretched '14 bags on my '06 ultra and I'm having a problem with a 1/2 inch gap at he back of the bag where the bolt goes through the bag to secure it on only the rightside of the bike. the left side fits perfect. I tried to tighten up the left one but then my lid does fit properly . Any ideas what i could do besides putting a spacer in . Ive tried a spacer and the gap between the fender and the bags look like shit. Any Help Thanks

I purchased the full set of 14' and up for my 03' Road King. They don't fit. One issue I didn't think about (and I don't think that was mentioned) is that these bags are not compatible with bag rails. They bow out slightly and rub against them. The other issue is they sit right against my V&H pipes and do not have a uniform gap around the pipe. The rep informed me to loosen and rotate the pipe as Steve showed on previous videos but my pipes are tapered and have the V&H insignia on the top. Advanblack only has a 14 day return policy and I didn't have the bike when I made the purchase. So now I'm stuck with a set of unpainted dual cut bags with lids and 6x9 lids plus the bag liners. About $1400 all in. DM me if you want a good deal

no they will not work...the 08 and older is a shorter and thinner bike and there is no wiggle room on the side covers.

Hey Cody....At this time we only have side covers for 09 to 13 and 14 to 19. The placement of the pins is whats going to throw this off if you try to run them with 14 up bags...the bags have a place where we can adjust the brackets, as in this video, but the side covers do not. Now I have not personally tested a 97 - 08 for side covers, so I wont definitively say that this cant be done. I have just not tested it.

Hi, will 2014 and up bags sit within the chrome tubing frame of my "11 UC? I heard there was also a width difference?

Hey..I did some measuring this morning and the 13 bags are a tad wider than the 14 so no issue there...but the length of the bag is about 3cm longer ..a little over an inch. I would be afraid to say yes...it would be tight. Best bet is to find a set of bags and drop one in and see before you change over.

You can search for any stretched side cover for your year bike and it should meet the front angle of any stretch bag..they are all pretty much universal

So my '97 Road King has different brackets than shown here. But with some work, I was able to make it fit. I ordered a set of the cheapo EBay 14+ bags to experiment with. I had to extend the slot, reshape the rear S shaped bracket and space out the front U shaped bracket. But it does indeed fit, and looks great.... If these cheap bags break or anything I'll be ordering the Advan bags to replace them.

yes all it takes is adjusting rear mount and a 1" spacer and longer screws on front mounts... i just got done putting them on my 98 electra glide

yes. in fact, its easier to adjust the brackets on 1994-2008 bikes than 2009-2013 bikes

The size and shape of the rear fender has not changed since 2009 up to 21...that being said technically it will fit. With the electra glides you may have a fender tip light..when you remove that it will have a hole for the wire, the extension will not cover that hole...so it really depends on how your fender is on your bike now...Electra glides and road kings are the same ass end. No pre mounted fender extension. So you have to do the work as far as drilling and mounting. the 09 to 20 fender extension will not fit on an 03...advanblack has one for the 08 or older bikes. You have to use that one because the rear fender is much more narrow than the 09 up.

You may be able to mount the bags but not the fender extension, 08 down had a more narrow rear end. You may have to modify your brackets a little more or even dremel out the rear of the bag bar and let it drop some but im sure with some ingenuity you could get them to work.

Ive never seen it done...it would take alot as the fairings mount completely different ..you would be better off just buying an aftermarket fairing for your year that has the upgraded features of the newer fairing like double din radio...this is an example .however there are cheaper ones out there insaneasylummotorsports.com/products/98-to-13-street-glide-inner-fairing-double-din-with-6-5-s-xpert-audio-package

Any stretch saddlebag will for touring will fit your deluxe you just need the proper saddlebag rail conversion kit. Find that rail and you can choose any touring stretched bags on the market...We have them at Advanblack color matched as long as we do your color or you can get them raw and have them painted. You will need the bags, lids and one touch hardware.

I got my bags and fender extension in this morning after a five week wait and the paint is way off. I ordered billet silver parts and have a feeling I got brilliant silver instead. Not happy at all at this point. Hopefully this gets fixed asap.

Cool man...it was hard to tell in the video but at least they are fixing it...I have seen a lot of the color go out with no issues so Im not sure what happened there. Sorry man.

I did this conversion and could not be happier. Well I could be happier if I could upgrade my 2013 fairing to a 2014 and up fairing. Is it possible?

Not without changing nearly everything on the front end.....if you are wanting to do the inner fairing so you have a double din radio, they make those...thats way easier than changing the inner and outer...but im not sure what your doing..inner, outer, both? let me know

Yes if you order the new lids with the one touch hardware you get a new set of keys with that. Its a standard tumbler lock like your OEM locks so you cna change the tumbler and go through HD to replace with one that matches your key. Its through the VIN number so only HD can that.

It should...ive sen them running around here with these bags. Im pretty sure thats all they did was adjust the front mount.

In the rear fender extension the one I’ve got has tail light that has 3?or 4 bar lights in there. Does anyone know if I can buy a wiring pigtail for my 2013 ultra limited that goes from the original tail to the bar lights in the fender extension? Thanks

its a tri bar light that you are referring to. unfortunately no, this mod will not work with your 08.

So are the lids hinged like the 14 up stock bikes with the one handed open?

yes...that is basically what this conversion is for...so you can have the one touch hardware like the 14 ups have. The style of the bag is only slightly different as the 14 up does not have that curved line in the sidewall of the bag. If you are doing this conversion you must change the bags and the lids. 14 up lids wont fit on 13 down bikes and vise versa.

If you have the same bracket on the rear of the bike you can do the mod...the 14 up fender, fender extension or side covers will not work though...just the bags and lids

Now...... the locks..... how do you change the guts from old over to new. Being that its impossible to locate new style locks with old style key codes.
