Stevie is the only member of Fleetwood Mac as this was her solo tour. Some of the musicans in this show are Waddy Watchel on lead guitar, Roy Bittan (from the E Street Band) on piano Russ Kunkel on drums and other musicians musicians on other instruments. Her sister is one of the backing singers.

The guy in the yellow sweatshirt is Jimmy Iovine who produced Stevie’s first two Solo Records and they were seeing each other at the end of recording Belladonna. Everyone falls in love with Stevie.

The piano player is Roy Bittan from E Street Band, the organ player is Benmont Tench from Tom Petty & Heartbreakers, drums is Russ Kunkel who played with a lot of people like James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Linda Rondstadt, the guitar player is Waddy Wachtel who was most known for Linda Rondstadt in the 70's, Ms. Bobbye Hall on percussion who played on a multitude of records. The song itself is rumored to be about her relationship with Mick Fleetwood, Don Henley who got her pregnant and she had an abortion (there's a heartbeat, and it never really died)...she stated if she would have a baby she would name it Sara. The song has a multiple layer of meanings. Building the house I believe was about Don Henley.

Big fan of her! Was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame twice once with F.M. other as a soloist. Also enjoyed yr comments especially the backstory. Never knew she had a relationship with Mick. Actually the best thing he did was hire her and Lindsey when Bob Welch left. True story. Lindsey told Mick either hire both of us or no deal. One of the greatest singers ever Stevie and one of the greatest bands ever.

This song was on Tusk which was a fantabulous album and post-“Rumours”. This is my all-time favorite song...performed here by her band. Shout out to the girls singing back up& Waddy who I think is fab but intrinsically knows how to throw kick-ass rock into the words of a poet. I’ve heard the original version of “Sara” has 16 verses...love love to hear it!!!

You should react to Stevie along with her two backup singers at this same concert to Leather and Lace. They are amazing, the three of them singing together into one microphone. It's beautiful. You'll really like it.

Sara is the name that Stevie gave to her child that she had aborted and that the dad was Don Henley from the band called the Eagles. The song has to do with their relationship between them and the house she sings about is the house that Don was building for them at the time. ....alot of people don't know the true meaning......... yet its one of her greatest songs ever

@@terriertz6837 yes it is....she has also said it's about a friend of hers that died. But all you have to do is LISTEN to the words from the very start. The song is about the baby that she aborted. It wouldn't be fashionable for her to talk about that cause it would admit some regret for her to make a song about it, now wouldn't it? Funny how no one wants to talk about or mention abortion in the same verse that women may have regret or guilt about it. Guess what most women who have abortions DO have guilt and regrets. Abortion is good for the man who got the woman pregnant and he never bears the guilt or goes thru the pain and loss. Women always carry the scars regardless of what it is. Love how they say that 'men are the strong ones' ha......men can't do 1/4 of what women do in life.

I was 16 /17 when dreams came out 1977 her voice is captivating I love people with unusual voices kate bush U2 few others that I trying to think of R.E.M the list and of course David Bowie David Gilmour, when she sings sara later in life the hole thing is much slower but just as captivating.

Her best friend Sara R was a model who started seeing Mic Fleetwood at the tail end of Stevie’s affair with Mic. He is the dark wing and Lindsey is building the house. She threw them all in. One of Stevie’s signature songs.

This is a solo concert tour from her hit 1st solo album Bella Dona. No fleetwood mac members are on this tour. These are musicians she knows or has worked with before.

This song is a Stevie Nicks song. She wrote it. So when she made Bella Dona (her first solo album) it was on that album. It was never a Fleetwood Mac recorded song. Although they would often play her solo hits when doing a Fleetwood Mac full band concert. Just some cheerful FYI 🥰 thank you for reviewing this outstanding live performance by the exquisite, one and only Stevie Nicks.

Sara is the 2nd single from the album Tusk by Fleetwood Mac in 1979. Following a grueling world tour and the release of a Live album, each member went their own way. Stevie Nicks recorded her debut solo album Bella Donna (1981) and undertook her first ever solo tour (from which this footage comes). The tour was cut short as Fleetwood Mac geared up to record their next album Mirage. Mick Fleetwood would go on to marry a friend of Stevie's named Sara (the ex-wife of songwriter Jim Recor). Stevie herself had a brief affair with Mick Fleetwood during the Rumours era of 1977-78. Stevie Nicks team of bscking vocalists (for her entire career to date) includes Sharon Celani and Lori Perry (soon to be Stevie's sister in law).

Christine, Lindsey are definitely not there although that does look suspiciously like Mic on drums. This was a solo tour for Stevie and truthfully I believe this was during one of their breakups for Fleetwood Mac. That was known to happen from time to time.

Me and my Late Cousin Spent an outrageous amount of money from ticket scalpers to go see Stevie Nicks on her Bellodonna Tour... Man !! What a Performance and would you believe that ZZ Top was the opening act... We were in our early 20s when we went to the concert..I'm now 58 and my Cousin Steve would have been 60 if he were still here.. passed away from leukemia almost 10 years ago.... Whenever I hear a Stevie Nicks song,be it solo or with Fleetwood Mac I think of my Cousin Steve,and all the good times we had..😌... In retrospect,it was worth every dollar and then some !!!!

Backing vocalist in red became her sister in law and mother to services niece. Lori Perry Nick's. Sharon Celani the other vocalist is amazing and has been a constant in stevies solo career. Her part in edge of 17 is awesome.

Yes I'm probably way late on this...but this was Stevie's first very short solo tour for Bella Donna in late 1981... No fleetwood mac on this one... Benmont Tench- keys Roy Bittan- keys Sharon Celani & Lori Perry- b. vocals ..during the writing of this song, stevie was still dating Don Henley(eagles)..who was building a new house at the time..hence the references to "building that house.." ..also, Sara Fleetwood is the Sara in the song...but as well, Stevie had an abortion, the baby being Don's...& this is her song to her baby she couldn't have....".. there's a heartbeat...& it never really died.." 🎩✨💱

Her mic is a Sennheiser MD441U which was a popular mic for vocalists (and one of her favorites) then because it added a warmth that Shure mics didn't really have (which were very rugged mics, less expensive and great for touring so were another popular mic brand then). I've had both (but not the 441...couldn't afford that model then).

The best Sara's version is the official music video 1979 with FM ..The guitar's improvisation by Lindsey is just so good, so in tune and unique..Without Lindsey, No Stevie, shame on them for breaking the chain.

Dereck, you've been "Enchanted"...first you must read up on the entire history of Fleetwood Mac-not a painful read by any stretch but there are layers that obviously regard Stevie. I actually have a fan club card for the "Stevie Nicks Fan Club" . I got it when I was 12. I have carried it with me since and will probably have it cremated with me-decided just now. Anyhow, a faithful FM fan X40 years but Stevie is my rock-n-roll fairy godmother; singing promises of....who cares? I wanna go wherever she says! I have to note that Stevie is a HUGE supporter of our soldiers , off-camera, quiet. Has donated her time and money to Walter Reed Hospital for 20yrs. Delivers I-PODS to soldiers, veterans, some now disabled facing years of treatment and more surgeries, filled w/ her playlists.

That isn't the reason. She said she was pregnant with Don Henley when they hooked up. She got an abortion and she named the baby Sara. I mean "He was singing to me and undoing the laces" The lyrics are her singing to Sara. Read the lyrics and read her interviews regarding the song.

Two Sara's one was Mich Fleetwoods girlfriend that he dumped Stevie for called Sara Recor that he married and later divorced,the other was Sara the aborted child when she was with Don Henley in 77 a verse is about Don building his house when you finish give me a call some people go through some painful things in life and Stevie had hers the original was 16 minutes long it was not water she went backstage for. Love and Peace.

That's an amazing song for sure, but imo it is always better to react to Fleetwood Mac songs being performed by Fleetwood Mac. I understand the fact that Sara is written by Stevie, but what makes those songs special is the musicianship of the five. Christine's keyboards and Lindsey's guitar along with John and Mick's rhythm section deliver those songs in a very unique approach specifically because of bashing together their different musical backgrounds they all came from. When they play FM songs on their solo shows that's okay but not on comparable way for me personally. Upd: And yes, their backing vocals to each other! Would be cool if you will check Little Lies by Fleetwood Mac.
