I have always loved the line "Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself. If they were brown, Shady lose, Shady sits on the shelf" - just the sheer creativity and rhyme scheme of stating something so simple. Any other rapper would have been straight literal with it, but only Em can say it it a way that is not in your face, has multiple meanings, and you immediately STILL get it

We will never be able to understand your struggles, and never pretend to.but he made it bust wide open with “you don’t have to be my color/background/religion to understand my problems or switched around, but we can help each other in every aspect. Dre being African American signed him and catapulted him in a predominately black genre, while Eminem at the same time (as mentioned in the track) brought light to problems going on that kids who grew up in suburbia would’ve never known. I love how every part of the composition of this song is such an “in your face” vibe. And Eminem’s lyrics drive it home so much. My father was a musician. He gave me my voice, and my passion for writing and performing. But he always hated rap. Couldn’t stand it. When I was a kid we’d go back and forth repeating tongue twisters. And I think that’s the reason I fell in love with rap music today. Ironically it makes me feel so much closer to my dad. And I eventually convinced him to listen to at least some artists. RIP, Dad. I love the gift of music you’ve given me. And I will share that with the world.

Reaction on point. Em has always been aware. Its why he’s so much more political and willing to stand up for the culture and community it gave him a new life just like anyone else who survived. his rhymes are so much more meaningful than 75% of guys minimum It’s everyone else who’s black and not as good as him who are salty and you’re one of the reactors willing to call that out. So much respect to you that even discovering the depth of Eminem later than everyone else can see that. It’s not like Eminem has ever said “n****” or singled anyone out who didn’t come for him or his people first. His skills prove his dedication to the game. He’s rarely matched and never out rhymed

That so true. I know a couple people that are like I stop listening to eminem because he's getting all political. No your mad because he talked about Trump. You loved it when he made fun of every one else. Plus eminem has no limits he kind of even had a beef with an actor that played superman and was paralyzed (just for fun) nobody or thing is safe.

@@itskev8126 Eminem didn't make fun of Trump. He picked a clear cut side. No one would have a problem with bashing Trump when 99% of celebrities do it. He said I'm drawing a line and I'm on this side on BCT cypher. I'm like alright and I'm not even american. A world class artist dipping himself down to politics is pathetic. He said on sway interview he watches too much news. Now I know why.
