Introducing the new STIHL HLA 66 and HLA 86 cordless long-reach hedge trimmers, designed for domestic users with large hedges to maintain, as well as for landscaping professionals and groundskeepers.
Both cordless hedge trimmers are ideal for pruning tall and wide hedges as well as trimming smaller shrubs and bushes, the STIHL HLA 66 has a fixed length shaft, whilst the HLA 86 has a telescopic shaft. They both feature a series of upgrades over the previous models to improve ease and comfort during use.
These cordless hedge trimmers are perfectly balanced thanks to the well-positioned AP battery, both are lightweight for easier handling and help to reduce fatigue when working over longer periods.
Thanks to the robust EC motor, the hedge trimmer blades are capable of rapid acceleration up to 3000 rpm to help you get the best performance, and the tool can be used in wet conditions to minimise downtime. The 115º swivelling cutter bar allows you to achieve top, side and bottom cuts easily, whilst the blade is also sharpened on both sides for efficient cutting in any direction. Additionally, the cutter blade can be folded flat for storage and to save space when transporting the tool.
Both models feature a new ergonomic control handle for a simple and intuitive start-up process, that also means you can’t start the machine accidentally. This clever design also ensures that the cordless hedge trimmer is comfortable to use whether right-handed or left-handed and features anti-slip protection for further safety and comfort.
The HLA 66 is available with a loop handle and shaft grip for comfort when trimming close to where you are standing, whilst the HLA 86 extendable hedge trimmer is telescopic for longer reach. With an adjustable length of 260cm - 330cm, users can easily find the best working position using the STIHL HLA 86, whilst the square shaft design prevents twisting and minimises flexing so you can position the hedge trimmer precisely even when it's fully extended.
Both HLA 66 and HLA 86 cordless hedge trimmers can be used with STIHL’s high-performance 36V AP System batteries and are compatible with a number of accessories, including our RTS harness and a catcher plate for the cutting blade. Both of these cordless tools have a working time of 144 minutes when using the AP 200 battery.
