When I was a kid I discovered stinging nettle when another kid said, "Hey, pick this." Yes, I discovered stinging nettle in a most memorable way. Now many decades later, I am watching this while sipping my first cup of nettle tea. Time to get the benefits from that long-ago sting. I normally prefer teas and coffees with sugar or honey. However, I'm fine with just hot nettle tea. As an insulin-dependent diabetic also dealing with high cholesterol, and just getting older, I can appreciate this.

Its well known In jamaica that you don’t dry your herbs in the sun. We wash it leave in the sun to dry the water. Then right away put in the shade to dry. That way the herb maintains its nutritional integrity. I was just wondering why you fry in the sun? Thx for the informative video
@SonoranPunk
@SonoranPunk Ай бұрын
Nettle is harvested in areas with low temperatures around 65 degrees much farther north than Jamaica and so the sun doesn’t fry it like southern areas.

Wow wonderful message. I use nettle leaves I have them in my yard. I don't have the red nettle I have the green nettle. I cook with it, since I am vegan, I combind it with the flour gluten free, mix the leaves with it and make a flat bread in the pot on the stove I even use them in soup. Wow they don't last with me because I consume it everyday. One question does the nettle leaves helps with the Artritis? Thank you so much for sharing. I drink two tea up a day of nettle leaves one in the morning and one before I go to bed. Another thing I brew the leaves and after cool I drink the water right through the day. 😊😅it's amazing what herbs tea can do for our body and immune system. Am watching from Trinidad 🇹🇹. Did enjoy your video. God bless. What I think is, that God has created his natural medicine the herbs , and if we consume them I think that we won't have to be visiting the Dr's. Because God is our Dr I'm everything and what we need to remember is that our Bodies are his he takes cares of it , and we need to take care if it also Amén 😊❤

Hello, I just harvested a big shrub sized yesterday and I dont have the patience to dry it to make tea. I crammed all the washed fresh leaves into a 1 liter jar and it basically was packed tight. Then I put some alcohol and boiling 1/2 liter water in it, closed it tight and 12 hrs later repeated that process. That tea is very very bitter, I'm just wondering if it is better to dry it to make tea and if making it with green leaves hurts its benefits. Also after 2 passes with hot water, can I still dry it and make tea when its dry ?

You Russians do seem to have a much better understanding and memory of herbs than we do. Perhaps it is the lack of oil based toxic medicines that keep your hair and skin looking great. Then again, at your age it should be. I'm going to watch the in depth video on Nettles as I drink lots of it. I mix it with Camomile, Fenugreek, Ginseng, and even fresh ginger tea. The ginger tea mix taste like a nasty thing... but it seems to help with my joint pain at T1 and the first rib.

How to remove the stinging hair of leaves before it is consumed so as to avoid allergy inside the body???

Great question. I was washing the nettle with gloves. Once they are washed. The stinginess goes away. I was washing them and then drying them out under the sun.

FESH NETTLE TEA without drying the nettles, with gloves on pull or snip off the top 2 or 3 sets of leaves + stem from 2 or 3 or 4 nettles (depending on what strength of tea you like!) and place them in an almost-boiling water saucepan 500-1,000mls water (I have heard 90 degrees maximum) and cover with the lid then drink it 20 minutes after it should still be a bit warm if the nettle is seeding that's fine, the seeds are really good for the body just don't choke!

@@greekmamalife even if they’ve just grown randomly in my garden? I mean I never planted them and I haven’t ever grown anything in my garden so it’s all natural growth, is this still okay to have ?

Stinging Nettle plant can grow almost anywhere very quickly like wildfire in abundance, as a child we had a huge garden full of it, my father would scyth it all down only for it to grow back more abundant, we usually always had Nettle added in our soups and broths
