this is the only kind of romantic movie that i would watch.

Noomi is perfect, as usual. Ethan fits wholly the character of that past age. A movie at times touching and always fascinating....to watch absolutely.

The real robbers' list of the stuff they wanted to get into the bank is a classic piece of comedy gold swedish crime-history. The list included: "Boxes of Prince cigarettes," "WHISKEY!!" (almost etched into the paper, even underlined twice, lol), "calming pills.. for the ladies if they get nervous!", a tv with a specific inch screen and specific amounts of toilet paper and vegetables and so on. And the list was scribbled down in such a un-organized sloppy style which only an oldschool swedish outlaw wrote at that time. It makes swedes laugh today cuz it made it look like they really believed swedish cops would let them stay there n chill for months lol.

Noomi Rapace got my attention in the Swedish version of Stieg Larsson's trilogy, that Hollywood botched later, and she is one of my favorite foreign actresses. I do look fwd to the day when the American (hollywood) system casts her better. Then again, I might be expecting too much from an industry that addicted to adrenochrome and other Satanic actions/rituals.

I’m not sure who’s a better/ worse actor: E Hawke or Nic. Cage? They’re both genuinely not good. They both have their own flavour. I’m curious how Rapace works with someone who is genuinely incapable of deep acting.

If you should trust Clark Olofsson, who was the guy brought from prison, this is not quite how it went? CO wasn't really a close friend to the bank robber and more or less unaware of his plans. The women became charmed by CO, not the bank robber, who was guy. They called it the Stockholm syndrome, however, not surprisingly to a northerner, that stockholmers not are at their full use of their senses. The elevator doesn't go all the way up, so to speak. The movie is ok, although I have no idea way they call it a comedy. It's not funny in any way.

Maybe if Ethan Hawke wasn't cast as the romantic lead the movie wouldn't have gone straight to the bargain bin at WalMart.

I'm probably wrong about this because I've only seen the trailer at this point. This movie looks terrible. My favorite genre are probably dark comedies but this movie feels offensive. The choice of music makes it seem as though psychologically scarring and murdering innocent people is a cute and fun thing to do. If you search dark comedy in google, all of the top films present messed up stuff as comedy without denying that those things are messed up. This adds a degree of connection with the real world. Stockholm, on the other hand (based only on a trailer lol) I feel like I would watch it and not be able to stop thinking about how much of an asshole the writer (and director) must be. Then again, it might just be the trailer that is bad, OR MORE LIKELY STILL that I have completely misinterpreted everything.

I thought this was a chick flick for a minute.
