Whether you want to know how to hit a golf ball with your driver or how to hit a golf ball with an iron this golf lesson shows you how to hit both much straighter.
If you want to stop a hook or a slice then the Reverse Engineer Drill reveals how if you start with the end in mind you can work to eliminate all slices and hooks and make you a more consistent golfer.
Start with the end in mind and work backwards.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Someone showed me a nifty trick that isn't right but it fixes it. If you want to fade drop your left foot back , if you want to draw drop your right foot back. It sort of forces this directional thing naturally. It helped me with my driver. I also have to play my driver about 6 inches behind the ball so that I'm naturally on the way up when I swing. The exaggerated lowering of the right shoulder feels so weird and makes me swing bloody awful. I love all your videos. There is no one better than you.

Great video Danny. My problem is I both hook and slice the ball! I know I generally come from in to out so I've been working on my turn and to feel like I'm steepening my swing plane rather have the feeling of a round the body flatter baseball swing. Swinging left as you suggest certainly has helped despite it being completely counter intuitive as you mentioned and that has helped but clearly I'm over doing it at times to get the slice as well as an occasional push. Straight would be great ! My golf buddies tell me all my shots are fantastic shots but just on the wrong hole☺
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 жыл бұрын
keith thomson hi Keith, if you come from in to out then it’s a push slice so you need to take on the hook cure. This will get you swinging the club head down a path that feels more left

Morning Danny, another thought provoking video. Help and advice please. By way of background, I'm an "out to in" player who comes down too steep that too often results in "chunks", which I'm told is because I have difficulty clearing the hips. However as a Pensioner all I'm trying to do is work with what I have. One minute my shot is great, then it's a hook and the next it's a push slice - strangely, 8-SW tend to be fine. So to your video. When I'm practising, if I have the "sensation" of hitting out to the right, my shots are straight with great flight and I can feel the base of the club brushing the ground, which is what I want. However when you're playing in a QC Medal, doubt creeps in, the confidence disappears as does hitting out to the right. I've been told by 2 Pros that there's nothing wrong with my backswing, it's all down to the through swing - over the top/out:in. After watching your video, I'm confused as to whether I'm someone who should be hitting left or right. So Dr Danny, what would you prescribe for this patient?
@DanielMaude
@DanielMaude 5 жыл бұрын
M B if it’s a push slice then you work on the anti hook, if you are an out to in swinger then it’s the anti slice. The easiest way to establish this is to aim at a target 50 yards away and hit a ball, if it starts left you have your answer and Vica versa

Always remember the golf swing is organic and is constantly changing. Its never about finding the magic tip but instead using a drill like this one to make subtle changes. If you over do this exercise (unlikely for a long time) you just move back the other way towards the other shaft line

What if I do both? Randomly? Shot to shot, nothing straight, everything either slices or hooks, no consistency about which except for the direction it starts on. If it starts right I'm going to slice it almost every time, making the bad line worse. If it starts left it's going to hook almost every time, making that bad line worse.
