A great machine I found in the trash (Milwaukee Impact Wrench M18CHIWF12) and works perfectly. Recently a Turkish truck driver was changing tires and when I offered my help and saw the Milwaukee machine he started laughing. He was able to easily remove and reinstall the rusted nuts/bolts. I think if he sees Milwaukee anywhere he won't laugh anymore. Blessed is he who lives in a rich country where such valuable machines are thrown away...

Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" kzfaq.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

@@nsboost Planentary gear set shafts go from a "Double Shear" style mount to "Single Shear" people in mechanical design studies are told to avoid "Single Shear" due to excessive risk of failure....Hope the designer was a CCP Army designer before hiring onto the covilian side of the world.

You h96a model is not having this issue. If you still want this tool you can try buying it with the case, charger and battery. Mine came with the h96a and no issues at all.

Weird I just got our half inch 650 torque model today. First time I went to use it it did that and the battery said it was full. Took the battery off and checked it again and it read empty. Put a brand new battery in it and used it for an hour after with zero issues.

the high torque i got 2 years ago still runs strong everyday and dosent fail. Its Used for sprinkler fitting, this must be a bad batch, but that's scary because i almost bought a fresh one just because. Hopefully the resort to the previous version.

Just ordered 2767-20 from ACME and received AH96B serial number. I thought these were all pulled OFF the market? ACME hadn't heard about this and told me they are contacting their Milwaukee rep. They did send me a pre-paid return label but couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't get the bad serial number if I reordered. What's that? (Just look at the box). They promised to call me back with more info. I'll keep you posted if they reply.

I have the 2864-20 3/4 “ high torque. Had it for maybe two weeks taking off semi truck wheels used it a total of three times for a total of 30 Lugnuts and during a repair or I removed a yolk nut it took it off with no problem however when reinstalling the yolk nut the impact would stop on its own with the trigger still depressed. When I’d release and pull again it would impact and stop. Finally I put it in reverse and it would not switch back to forward. I thought it maybe locked due to the one key app. But not, it was. Still working in reverse. I’ve have the older model 1/2 “ impact high torque rated at 1200 reverse torque and it’s taken a beating and still runs like a champ. I returned my 3/4” yesterday . If it breaks again , I will not get another one. I will just use air impact till Milwaukee makes a better quality 3/4”

when you go to the store, look at the serial number that is on the sticker on the box and make sure it starts with H96a and not H96b

Makita personally has a much better track record in terms of reliability, just overall they make higher quality tools in my opinion, and that's coming from someone that owns Milwaukee m18 tools..

@Sid The sloth There is a lot of other tools and things different brands do better. just a little list of issues I have had with my Milwaukee tools over the years: Drill - chucks jamming or coming undone while in use, battery wobble Impact driver - loose collet, loose battery Impact wrench - pinched internal ribbon cable from factory so it didn't work properly, loose battery, ruins batteries because of the wobble, really common issue I know a lot of people have had. Angle grinder - trigger acted up now and again.. then at one point stuck on which was quite scary tbh, had to pull the battery out. Loose battery electric ratchet - the head mechanism on the older one is common to strip out, and they still sell it. this is just a few common issues I have had but my brother who has all Makita tools hasn't had any of these issues. If I wasn't so invested in the red brand I would 100% switch, Japanese tools are just better made and more thought about in my opinion, compared to made in China tools.

Likely a cost cutting measure that looked great on paper in an executive boardroom, obviously was not tested properly if at all. Major fail DeWalt and Makita execs are breaking out the Dom Perignon in celebration.

ToolHead.... Just returned my high impact marked as "B". I got it for 209.99 + the free Milwaukee half inch drive socket set. Hated to part with it but I'm not taking any chances 😭 Now, I still need a high impact I'm in the Milwaukee, Makita, Cobalt, Ryobi, and Bauer battery platforms. I'm willing to go into the rigid battery platform and I'm thinking that might be the best. What do you think?

If we're talking just High Torque (other than DeWalt), I'd say Ridgid. Can still find the Octane beefy version some places, but the new Ridgid High Torque is good as well.

Just received a call from Angie at ACME. After speaking with the Milwaukee rep Kurt, Milwaukee will directly ship me the correct serial number unit! Less than an hour with my reply - needless to say I'm VERY impressed with their customer service. Cudos to ACME! I hope this shakes things up for online retailers in volunteering to get ahead of this and NOT ship H96B units.

I first learned of this just yesterday on the Torque Test Channel and this video validates the assertion that Milwaukee made a BIG mistake. This development makes me pretty angry because I just purchased this model a few weeks ago and sold my DeWalt to do it. Earlier this year I decided to update my cordless tools which were all DeWalt 12v and 20v platform. All together I bought about 15 Milwaukee tools over the last year and the 1/2" impact was the most recent....now I find this out. Now I question my decision. What other "accounting" improvements did I just buy into? I don't know how but I don't see this tool staying on my shelf for very long. I need to have faith that my tool will work when I need it. Milwaukee, I hope you're reading this. You have no idea just how much damage this does to your brand not just this one tool.

@@djsi38t The DeWalt I sold had a lower torque rating than the Milwaukee that replaced it but the main reason for selling is my attempt to get to one battery platform. I'm not chasing tools strictly based on torque specs (though it's a factor) the most important thing to me is that the tool does it's function reliably. With what we've learned about Milwaukee's "B" series I would not take it with me on the road as my only means of removing a wheel. I am rectifying my situation however, I ordered a new "A" series and I'm taking my "B" series back to HD.

So I bought the bundle from Home Depot. It came with the m18 1/2 impact 2767-20 bundle. My serial # is h96a. I also got the 3/8 stubby impact wit and extra battery for $650. Anyways though do not buy the tools alone as this is where people are finding the h96b version. If you buy this impact get the bundle with the case, battery etc.

I Checked my Impact Wrench and Discovered that I had bought the 2767-20 Model with the Serial number H96A... Even Tho., the Model says it's a 2767-21B on the Front of the Box the Serial number Says, it's the H96A... I don't know What that's about, 2767-21B VS the 2767-20???? Confused????? So, I lucked Out...

@@bigboreracing356 snap on only does a 1 year warranty on the cordless tools. My buddy just bought the 3/8 impact and that’s what the dealer told him. He regrets not sticking to Milwaukee even though it’s a decent impact.

If you already have a crate full of M18 tools, it makes no sense to buy a different brand. When you go cordless, you're buying a platform. Best to track down an older version, or wait till this shakes out. Even a used one would be a viable solution for now.

If you want to get the h96a serial # check Home Depot’s inventory in person. You might score a tool only but my luck was buying the kit with the carrying case. I didn’t even know about this issues until 2 days after I bought it. My brother in law is sending it to me overseas for my contract work. Again though check Home Depot they should have the A models but you might have to spend more and get the kit

It's a new version of the same model. 2767. If you look at the label on Dewalt tools you'll see Type 1 or Type 2 etc. They use different parts and such. That's pretty much what's happening here. Check Torque Test Channel to see how it's built differently and you'll see that milwaukee has been in touch and hopefully they'll fix it soon. I'm glad I got mine awhile back. 😌

2767 verison B came out in aug 2022. Everything in stores from everyone posting is the B model so dont touch a 2767 atm or yourll have to deal with the hassel. They took out parts by changing the hammering assembly but destroy the gun this way.
