Why do you spend your hard earned money on the worst vehicles? Why do you buy the worst reliability cars? Why do you lose money on depreciation, high ownership costs, and major issues?
The answer is you should stop. These are the worst car brands ever as far as I'm concerned. This is my opinion, but it's time for you to stop looking at these.

I'm always reluctant to bash on any brand, or be loyal to any brand. I can find outliers in all brands, either excellent examples, or bad examples. Sure, larger scale recalls do tend to send up a red flag, but even worse are when manufacturers know about an issue and choose not to do a hard recall; this happens more often than we realise. I have no skin in this game. I just like nice cars, and am mostly brand agnostic. I also realise that Toyota (and Honda) have earned their reputations for overall reliability, but it's not hard for me to find extreme examples of those cars failing much earlier than expected, and not due to neglect, but due to a manufacturing or build issue. I can find examples from every brand, in fact.

Hi! This video was really interesting. First, I want to share my current experience as a 2016 Hyundai Elantra owner since I got this car brand new and still use it as my daily driver. So, 8 years later (almost 9) and over 100k on the odometer, this car had 0 issues. I live in a place where we have huge winters and big temperature gaps, and as surprising as it is, everything is still from the factory on this car... even the battery (only brakes, filters, and regular maintenance have been done). It still starts like a brand new car even when it's -30 outside, still getting high mpg. This "made in Korea" car has been flawless. I know my experience does not represent the experiences of others, but with all I have said, I find it hard to say that this brand doesn't make any "solid" or "reliable" cars. I know plenty of people around me with similar experiences as mine with their Hyundai or Kia. I repeat myself, I know my experience is not necessarily like the others, but let's not forget that others don't represent 100% either. Maybe it's the fact that my car is made in Korea, but what a solid one. Thanks.

My first car was a used 1988 Hyundai with 36K miles on it, I bought it because I needed a car and it was all I could afford for $3,800. It destroyed me, I could not afford to replace it. Some years maintenance and repairs would be more than what I originally paid for the car! Everything on it broke, slowly sucking away any money I would save to buy another car! I was stuck with it for 10 years! I actually wish it would have caught fire. At 94K miles the engine seized up and I was unwilling to fix it anymore! I bought a junk 1987 Ford Taurus for $1,400 cash with over 200K miles on it (was late with rent and utilities that month!). It ran like a clock for 4 years and allowed me to save for my next car, a newer 1998 Ford Taurus for $6K, it was totaled in an accident two years later. I then bought another one nearly new with only 17K miles on in 2006 for $9,400 cash, this is the same car I am driving today. It is the best car I have ever owned, it has saved me not only money, but piece of mind and now has ~150K on the odometer! I will never buy another Hyundai or Hyundai product ever again, they can all cash fire and burn as far as I'm concerned!

Honestly, the experience in the family are more than enough to stay away from Hyundai and Kia, but these days, they are seriously becoming death traps, and disgustingly unreliable. I still remember going to dealerships and the guy insisting and insisting that their cars are better than the Japanese. It was just sad. And apparently this is a very Hyundai/Kia thing, because two other dealerships were doing the same. And the experience goes all the way to new cars, even 2023 ones.

as a person who works at a Hyundai dealership i can say with 110% confidence that NO ONE should buy a Hyundai/Kia...these vehicles are possbily the most unreliable vehicles EVER created in the history of the world...we have had MANY MANY NEW vehicles come off the delivery truck with 5kms on them needing engines....we have had customers buy a new hyundai and need a new engine less than 5000kms of owning them....we had one old lady who is on her 3rd engine and her car dosnt even have 60,000kms on it and its also on its 2nd tranny...and YES this applies to NEW 2024 hyundais.... I myself will NOT let any of my friends or family buy from these brands....luckly we are across from a toyota dealership to wich i point them to...we have TWO C Cans FILLED with engines waiting to be installed in customers cars....some have been waiting months for there vehicles back...we have 2 dedicated engine techs that do NOTHIGN but engines every single day.... Hell NONE of our techs drive there own brand....and when your own techs that work at your dealership refuse to drive/buy your brand....you know that is a red flag. One thing i also seen working at a dealership is the salesmen are scummy a/f....and hyundai constantly tries to compare themselfs to Toyota....its in there training videos ffs....meanwhile toyota is off doing there own thing because they know there is no competition at all lol.... Another things, i am my parts manager for my dealership, have been for 4.5 years now....and you would NOT believe the amount of crap i seen....Hyundai will do WHATEVER THEY CAN to get out of warrenty....the worst one i seen is when they denied a customer coverage because she didnt use the "approved" hyundai towing company and would not cover her car engine based on that....we are STILL to this day fighting for that warrenty coverage for her.

What happened to these cars? Our neighbors used to buy them in the late 90s and early 2000s. They practically got the cars for nothing, and they said the cars ran fine. They said the cars were good quality for the money. Now, it seems like they are junk. I think many entry-level cars are the same today other than a couple of brands. Anywho, I have an entry level AMG that is a POS and I've hired an attorney to fight for a buyback because the car is so unreliable and constantly broken. 😅

On par with Jaguar/Land Rover/Range Rover. Those are definately the most unreliable vehicles ever made in the history of mankind. At my local Land Rover dealership, some of the Range Rovers would have various electronic glitches on brand new cars in the showroom. I spoke to a customer recently and on the brand new vehicle he wanted to test drive, the sunroof was already leaking and there were already rattling noises from poorly fitted interior components.

This is 2024. You're talking about vehicles that are about 10 years old or in some cases, older. Older Hyundais and Kias had a lot of issues. No one in their right mind would buy a Hyundai or Kia because they think they are better made than a Toyota. They buy them because they can't afford to buy the Toyota. Newer Hyundais and Kias still aren't at the level of Toyota, but they are a lot cheaper and they are made better than they were back then. Some models are better than others. Kia has more models that are less problematic than Hyundai, IMO. I would do my research if I was going to get one. In reality, I would prefer a Toyota, but not everyone can afford that option.

GM announced that 2025 is the last year for the Chevy Malibu. Did you ever do a Video on the Chevy Malibu 9th Generation? I ask because our 2016 Chevy Malibu LT 1.5L Engine that was maintained very well using the required 5/30 Dexos Full Synthetic oil in it changed every 5k miles got the dreaded PO 304 Code when the check engine light came on one morning when my wife was about to drive to work. As you know the code showed misfire in Cylinder #4. My wife didn’t drive the car anymore after that. What I did was what most mechanics would do to check it was swap number 3 and 4 cylinder coils with one another. That made no difference. Then I tried a new plug in #4 cylinder again it made no difference. The car has only 35k miles on it. We purchased the car in January of 2016 as a left over. It was used as a demonstrator and came with 2500 miles on it. The car looked like it came right off the showroom floor and we got full warranty 5 years plus or 60k miles. Well I called GM about it to see if there was any warranty left on the Power Train. They said that it was over with by 6 months but being that it had so low of mileage on it to take it to our nearest Chevy Dealer to check it out that they might be able to do something for me because of the low mileage. . I did that and the Chevy Dealer called me and told me that the engine was bad. I had a hard time believing it especially at 35,000 miles. They recommended a new motor. They quoted me a price of $10,235.00 to do the job and over $200 to check the car out that they said they would take off of the job if I gave them the ok. I offered to meet them half way since I was supposedly over the warranty period by 6 months. GM told me nothing doing so I nicely told them that they lost me as a GM customer. My family has purchased plenty of New and Used GM cars over my 73 years. I told GM rather than pay them $10,235.00 that I would go out and buy my wife a brand new 2024 Toyota Camry our first foreign car and purchased one that same month and drove the Malibu home from the dealer and paid the service fee. I still drive it locally myself but I have done plenty of research online. I am also retired from the Automotive Parts Business as owner. Using my sources, You Tube and talking to old Customers of mine in the Auto Repair business I have read and heard that 1.5L GM engines installed in the Malibu with Turbo have many problems out there. They GM even sent out a Service Bulletin stating about 1.5L engines blowing pistons in 2016 on up Malibu’s. Many cannot understand why GM never had a recall especially with that bulletin out there and so many of these engines going bad. What’s your thoughts on this? If you did a Video on the Chevy Malibu with this problem please point that video out to me.

Watch the video of a Kia mechanic walking through the garage pointing out how many engines are sitting in the bay ready to be installed for brand new Kias. These vehicles are pure trash. A coworker at work bought a Kia and the engine blew up. It took kia months to finally admit it was THEIR defect and due to the Lemon law they gave the customer their money back. Consumers believe that this 100,000 mile warranty is the greatest. Ahhh...Kia will avoid this warranty and blame the customer for neglect. For example...Kia believes a brand new engine will consume a quart of oil in 6 months. Once your engine fails they will claim the CUSTOMER failed to check the oil. Let people buy these Korean POS vehicles. I enjoy my Lexus.

Everyone has an opinion but when it comes to vehicles the only opinion that matters is the one who is driving it and probably paid for it. Every vehicle is going to require repair and maintenance at some point in its life. Every auto manufacturer producing vehicles today has a high percentage of repeat buyers who were satisfied enough with their present vehicle to buy another one from the same manufacturer and they also managed to bring in buyers new to the brand. If Lexus and Toyota were so perfect why don't they have 100% buyer retention and why don't people who supposedly had such problematic vehicles leave the terrible manufacturers and buy nothing but Toyota or Lexus afterward?

Who in there right mind does compare a Lexus to a Kia? I sure never had. That said, my Forte GT has been rock solid bulletproof so far, and it gives me a ton of bang for my buck compared to nothing else, because literally nothing else other than a Civic si (which is 5-6k more expensive) compares to it. Would I compare it to a Lexus? Never in a million years. Is it a solid car? Sure is. So maybe stop dumping on Kia, they actually do have some good cars and like everyone else, some bad one's too.

@@Scypher0th Engine wise you might be correct but my 2018 G80 with the non turbo V6 is slowly disintegrating. All the plastic parts inside and outside are fading and the rubber components are literally coming off all over. They use sub par materials for the cosmetic components, which is a stupid thing to do from a sourcing point since that is what the customer sees falling apart first.
