I’m confused all the deadlifts looked ok. I thought the bloody shins was from a wider stance with the knurling scrapping the shins.
@eddyfernandez7238
@eddyfernandez7238 2 жыл бұрын
This is my case, the knurling sliding past my shins. Also I like to activate my lats and back muscles much as I can to help keep my back straighter at the consequence of pulling the knurls tighter to my shins and causing deeper wounds
@michaellynn9763
@michaellynn9763 9 ай бұрын
While my deadlift has increased dramatically (new lifter) over the past four months, I regularly have to take time off because the pain in my shins is unbearable! Actually, I even took the hair off the front of my legs the other day! As someone with stupidly long legs and an inflexible hip, I was always under the assumption that starting with my hips lower (even though we can see that our shins move forward), and almost a longer squat movement was necessary. I was always hesitant to start with my hips higher due to the greater risk of rounding my upper back but the information in this video combined with the comments gives me confidence that starting with your hips slightly higher is the way to go!!

I've been deadlifting for over 11 years (on and off) and it just amazes me when I see beginners doing the lift in a dangerous or improper way. It's like a whole other reality. That said, with all of my experience I still get cocky and use shit form on heavier lifts on occasion, I think a lot of people do. Probably half of "pro" lifters that got injured just went too far and sacrificed form for a number. With all that rambling out of the way there are cases where you have to adjust slightly from standard form, there's no getting around it and the deadlift is not 100% the same for everyone (but it's pretty damned close) There's my useless contribution.
@gravemind6536
@gravemind6536 3 жыл бұрын
Deadlift form wise for me took practise but I got there over the course of a few months used to hate doing them because I sucked but as the technique got better so did the numbers and now I love doing them. On a max effort my form will degrade slightly but nothing too dangerous.
