Tandoori masala that's better than you can buy. Maximum flavour from fresh ground spices for way less money than commercial blends.
It makes me more than a bit crazy how recipes can get all messed up because different brands of tandoori masala have different amounts of salt. So I did something about it. And you can too.

Please dont give up on us, keep making videos man uve changed my life seriously. Everyone is telling me to sell the curry i make from ur recipes. Trust me i believe 1 day ull get the recognition u deserve, all it takes is 1 video that virals. Wish u the best.

Ill briefly tell u my story, i watched many recipes until i stumbled upon something different, which was ur channel, cooked ur food and it was the best thing! Then i stumbled upon thecurryguy, i tried his recipes and they are terrible compared to urs, even read his book. U have something special, if utube isnt working keep going whilst doing something else with what u have (possibly books...). Full fan and supporter of yours.

I was going to double up on the mix, but ran out of cumin seeds, had accidentally picked Ajwain instead of jeera at the store. So Used 1 tbsp jeera, and 1 tbsp Ajwain. It still worked out quite well. Here in Oslo, many Pakistani restaurants don't taste that good because they use the TRS or Raja tandoori masala. I don't like those brands at all. I checked a commercial famous spice brand here's tandoori masala, 48 grams of salt per 100 grams. Half the blend is alt.

48 percent salt is exactly why I did this recipe😀. It’s just ridiculous to pay top dollar for salt.

Thank you so much for your videos, they're great. You taught me how to cook Indian restaurant food. After years of trying and failing to recreate a madras as tasty as my favorite restaurant, I finally am able to cook them even better than them. I make a curry base and eat madras, bombay aloo and tikka massala's the whole week. Love it!

And the video is out... thanks Romain! Just curious, what are your thoughts about the use of MSG in Indian cooking (particularly in curries). I've heard about it in some obscure threads but for some reason nobody in mainstream wants to touch this topic with a 6-ft pole. I've used it in my recipes with mixed results - some really good, some OK-ish. Citric acid is under-reported but still acceptable, but MSG, nope it's almost a taboo in Indian kitchen.

I’m not philosophically opposed to MSG and the brand of tandoori masala in the video is very tasty - just really expensive for what it is. I haven’t tried experimenting with MSG and Indian yet so don’t have an opinion beyond that though.

FWIW, I have tried these curries with my 'super salt' mix which is 9 parts salt and 1 part MSG and two other disodium flavor enhancers and it's really good. But I love MSG. I put it in nearly all my stir fries, fried rice, potatoes, eggs and veggies, unless it doesn't need that umami flavor. Have been eating it for years and never had a problem with it.

@@humanoidbeing5998 MSG completely enhances Chinese (maybe even Continental) recipes like stir fries, noodles, etc. No doubt. As much as science disproves all the negativity around it, MSG does cause me a lot of grief when I eat large portions.
