Hope you are in much better world mom, free of physical and mental pain after giving life to and bringing up 7 children while dad was drinking. You deserve it. Sorry for your loss,, love is so truly eternal,, there is the beauty of love itself,, God's creation for sure! HE knew what we needed before he made us! Giving us love and joy,, how could evolution establish LOVE within our fleshly beings?? Impossible!!! GOD created this ~~Terrarium with billions of fascinating, miraculous animate and inanimate creatures that live "side-by-side" with us, and help create a truly spectacular world of fascination an wonder!!!! The good book, called that for GOOD reason, tells us that GOD has promised, made a solid promise: " And HE will wipe every tear from their (you and me!) eyes! And sickness and death will be NO MORE ... for the former things have passed away! And they shall not (the sad memories of the past!) come up into their minds, or their thoughts!" Our loved ones who have passed away, we shall again be reunited with in this life again!!! That is GOD"S solemn promise to us,, and if we will just remember that HE brought us miraculously into this world,,, who, or what,,, could stop HIM from bringing life back once again?!?!?! We must remember,,, HE IS THE CREATOR OF ALL LIFE, AND ALL MATTER,, NOT EVOLUTION! Have faith in the ONE who made you, your family, friends, pets and most dearly ........ your ~Wife~ ~!~ Keep the faith~!~ Sonny.

Just a couple of corrections, amendments and additions, dear friend - Acker Bilk (not aker), played clarinet not guitar... a more haunting and soulful instrument... Stranger on the Shore was a British television drama serial first broadcast by the BBC in 1961. It was written by Sheila Hodgson, and produced and directed by Kevin Sheldon. The show is described by some as a "children's serial", being shown on Sunday afternoons... Otherwise I totally agree with you...

I used to watch this programme on the tv with my parents, I think it was about a French girl living in England, hence the title of the song. I am now 73 had almost forgotten this one❤

The song was a hit here in the USA back in the early 60s, but there was no corresponding TV show. Thanks for watching the video 😎

I had my own band in my native Ireland from age 17 to 33 and during that time I met some brilliant musicians in addition we backed talent competitions doing auditions plus professional entertainers. However this is the best version of 'Stranger on the Shore' I have ever heard

my dad always enjoyed the steel guitar, and so right he was, the older one gets to sit back and enjoy the talent, it takes to make the melody.

Thank you Sir for this beautiful rendition. My wife and I are from the 90s and thus did not experience the golden age of the steel guitar... But I am happy to have your recording. My wife goes through a lot of pain in the moment, to the extent of being constantly under high tension. But hearing this together with me helps her relaxing immediately. Thank you, Sir!
