In this video I attempt a loop hike to one of Maines awesome huts nestled at 1,900 ft in Carrabassett Valley. With views of the Bigelows and Sugar loaf - and surrounding mountains.
Still strengthening my legs from my previous knee injury, this was a perfect stretch with 700 ft of elevation to get my muscles working a little harder.

I’ve been around there, XC ski and snowmobile. Never made it to any huts. The river views are always nice, peaceful area. Do you know if the Tribe opened up the land? There were some problems the past year or so. Skiing, biking and snowmobiling were fully shut down for a bit.

The two ladies must have been struggling when you passed them. It bothers me way more than it should when I don’t get a response or greeting in return out in the woods.

Yeah probably true. They had initially spoken with me at first but then as we walked in the same direction I was trying to make conversation and that’s when they stepped aside silently and let me pass. I don’t think English was their first language and maybe they didn’t hear me very well over the snow crunching..? It did bother me at first but then I just let it go. They were just working hard to get to their destination I’m sure.💗 When I ran into them again at the hut they were sweet. It must have been me overthinking. But it’s true - sometimes people just aren’t social and I have to be ok with that. 💗 Thanks for watching!
