@datpinoiboi True Asian parents pay for all the college funds in full, so the kids don't graduate with debt. My parents told me that if I got into an ivy leage they'd even sell the house to keep me there.

What's sad is that Asian parents strike fear in us and we go through panic attacks when we get a bad grade

This is what makes kids depressed, when they do so well but someone brings them down smh it's not like he said that's amazing! Maybe you can do better if you want too go for it. He probably said " 760? That's not good you need 800"

They don't know the strategy. Depends on major dude. Guess what? I got 1750 on reasoning test, 790 in Math II C, 800 in Korean, 640 in Physics. 5 on AP Calc BC, and Physics C. But, I still got in UCLA with MechE major. However, I had to resign from my job. Have been jobless for over two and half years since I graduated from there on Dec. 2011. Why? I have never respected my family, myself, and people around me. My role model was brat teenagers. I was envy of having girl friend in teenager, but I now realize that I had deluded dream. Because of that, it was difficult for me to get a job even if I have high level education background.

The only reason Sophie didn't get into an Ivy League is because her SAT I score and her essay. Her SAT I score should be at least in the mid 2200's out of 2400; most Ivy Leagues (especially around this time) looked for this score. This score is about a 1500 out of 1600 on the new SAT.

Obnoxious. That's why she didn't get into any Ivys. Top schools do their best to filter out these type of applicants. Her parents are cool, but they need to work on getting her to be less of a dragon princess and take a wider view of life.

seriously?! wtf?! why don't you get your DAD to take it himself! 760!? Higher....WHAT THE FUCK!? it's such a shame because asian parents live their lives through their children....putting so much pressure on them. If any of you asian parents can READ english....read this: It is NOT just about good grades and high test scores, it's about the person as a whole and if don't don't allow your children room to be happy and grow, the admissions people can see through that! AKA REJECTION!

he's a "piece of shit" and thats why she gets good scores. Its tough love. It works. During WWII the biggest scientific leaps in human kind history where made, not becasue people felt good. Because people felt pressured. This dad loves her, he loves her so much that he doesnt care if she loves him back.
