Struggle of Empires Board Game - Player Actions Overview With Examples

An overview of the types of actions players can take each round in the Struggle of Empires (Deluxe Edition) board game from Eagle-Gryphon Games. Turn on Klingon captions for corrections during the video.
IMPORTANT CORRECTION: Colonize/Gold Coast Commerce ----- In the video I show these as special actions. That is not correct per FAQ from the designer. I was looking at the Deluxe Edition rule book (hard copy) and it shows Colonization under special actions. The player aid pictured in the video has Colonization and Gold Coast Commerce with a red arrow, which also seems to indicate special action. BUT... I found the thread where designer confirms there was an error in the printed rulebook/player aids and Colonize and Gold Coast Commerce are NOT special actions, just regular actions where you can only do ONE of those, but not both, in the same round.
Please note: I use the terms standard actions and regular actions interchangeably.

This game looks interesting. Looks like a land-based equivalent to Twilight Imperium, which is something I’ve been wanting forever.

Thanks for your Brilliant Video!, I have two questions. First, If I move my army troop from Africa to South America for example, did I have to roll 'Long-Range movement Dice' Twice? (exiting Africa and entering S.America) Second, If I move two army troops from homeland to colony, did I have to roll 'Long-Range movement Dice' Twice? or roll only once to check both movements? Your Video is great, I learned lots of rules from your video. Have a nice day! (I'm sorry that my English is bad because I'm not living in a English-based nation)

I believe if I understand your question, in the first example you only roll once. The second example you have to roll for each unit moved. See pg. 15 of rule book. Also, thank you very much for your kind words! Please consider subscribing to my channel (and tell your friends as well!)

In the battle with Spain and the Dutch, wouldnt the English take that second loss because they helped in the battle?

Also, colonizing isn't considered a special action but a normal one but can only be done once per turn. That was by the creator on BGG

The example was two player game and the non-player allies don't take losses. But if the English were human controlled you are right.
