Thanks for the nice comment and the hint. I will try it this way! I think it's much easier to light a fire with the firesteel when making an open fire and I always had some issues when using a firesteel in combination with the oven. This might be the solution, thanks.

Thank you for the nice comment. Yes, sometimes it works better and sometimes it takes me few tries. I noticed that whenever a camera is recording, I feel a little bit more in a hurry and that's usually not helpful. But after a few tries more I still get there (unless the firesteel breaks...)

I see others hold the steel in the tinder and push the back of the saw blade down the steel toward the tinder ? You tried both ways as comparison ? New video maybe to compare ? But I love your persistence 👍

I had to put the barefoot walking and the barefoot shoes aside for a while due to an injury on the big toe, which didn't want to heal (happened at home when doing some exercises barefoot). Now a year later it gets better and I hope to be able to do long hikes with my barefoot shoes again soon. But actually you're right, I should do some barefoot hiking again too. I haven't done that for a while and it was a very special feeling to walk up a mountain without shoes. Maybe after the winter months I will do some barefoot day hikes again. I already have some experience with the Wim Hof Method but not so far away from the warm buildings. I think, I would have to practice the method a bit more consistently to build up the confidence to do a hike in the cold mountains with minimal protection from the cold. And also, combined with the filming it could be quite difficult to maintain the right mindset to do so. But I have already done some hiking in the snow with shorts. That was funny.
